    I have some trees near eastern horizon. So I will not be able tio slew it near horizon. have to go some degrees up. But don't know if it will be accurate

      The western horizon works as well! If both horizons are blocked, then going up a few degrees is no problem and the alignment should still work fine. I hope this helps you!

    Should the mount be turned on for sidereal tracking for the drift alignment procedure?

    • @galaxyofastrophotography

      Yes, it should be turned on during the procedure. The software will turn off tracking automatically, when the drift is measured. However, tracking will be useful whilst adjusting the mount, as it will keep the stars in place. I haven't tried it yet, but it should also work just as fine with tracking turned off. I hope this helps!

    Looks like u can't Drift Align without a connected mount? I tried but when I click align, it asks for a connected mount. I thought I could slew the mount manually and still drift align. Not true?

    Good video. Will this method work on a star tracker? Thanks

    Say your mount is perfectly aligned but you guide scope is not, will that make a difference?

    • @galaxyofastrophotography
      @galaxyofastrophotography  2 года назад

      I don´t think that would make a difference, as the guide scope only adjusts for the relative movement of the stars. The alignment for the mount only affects automatic tracking.
