Mr dear dearest Mr Neil Diamond you are welcome every Saturday night in fact you are welcome anytime i have been your loving fan for over 60 years i listen to your songs every day my son even tells me than i have an obsession with you, can't help myself when i hear your voice i become another person i feel that you are close by. God has really given you the most amazing talent please try never to stop singing or if you can just talk so i can hear your voice it is keeping me alive, am 80. He sold out Croke Park in 1984 (35,000), sold out the RDS for 10 nights in 1989(>60,000), Sold out Croke Park for 2 nights in 1994 (70,000), sold out Croke Park in 1996 (40,000), sold out the Point for 6 nights in 1999 (>50,000) and sold out Lansdowne Road twice in 2002 (>70,000). Not bad for an 'old man'.

Life long fan of Neil Diamond, and the "12 Songs" album this comes from is his best since Hot August Night - BUT - this here is a truly dire performance of one of the top songs on the album! Dull, lifeless, dreary - all the lightness and sparkle on the studio version is totally missing , in its place a mechanical dirge, as if he's on a double dose of Valium. Or just very tired.
