Thank you for this awesome recontruction. Although I think there are some harmonics in the melody of Betrayal that sound off, not in the key of the song, particularly in the 2nd and 4th notes. May I suggest a possible solution to this? I found it almost randomly, but it helped me out. If the melody is: D, C, A, B-flat, try adding A underneath the C-note and G underneath B-flat. I'm not sure what it does, probably cancels those unwanted harmonics out.
I also noticed the choir wasn't sounding exctly the same but couldn't figure out what was missing. I think you are right, there is a quiet note below, so its more a 2-notes chord playing. Nice catch!
Really love hearing these songs completely broken into parts. Really makes me appreciate the creativity of making a soundtrack with samples. Like how did Akira experiment and distort till it sounded so good? Wonder how much work was unused and set aside. And it's mind blowing how you can recreate these and even improvise when the original sample is unavailable. This is overall a wonderful series.
What part of the main chorus (requiem) sound did you use? I'm trying to recreate it in audacity for fun but it sounds nothing like in your video when i change the pitch.
You need to use the Right channel of the sample, convert it to mono, and then change the pitch and speed of the sample down. In Audacity you will need to change every parameter one by one, personally I only used it in the video to show the original Waveform and its default pitch.
@@AvithOrtega Maybe i wasn't clear enough. I actually meant to ask if you used a specific part of the sample only. Because the full audio sample is 6 seconds long, which is longer than a note for this song. I dont know where i should cut the sample. For example: from 1 to 4 seconds. (just an example).
@@iamthewell Oh ok, in the video the loop is set from 0.9% to 12% of the sample in FW-BW mode (Forward-Backward loop mode). So in reality I am using the first second more of less that loops back and forth.
Thank you for uploading this. There was another video of a guy showing how to recreate black fairy, but his video was removed. Good to have this avalible now.
Dude…thank you so much. I have been trying to replicate this shit for a special remix for whispering hills. The percussions were easy to create. Just the choir was the trickier part.
at 04:00 I show the original source of the samples and the effects/plugins I applied (although in Reason there is no "plugins", or at least not third party ones).

Tried it and it certainly does the trick

Indeed it does, Radal!

Betrayal is my most favourite SH theme. Yamaoka is a fucking god.
Thx for your work.

спалил рабочий стол, а там халва)
Sounds great. The metallic hits are pretty much identical. The first pad sample is not very close though.
Ahh, so that's where the chorus for Betrayal comes from!
Hola, excelente, de donde sacaste los samples?
Son samples antiguos de Big Fish Audio?
Gonna get married to this one day
This is one of my favorite songs in silent hill
это потрясающе, а я всегда думал что Акира стоял со сковордками и хлопал духовку, записавая эти звуки а оказывается вон оно как)

Is it possible for us to get one on fermata in mistic air?
I will keep that in mind :)
I just released that song too: ruclips.net/video/ia2Pcl3Gs3k/видео.html
Great video! wonder what program and plugins did you used :)
I used Reason 5 (now they are in the 13th version) and all the plugins are stock plugins of the program (reverb, distortion, delay, etc).
Nice video. I never thought of editing samples like the way you did with the drums.
Amazing to see my favourite Akira Yamaoka composition getting reverse engineered. Great job there!

That is absolutely insane! Good work man!
Sos el mejor!!! Espero esto con ansias jaja
How did you get hold of Titanium Rhythms? Hasn't it been discontinued for years?
made me so happy to hear this in the remake trailer yesterday! and Promise came right after, too. glad he re-used that bell-like drum sound
Hey, I know you. I'm following a spotify Playlist with music that sounds like silent Hill's and you're in there right? I love your work bro

you are absolutely amazing bro.
Those reconstructions videos are so good
These are fantastic… I love listening to these deconstructions.
finally a song i can put on to a repeat :)
I liked the video, but I thought you would be walking people through on plugins/samples/etc. Maybe next time?

🤔 Interesting...
Great recreations!!!
