Tinsel always reminds me of the Christmas tree at my Grandfather house. When your a little kid its the twinkle that tinsel adds to the tree. I don't use it but I still love it. So we hot glue the gingerbread house together. So we are on the naughty list. Have a great day.
That is exactly how I do my tree! All the stuff I remember from the 50s and 60s when I grew up. Family ornaments, old lights and nothing matching, makes me feel like a little girl again. Love everything about how you think. Just beautiful!

My little brother and I used to lay under the tree together and watch it change colors as the wheel went around. It's one of my most cherished Christmas memories.

In Poland this type of tinsel was called Angel's hair and it was very popular back in a day. It is very messy though and gets everywhere. Loved this new tree - looked very traditional, but in a most beautiful way. Looking at your house is always a treat for my eyes ! Merry Christmas guys !

How wonderful ❤️. When I was a little girl in Germany we used tinsel too. My mom and I got the honors. Then towards the end we would throw it on but had to redo because my Oma would yell at us to stop making a mess. We'd all laugh 😂 as we redid it. Happy memories.

My daughter bought store bought kits for me to do with my grandsons, but they were terrible and wouldn’t stick together. The tree is perfect, but l was worried for your coat . Your coat is so beautiful and l was concerned about sap getting on it . I would love to use tinsel again, but my husband doesn’t want it all though the house . Every video you make is magical. I love the powdered sugar snow and icicles dripping from the roof of the gingerbread house. Grandma looks like she supervised while you and your brother worked your creative magic. How great to have these wonderful family traditions. We also called the "tinsel" icicles when I was young. Oh wow this made me want to cry nostalgic tears. Ijust lost my dad a few months ago and my mum 2 years ago. Seeing the tree farm brought memories of Mum carrying a thermos of hot chocolate while Dad was dragging me on my sled to go cut down our Christmas tree. And the glass Christmas ball ornaments were just like the ones from my childhood. Treasured family memories.

I actually used to do a lot of Christmas baking every year! I would make english toffee (great grandma's recipe), peanut butter cups, caramel, fruit & nut bark, & sometimes glass candy, gingerbread cookies, macaroons, peppermint bark, etc.) . I'm tempted to try making rosette cookies this year as I haven't made them in a very long time & I purchased an iron a few years ago! Grandma makes "spritz" cookies every year as well as chex mix which is always fun! Your fig cookie recipe sounds interesting - I'm sure you all enjoy making cookies each year! :) - Christopher

There for a while it was out. One day I thought, you know what? I like it and I'm using it!! I've been wanting to tell you how extremely talented you are at decorating. Your tree and home are absolutely gorgeous!! I love Victorian homes. We ended up in a 1920's craftsman style home. We love antiques as well. I've been putting tinsel on my tree again too. There for a while it was out. One day I thought, you know what? I like it and I'm using it!! I've been wanting to tell you how extremely talented you are at decorating. Wow, just wow is all I can say!! We are grandparents now so we have to be careful what we put on the tree....ha ha! I shall live vicariously through you!! Merry Christmas to you all! P.S.
