Klymaxx - "I'd Still Say Yes" (Extended Remix)

- Опубликовано: 15 ноя 2009
- Hard-to-find extended version of this great song! Taken from the promotional 12" single. Additional vocals by Howard Hewett.
Written by K. Edmonds, G. Scelsa, and Fenderella. Remixed by Fenderella and Hill Swimmer.
In the unlikely event that Bernadette Cooper and the rest of the band should ever bury their differences with Cheryl Cooley, this song should be their "make-up" song that they perform live.... it would really work.
Did any of y'all see VH-1's "Bands Reunited" or (more recently) TV One's "Unsung" special? It's so unfortunate that misunderstandings and perhaps greed should keep them apart. Here's hoping they'll find forgiveness in their hearts for each other and reunite. No one lives forever, and dead is dead. They shared and built something so special together for so long, and it's such a shame to mar that legacy with lawsuits and bitterness when they should all be revelling in that legacy at this point in their lives, and enjoying the fruits of what they set in motion three decades ago!!
Okay, stepping off the soapbox now... ;-) Видеоклипы
MY FAVORITE KLYMAXX SONG
I love these ladies grew up listening to them... Songs that I will play 4 the rest of my life....
This song is amazing but with Howard Hewett, takes it to a level that cant be described.. he is just superb! Thanks for sharing this version
REAL MUSIC.I REST MY CASE.
Holy crap!!! I freaking love love love this song!!! Came across it accidently as part of a playlist I'm listening to...almost skipped it until I realized what it was!!! Too many memories!!! I'll be listening to this all day!!!
The best jam to reminisce to...
♥️
A classic 80's jam. Howard adds such a killer back-up vocal. It really takes me back. I once heard an 80 year old woman request this song for her recently deceased husband. Ouch. Why can't music be like this anymore?
...ouch indeed... wow... that really hit me just now...
Still one of my favorites!
Babyface wrote, produced, and performed the smoothest slow jams back in the day! This is just one of the many gems he worked on. All his songs are truly inspirational. Man, I would love to meet him someday. Simply, a legend
Two Occasions by The Deele including Babyface, also on SOLAR Records like Klymaxx
♥️
I just Love me sum Love songs from The Old School era , it makes u want to cry

Such an amazing song by these amazing artists..."Say Yessss!!!"
Man I was in the 6th grade when I would hear Tom Joyner playing this in the morning on K104 before I got ready for school. This was fall 86-spr 87, I love this extended version!!!!
A perfect wedding song .... I have always loved this song!
...and an even more perfect anniversary song! "I'd STILL say yes..." You see?
This was my song for our first dance. We’re divorced now but I listen to it all the time. I love this song.❤️
@@Tre404 Exactly it's my anniversary song.
I drove my mother CrAzY with this song. I would sing it every morning before I went to school and when I got home. LO!
His name is Howard Hewitt....possibly THE most underrated male vocalist ever!
Look up, "A Night to Remember" Shalamar...
You're right about Howard Hewitt, He is for me the best male vocal ever, sing also on the best romance song I have ever heard "Heaven send"with Stanley Clarke ! Listen al to that song and hear that's treu !!!!
My favorite Howard Hewitt..."I'm for Real"...
♥️
I can love this song forever..."Say Yess."
This song brings it all back yet it never faded, left! Love you forever babes! Darn right I have no regrets! I do it all again!

OMG!!! THANK U SO MUCH FOR THIS MIX! I HAVE NEVER EVER HEARD THIS VERSION AND I AM A HUGE KLYMAXX FAN! THIS WILL BE MY NEW JAM FOR YEARS! I LOVE HOWARD HEWITT! TOO BAD HE'S STR8. (I THINK) LOL
This song came out when I was in high school, and I remember crying every time I heard it! Lol! It’s such a beautiful song. Still love it AND I still tear up whenever I hear it 🥲.
Came out when I was in high school, too... and it was mostly the amazing chord progression and vocal arrangement that would make me well up then, and still does. Such great technical triumph, along with EMOTION in both instrumentation and vocal performance! Holy crap.... yes... it still affects me like that. And mine was the very FIRST example of this extended version on RUclips! 🙂
I hear this song in my head from time to time. All these years didn't know it was klymaxx
Loved this song since I was a kid, I almost lost it when someone thought The Braxton's version was original!
awesome song , this is one of my favorite from klymaxx : )
This song came out way after Klymaxx did meeting in the ladies room album. I remember being in San Francisco listening to this song. Howard Hewitt is an awesome singer!! Fenderalla is an amazing singer. She's great for the lead.
Yep! Joyce "Fenderella" Irby. Glad you enjoyed it!
I put this track up against the top 10 love songs of all time
Oh wow, I can't believe I forgot about this song!!!! Sang it Joyce & Howard!!!!!
REAL Love Ballads, at its finest!!!!
I just watched "Unsung" . Great story, It explained way more than "Bands Reunited" about their break up.
Its a shame how short-lived their music careers as a group were. They were very talented, all of them! However, as mentioned, EGO's get in the way.... They should have been bigger than they were!
Enjoyed it while it lasted :)
Howard Hewett is just astonish with his vioce pure natural singer.
Straight beast..same talent as bobby debarge el james ingram and gerald levert
♥️
I went krazy on this, back in the day. Bought the album, as I couldn't get the single in the UK. Still krazy to this day. Love Klymaxx.
"Say yes," this is the extended version....I love it love it...
I still "Say yes."
Thank You! Thank You!!! This brings back so many memories of my senior prom❤️
Sound just as good today as it did when it first came out 70s baby checking in😗
Awesome, The amazing voice of Howard Hewitt !!!!!
this song is pricelesssssssssssssssss
Yep. Howard Hewett of Shalamar. Howard has been doing his own thing for many years and, as stated, is possibly the most underrated tenor voice out there. In the late 80's, early 90's, everybody was using Howard on their songs because it guaranteed the songs to be hits. And on Fenderella's voice, Joe Jackson went to Fenderella complaining that she sounded like Michael. Her reply was classic: "I take that as a compliment, and no offense, but do I sound like a girl?" Joe: "Yes!" Fenderella: "Does Michael sound like a girl?" Joe: "Yes!" Fenderella: "I rest my case!" LOL!!!! Joyce says she gets that even to this day. When she did Michael Jackson's party celebrating his posthumous 55th birthday, she was asked to perform a Michael Jackson song , Katherine came over and thanked her and said she sounded so much like Michael. But her voice is her voice. Although she liked Mike, she didn't set out to imitate his voice.
Robert L Hughes interesting story.
♥️
w😮w

@JHatch65 oh wow...now that's touching, about the 80 year old woman requesting this song for her recently deceased husband and it's an appropriate one too. this song brings back many a wonderful memory of summertime in chicago in the 80's back in the day when music was made and artists truly knew how to sing. it's a wonderful time in my life that i'd love to get back.
damn i love this song
Nothing like old school!! 🥰
Nice one! Say yes to u again... :)
Lindy, today and everyday of my life, I,d Still say YES. I miss you more everyday, rip my angel.
Glad you like it! I think mine is the only example of this mix here on YT! So far, anyway.
Howard Hewett Show is it real classical beautiful different climax is the ultimate classic R&B of the 1980s when I grow up

@TheZanyMind Tx 4 the info. Didn't know where I could find this version til now. Gonna buy it on iTunes now!
And Don't forget that Howard Hewett and Shalamar videos are on You Tube.
linda musica
For those who may not know 'Fenderella' was the nick name for Joyce Irby, the lead singer on this song and 'I Miss you'.
@RAP1911 ... Glad you finally found this mix! And that I could make it happen! :-)
Joyce "Finderella" Irby and Howard Hewett wrote "Heart Break" for Shalamar's 8th album "Heart Break" in 1984 which is Howard's last album he did with Shalamar.
Fenderella
I do it all again ......i`d still say yes ......
@porkisgood4u This was big when I was just turning 17 in 1987 and was my high school me and my high school sweetheart's song.
Funny how a song can make you remember the good things about a person you have long since not thought highly of. lol
GO FENDERELLA!!!!!!
@Tre404 One of those co-writers was Joyce Fenderealla Irby who sing leads on this classic
Lol it's very funny that you mention the song "Come Back". That's my favorite song from their 2nd album. Fenderella didn't sing it though; I think the lead vocalist on that song was Karen ... something. But in any case, that is a very beautiful song
love to sing this song to a lover i lost years ago due to my insecureties...
👍👍👍
Say YESss
thank ya! :)
I Wish I Had A Good Woman In My Life To DanceThis Song. And A Possible Proposal To This Song. Its So Beautiful.
Sing your asses off Joyce and Howard!
@weveseenit .... thought it was just me! :-) For me, the goosebumps begin at "...if I wanted love back agaaaaaaiiiiiinnnnnn..." .....love that!!
Very cool, Ketsy. :-)
the slick329....istill say yes only 1 person i'd say yes too
A lovely version. Check out the Braxton's version (Toni Braxton's sisters) also.
lovin this song at 4:33 * (had to clarify this post lol)
@porkisgood4u ... Now, THAT would be a lot of fun! I have many of their songs on 12" vinyl as dance remixes from back in the day. That would be awesome! And after the Klymaxx music is exhausted, we could put on The Whispers, Shalamar, Lakeside, Dynasty... all those SOLAR artists.. :-)
@sweetjannine ... along with G. Scelsa, and Fenderella! Gotta give full credit!
@TheZanyMind ... (mustering my best Dana-Carvey-Johnny-Carson) ... I did not know that! That is wild.... lol... for real, didn't know this track was that easy to find! And here I am toiling over my turntables and computer..... *smh* .......thanks for the info! :)
@LAWoman323213 ... Yes, Robbin Grider has had significant drug-addiction issues, to the extent that she's lost her teeth and everything else. It's very sad. I still love her too, and hope that things have gotten better for her since the specials aired.
@kmjonesful .... no doubt! I wonder how much of this song G.Scelsa and Fenderella actually wrote!
