This was such a good movie. I was married to an alcoholic and it was hard, but God spared his life and now his life has turned around. Thank you Jesus.

Never could understand Christians declaring they were alcoholics. Jesus doesn't lie..."In Christ we are new creations...Old things are passed away, everything becomes new". I once was an alcoholic but I am no longer! Praise Jesus.

Would you tell a diabetic that they should not call themselves diabetic because Jesus should set them free from their disease? To be an alcoholic means that we have a disease of alcoholism and the support from other alcoholics hopefully counters the misunderstandings of those who don't know anything about the disease. To tell an alcoholic that they are not an alcoholic could be the death of that person. Yes Jesus sets us free but he sets diabetics free from eating too much sugar too. We still call them diabetics
@@2loveyourneighbour The confusion is between what is a disease and what is the choosing of a harmful habit. One chooses to drink, for whatever reason, which could be due to upbringing, but doesn't pertain to genetics. The other is either genetic or unknown factors, not necessarily eating too many sweets, which is a bad habit. That is my view.

It took the death of one brother for the other to accept Christ and live.We should never be weary in well doing, even though it can cost us much.Christ did that for us,he laid down his life for his friends. Indeed he was a friend that sticketh closer then a brother.

I read Proverbs 1 and realized which side I was on being a casual believer and I cried and cried.
I read 1 John 2 and cried some more,
and 1 Corinthians 10 and seen He never changed.
Also Judges 13 the man seen face to face Who is Messiah/ Messenger or King of the “Lord”( “YHWH”
).
And Zachariah 14: 16-21 is the 1000 year reign which full convinced me that man through satan changed the true gospel.
We were messing up and I begged that She ( 7 fold Spirit Isaiah 11:1 and Revelation) would not turn her back on me. She birthed me and directed me and I wasn’t listening to her but to the church of the world instead. They are liars but don’t even know it.
They are the lawless n lukewarm.
May we all be made Shalom (completeness, perfectness and wholeness) who’s circumcised minds and hearts are continuously on YHWH.

YOU SAW them as they grew from a baby into adulthood due to YOUR HANDS OF MERCY. 🥰 YOU SAW them pursuing a career path for the purpose of obtaining the gains of the world not realizing that it is a loss compared to what YOU DID on the cross. YOU SAW them working long and laboring hard to receive the grace by justification even though YOU stated, "This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent."(John 6:29 KJV) YOU SAW the unwillingness to accept YOUR PLAN OF SALVATION THROUGH YOUR SON JESUS CHRIST. YOU SAW them living with the guilt of committing crimes to the heart. YOU SAW them enduring personal crisis. YOU SAW the weight of the burden on their hearts with each tribulation. YOU SAW them seeking comfort from the above mentioned topography, ONE OF THE MANY MARVELS YOUR PERFECT HANDS HAVE MADE. 👏🏻👏🏾👏🏻👏🏾👏🏻👏🏾 YOU SAW their worries about tomorrow.
If their hearts were a window that they could look through, oh the pains and scars they would see. What a cruel fate the skin gives as a mask to the inward pain. But the skin couldn’t cover THE SUFFERING YOUR ONE AND ONLY SON BORED on the cross as PAYMENT for all our sins because HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS ALONE HAD THE MERIT TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF YOUR HOLINESS. Indeed, ONLY HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS IS SUFFICIENT TO SAVE us from this present evil world as evidenced by Mary's song of praise. They have seen a lot of crazy things done in YOUR NAME. For example, the father of lies futile attempts to make crooked the right ways of the LORD to turn people away from faith in the WORKS OF JESUS CHRIST ALONE. How can anyone bear the thought of his or her life story detracting from the GLORY AND HONOR KNOWN TO BELONG TO CHRIST ALONE? As a consequence, YOU ARE A MYSTERY OF GREAT MYSTERY to them. Despite this conviction, YOU ARE MINDFUL of them as evidenced by the fact that YOUR JUDGEMENT is not speedy, allowing them to pursue the desires of the flesh.
They are aware of hypocrisy in religious assemblies that like to be seen and heard. In addition, secular education teaches that there is no right and wrong, if GOD exists there is no way of relating to HIM, and moral standards shift according to the whims of fashion. Therefore, their minds are conditioned to question everything this world has to offer including “THY POWER THROUGHOUT THE UNIVERSE DISPLAYED.” They have accepted the heavy burden of dealing with the troubles of this life and seek to know another way, YOU THE GREAT COMFORTER TO ALL who did receive YOU as their personal SAVIOR. Still, YOU have shown them NEW MERCY every day with each thought they make and each breath they take.
Unfortunately, like the prodigal son, we are all guilty of wandering far from YOU LORD because the negative experiences of our lives tend to build roadblocks to the TRUTH. As time marches on, JESUS CHRIST HELP them to identify the way, truth, and eternal life (that is YOU). Since to know and follow your SPIRIT is more exciting than any 007 movies, and YOU DELIGHT MAKING the ordinary into extraordinary. As time marches on, JESUS CHRIST MAKE them understand that there is no way around YOUR TRUTH, and that there is something about YOUR NAME. As time marches on, JESUS CHRIST HELP them defeat in their minds what is false in YOUR EYES.
LORD GUIDE their thoughts to know that the path of sin is hard on their hearts for the purpose of crying out to YOU to know the joy, peace of having the heavy burden LIFTED by THE GOD OF PEACE I AM, and ANCHOR their souls in THE HAVEN OF REST. In other words, LORD use the storms in their lives to get a hold of them to trust YOU and believe. In truth, YOU ARE THE JOY that seekest them through pain.
LORD HELP their fainting hearts to believe that YOU, who was slain on the cross over 2000 years ago has the POWER TO CHANGE lives today through the INSTANTANEOUS GREAT FAVOR from GOD to the house of Israel made known in believers by YOU to make YOUR NAME EVERLASTING. 🥰 For as the statue liberates the citizens so the cross liberates the soul. ONLY YOU can calm the trouble waters of the mind when one admits to wanting salvation from one’s sinful nature, JESUS IS LORD, and believes in the heart that GOD RAISED HIM from the dead TO LIFT the heavy burden of sin's guilt away from the heart in accordance to YOUR WORD found in Psalm 51:1-10 KJV. 👏🏻👏🏾👏🏻👏🏾👏🏻👏🏾 O, the wonder of it all to experience within the flesh the feeling of a tree being cut back/pruned in order for it to grow stronger and more beautiful after meditating on the words of said Psalm. 🥰🙌🏻🙌🏾
LORD MAKE them know that ONLY YOUR HOLY SPIRIT, through the experience of a new birth within believers, can prevent the family circle from being broken because THE HOPE OF ETERNAL LIFE YOU HAVE GRANTED means a chapter of their lives is decided. Creation sings the rebirth song for them yearly, through YOUR PROMISE of springtime, giving rise to the idea that by the mention of YOUR NAME flowers grow, and the desert blooms again. 🥰
LORD GUIDE their understanding of words to use to come into YOUR PRESENCE with an honest reverence of WHO YOU ARE to experience the beauty that time can't erase YOUR WISDOM resting on their faces. LORD STRENGTHEN their determination to never waiver in efforts to search for YOU because the wages of sin is too high for anyone to pay. Additionally, THE KING OF KINGS is needed in their hearts to learn how to expand their capacity to love for YOU are LOVE in any language. 🥰 Once they learn to speak it with boldness through YOUR WONDERFUL COUNSELING all the world will hear, and know that LOVE is the language of their hearts. So LORD, KEEP KNOCKING on their door until they let YOU in to know hardships and struggles will end with a GREAT CELEBRATION WITH YOU. 🥰🙌🏻🙌🏾
If one believes faith cannot be forced, YOU WILL GIVE that individual over to the stubborn heart to follow own counsel which will surely fail him or her to the extent that the punishment will last forever found in Psalms 81 NIV. Given this, I pray that YOU WILL MAKE that person see that this feeling is wasted for a world in which we become strangers as we age, gives us thrills instead of peace, aims to solve a problem but creates another, and unrest surges with each passing generation. Shed some light into their broken hearts for YOU ARE THE GREAT JEHOVAH, THE GOD THAT HEALETH thee.
Lastly, LORD when they call on YOU in earnest prayer to come into their hearts to be born again (repentance manifesting itself in a changed life), I pray that YOU WILL GIVE them the blessed assurance of their salvation because nothing breaks YOUR HEART, or tears YOU apart like when they cry from the trials of the devil who comes to slander, falsely accuse, steal, kill & destroy. Only by drawing nearer to YOU LORD will put them on a path to a glorious one way trip winding upward to YOU where pain is not welcome because the heart will never break anymore. For ONLY YOU UNDERSTANDS our tears since YOU LOOK at the heart, while humans look at the flesh.
O LOVE that will not let them go. When they don't have the strength to try, and have cried all they can cry hear their hearts that need YOU more today than yesterday. Many thanks LORD for speaking TRUTH in our lives TO BLESS those who are not offended by THEE. LET YOUR WILL BE DONE because YOUR LOVE ALONE CONQUERS everything by WAITING for them to cease struggling, and finally surrender to YOUR EMBRACE to learn about YOUR LOVE AND PROMISE TO TAKE CARE of your children exquisitely. 🥰 Since... "at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore"... (Psalms 16:11 KJV), and the nail print for them to know YOU by answering the following question. How did CHRIST LOVE people into a relationship with HIM? 🥰

Great movie for a faith based production. Some solid acting, great cinematography, B+ for sure. It shows a very realistic world that a lot of people aren't exposed to. AA, gangs, alcoholism, etc.
Superior acting, great production value, beautiful photography and use of Santa Barbara backdrop. Very moving story line. Emotional. Heartfelt. Real people with real issues.
Scenes were complicated. They did not have a good flow from one to another. Not enough truth spoken about Jesus turning around the sinner when we surrender. Too many depressing scenes not needed to get the point that Agusus was lost. He did not get closure for Nataly who was having twins.
God will give me the right friends that lead to life, because he should. Amen.
Good movie. I appreciated the irony of Marcus's wife saying that there's no power in this world that can stop Marcus when he wants to do something. Hence God giving him that prophetic dream, though He will not go against your free will!

I enjoyed this movie except for all the unanswered questions!
This film shows how everything becomes unreal in a relationship where addiction rules. The timing fails, the energy is unstable and the difference between the mask and the poor guy behind it gets bigger and bigger until everything gets messed up. The addictive substance is interchangeable, the principle remains. A moving story that calls the prodigal son home, as described by Jesus in Luke 15. Thanks to all those involved in this film.

1. God is much more visible in this movie than some have given Him credit for. But this is not an in-your-face gospel. To those this bothers, I will remind you that neither is the book of Esther, or one could even say, Ruth. I will gently remind you to be respectful, however, and to remember that some are put off by speeches, but will pay close attention to demonstrations of love and of lives changed over time (both of which are in this film). I also believe if you will watch closely in this movie, the credit for that still goes to God.
2. While we of course want to know what happened to the blonde woman and the children, I believe it is evident that this man is still a work in progress. In an age of quick fixes and simplistic happy endings, I think this movie will more realistically show many the way forward with some glimpses of the God who makes that way forward possible.

What put Augustus in a coma? The movie never said. What happened to the young lady carrying his twin babies? Did he marry her? A good movie. Well acted. But the story line meandered and obviously left out some things.

This movie dont explain everything we have to read it. A person can get into a coma when you drink too much even. But he was suicidal he might have overdosed on drugs, or meds too.

Yes, this movie jumps forward and backward a bit. And while I understand that is throwing some of you, I think the main reason is covered in my other comment; this isn't simplistic. It doesn't pretend that life always gets easier, but acknowledges that there may be setbacks, and yet God isn't done with us yet, but will finish what He started.
So for those who may need a timeline for this movie, here is what I believe to be taking place (slight spoiler, but not really): overall, the story progresses forward. However, as you will quickly discover, there are a few jumps back to show childhood scars, and some jumps forward, you could say, to the coma and the AA meeting. In actuality, the whole movie is part of a telling of a life in past tense, but I think my explanation above will be easier to follow.
What is really throwing people, I think, is the expectation that once a life is turned over to Jesus, everything will fall into line. Real life doesn't always work that way. What we are promised is that when we confess our sin, he is faithful to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). We are also promised that He will never leave us or abandon us (Hebrews 13:5), and that He will finish the work He started in us (Philippians 1:6).

HOLY GHOST is our power over drugs and alcohol! Power over uncleanness! JESUS said, "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you." Luke 10:19!
Serpents and scorpions are demons and devils. Alcohol, drugs, pornography etc are spirits from the enemy. JESUS gives us power over ALL the power of the enemy! HALLELUJAH! 🙏🙌👏

And He said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except One - Alahim (God). But if you wish to enter into life, keep the commands.”
He said to Him, “Which?” And Yahusha said, “Don’t commit murder. Don’t commit adultery. Don’t steal. Don’t give false testimony. Honor your father and mother, and love your neighbor as you love yourself.”

Spoiler within the comment--if that be possible with this movie. Can someone tell me the time line of the coma and Augustus being saved. The ending makes it appear that he died, however, he was in the coma from drinking so it would seem he was in the coma prior to his salvation since his fiancee left him prior to his being saved. But then, how could that be since after she left him he was drunk and was going to shoot himself, but confessed to the Lord instead. The movie did not make sense.

I just saw this movie and was a little 😕 about the ending, But here is what I 💬 happened
While Augustus was in a coma, either his soul or consciousness went to an alternate universe/dimension where things are kind of different or all that stuff only occurred in his mind, which may have been messages or metaphors that he needed to change his life which could more likely be it. Maybe Augustus never really had a brother named Markus since he never mentioned him when he went into group counseling or maybe he did but he existed in that other parallel timeline as well as the other characters, dk. I guess they left the interpretation open to the people's imagination.

I believe Markus is actually the life that Augustus would've had if he gets rid of the addiction and the blonde girl was really Lust that Augustus fell into temptation while the wife was away, the part where Markus died is really a symbol that Augustus should change his life and Markus' being intertwined with his, also that old blind man represent Wisdom sending a message to Augustus, I also 💬 Markus was actually an allegorical brother to Augustus 🚫 a literal one or perhaps a messenger or 😇, makes sense to me. I personally 💬 all that was meant to be symbolic.

Yes, I am confused too, but there were enough beautiful moments like the getting together again of Marcus and his wife and the surrender of Augustus.
I wish that they would put all the credits on 1 or 2 pages, and get on with the movie, this single name on a page is ridiculous. No one is that important that the director has to stroke their ego by putting heir name on a page by itself. I usually skip past the credits anyhow.

HOWEVER, I WAS REALLY CONFUSED BY THE ENDING.

I WAS THE FIRST ONE SEATED SO THAT I COULD CLOSE MY EYES AND NOT SEE 🙈 PEOPLE COMING IN. WHEN ALL WAS QUIET, THEY ASK NEWCOMERS TO TELL THEM YOUR NAME AND A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF.

The main actor was so loveing and unselfish I never understood why his wife was being so cold and angry .
This has some great moment.s But they need to lay off the superficial laughter and the constant "promises". It makes us realize how ridiculous it is to promise someone anything. Just try your best. Talk less in the future tense as we can't control the future and more in the past and present tense as we can learn from the past so we make better decisions in the present.
A good movie, but a little too extreme, especially the character Augustus.I understand that alcoholics do have these traits but he seemed over the top, with nothing good working out for him until he hit rock bottom. Marcus on the other hand being the complete opposite of his brother .The scars of childhood are permanent and it takes the blood of Jesus to wash it all away.Time heals all wounds.Despite my misgivings, I was able to enjoy the movie anyway.

There are many reasons people who are Christians fall into sin. Yes we are a new creation after we're saved by Jesus Christ but we are not perfect. Praise Jesus we are forgiven.

I can not take watching these movies for free when I am forced to have the decibel level increased to intolerable levels every time a commercial comes on.
You need to fix this, and maybe monitor some of your commercials to line up more with Christian values

I have been watching this for 1 hour and 20 minutes and so far, I have no idea what is going on. As a result, it is hard to feel moved by these tragic circumstances. In my opinion, this was not good story telling. I don't understand why these two brothers are so haunted by their past or even what really happened to them. I don't understand why Augustus cheated on his fiance or why he turned to alcohol in the first place. I don't understand why Marcus's wife is so bitter with him and distant. I don't understand how Marcus thinks he can earn a living teaching a Bible class once a week to young adults. The movie doesn't explain how he earns any money. In fairness, I will watch the last 18 minutes since I have already invested so much time. Maybe it will all come together and I will understand what is going on. Even if that happens, I am not a fan of being told a story that strings you along for at least three quarters of the way through waiting to be told what is going on. Even if the ending makes some sense and finally answers all my questions it isn't worth it and, at this point, I wouldn't bet that it will. (Okay, as I suspected, I now watched the last 20 minutes and it made no sense.) What a waste of time!

This was a good movie, but if this was inspired by true events , then that means that there was a real Nataly and real twins. So what was the story of her, did Agustus ever go back and make things right with her and his twin babies? What about Claire did they get married? Did these facts come to light when this movie was being researched I'm very disappointed that some of his life's events were left out of this movie.
