That is true about the weight limits. It is definitely a problem these days for souvenirs. I always try to find the smallest things for friends and family or send post cards. I'm going with my sister and we are starting in Edinburgh, then north west to Oban, then to Isle of Skye, then east to Inverness, then south again back to Edinburgh. My sister has been before, but didn't see the Highlands, so we are going to do that this trip. She loved it there. I'm sure I will, too. Getting away is always nice. :)
Ha! I'm from Toronto and live in Edinburgh (the locals pronounce it more like "Edin-bra" and less like Scarborough...). Yep, Burgers and Beers is on the Royal Mile. The beauty of Edinburgh is you can almost walk from one end to another. I live just down from the castle! You had some decent weather last week, lucky you aren't here now. Enjoy the rest of your travels!

I am really happy to hear Phil thank you so much :) I never used to be proud of the fact that I am from NL but I have learned that sometimes you have to move away before you can see that you took it all for granted :) I can now say that I am proud to be Dutch for the first time in my life after disconnecting my past from the country it happened in. Very liberating to say the least! hahaha that's okay, you can be selfish about it :P hahaha .Chris is feeling much better thank you for that!
So glad you enjoyed Scotland!! Next time you come visit go to the Trossachs national park (around Loch Lomond), and definitely head to the north west, there are so many beautiful places there, especially if you make it to the Hebridean isles (Islay, Eig, Skye etc). Enjoy being home - the Netherlands are so lovely - studied in Leiden & had such a fun time there :) x

Oh nice! That is very awesome :) Yeah I was very fortunate that Chris decided to book tickets for both of us and was able to afford this entire 5 weeks holiday! He worked insanely hard though before we got to go back to visit my family (for him after almost 4 years) in NL and fly over to Scotland. I always wanted to visit Scotland too but it was worth the 16 years wait from when i first had that desire ^_^ I truly hope you can make it happen as well in the future! Hi you! Welcome back :D We are doing very well celebrating holiday combined with work :) So fortunate that we work online! I actually always have freckles, always had but they come out even more when I tanned a little.They are also more visible when I film in daylight so maybe that's why you can really see them now! The way you describe it, your trip to Scotland sounds like it was an adventurous journey. The food and scenery and castles must have been beautiful to experience. Those antique books were a delight to see I'm sure. Do you plan on purchasing one of those antique books? It's understandable that the Netherlands is where you're heart is, but it's nice to travel and see distant far away places. btw, Did you pick up the Scottish accent while in Scotland? lol Just joking.
You know what? I could have picked it up (obviously not fluent in 5 days) but I discovered I was able to make a choice and tell myself no :P I pick up accents really easy (give it max 2 weeks) but I think that I do not want to make that my main accent eventhough it's nice to listen too while being there :) I think I said in the video I didn't end up buying any books cause I couldn't decide what I wanted to buy! There were to many but maybe one day ;) It is nice to travel indeed! This is the first time I traveled country I haven't been to again after my immigration. Last time I traveled to a foreign country was in 2012 when I went to Canada for the first time before living there. It has been itching all those years so I am happy and it's nice indeed that I got to see a foreign country again after all those years (for me that is a lot of years considering in am 29 anyhow ^_^)

I have never heard American people pronounce it but I am Dutch and have struggled to pronounce it right the entire trip and kinda just gave up on it cause in the end people do know which city I mean ^_^

The only thing i can remember now from the trip was that for the longest time i could only eat mayonnaise from Scotland, that went on for like 2 years my mother had to tell me that any mayo that i had was from some special town in Scotland lol. Next time you come visit go to the Trossachs national park (around Loch Lomond), and definitely head to the north west, there are so many beautiful places there, especially if you make it to the Hebridean isles (Islay, Eig, Skye etc). Enjoy being home - the Netherlands are so lovely - studied in Leiden & had such a fun time there :) x

Oh nice! That is very awesome :) Yeah I was very fortunate that Chris decided to book tickets for both of us and was able to afford this entire 5 weeks holiday! He worked insanely hard though before we got to go back to visit my family (for him after almost 4 years) in NL and fly over to Scotland. I always wanted to visit Scotland too but it was worth the 16 years wait from when i first had that desire ^_^ I truly hope you can make it happen as well in the future! I actually always have freckles, always had but they come out even more when I tanned a little.They are also more visible when I film in daylight so maybe that's why you can really see them now! The way you describe it, your trip to Scotland sounds like it was an adventurous journey. The food and scenery and castles must have been beautiful to experience. Those antique books were a delight to see I'm sure. Do you plan on purchasing one of those antique books? It's understandable that the Netherlands is where you're heart is, but it's nice to travel and see distant far away places. btw, Did you pick up the Scottish accent while in Scotland? lol Just joking.
You know what? I could have picked it up (obviously not fluent in 5 days) but I discovered I was able to make a choice and tell myself no :P I pick up accents really easy (give it max 2 weeks) but I think that I do not want to make that my main accent eventhough it's nice to listen too while being there :)
I think I said in the video I didn't end up buying any books cause I couldn't decide what I wanted to buy! There were to many but maybe one day ;) It is nice to travel indeed! This is the first time I traveled country I haven't been to again after my immigration.
Last time I traveled to a foreign country was in 2012 when I went to Canada for the first time before living there. It has been itching all those years so I am happy and it's nice indeed that I got to see a foreign country again after all those years (for me that is a lot of years considering in am 29 anyhow ^_^)

.When i was young i visited Scotland. The only thing i can remember now from the trip was that for the longest time i could only eat mayonnaise from Scotland, that went on for like 2 years my mother had to tell me that any mayo that i had was from some special town in Scotland lol.
