Salut mon ami Ross! Comment ca va? Je vais toujours bien! Alrighty; this is your buddy from the States, Guerry. What a beautiful day it was when you videoed this. I was definitely the perfect day to suck down jet exhaust, and I truly miss that experience. It would be so nice for the airports to again open up observation platforms. I wonder why our countries haven't relaxed in a way similar to Germany. For if you have ever watched videos from Frankfurt Airport, the airport has observation sets of bleachers in some exceptionally nice vantage points for photography and videography. Your video for today did have me doing some research on some new locations. For example, there are Abbotsford, BC and Zaragoza, Spain. Both look like some nice cities which are remote enough, so that outside of them one can get a good feel for the folks who live in those areas. The one capture you made that had me harken back a few years was Delta's B-717 headed for Ft. Lauderdale. Before the Douglas Company merged with McDonald Douglas and finally with Boeing, Delta had absolutely nothing to do with Boeing for some reason. I remember when the company put up the sign in Atlanta, "Fly Delta Jets", and its fleet consisted of DC-9's, DC-8's, and CV-880's. Now I see that with the exception of the 737's, Delta is again abandoning Boeing in favor of Airbus. I do not know why, but for me it is an interesting move by the company. One other thing about that Delta flight is a recommendation to you and anyone else who has read this far. For anyone interested in heading to the Miami area, I highly suggest flying into Ft. Lauderdale rather than into Miami. The Ft. Lauderdale airport is much smaller and easier to transverse than the HUGE Miami International. Furthermore, Ft. Lauderdale is only about 30 miles north of Miami area. Anyway, as always I enjoyed your video. Thank-you for sharing, and I'll see you at your next post!
Hi Guerry, as usual it is a pleasure seeing your descriptive comments on my videos. It sure was a beautiful day weatherwise and in terms of aircraft variety. I agree, it would be nice for airports in the US and Pearson to be more spotter-friendly like Europe. Our actual official spotting platform is actually about 10 km from the airport!!! I have never, ever been to that platform, and it opened in 2016. I am glad that my Delta clip reminded you of what Delta was many years ago, consisting of DCs and CVs and no Boeing aircraft. I also find it interesting seeing that Delta's widebody fleet is switching to all-Airbus in the future, while United and American seem to be sticking with predominately Boeing for now, until United get A350s in 2027 tentative, and Boom in the 2030s. I will note that if I ever get the chance to go to that area of Florida, so thanks for that suggestion. In fact, the cheap Canadian airlines serve FLL as opposed to MIA so this would be a no-brainer. Thanks again for your compliments and I hope you have a great rest of the week!
There are several public roads that surround the airport. The place he was at was one of those roads, at approximately the south west corner of the airport. The planes were taking off from one of the south side runways in a west-east direction.
@@brianmcdonald6519 thanks a lot.. I’m thinking of spotting there sometime soon myself.. so i just wanted to know a good spot where I’m able to see plenty of action!
@@BelizeanOnBoard Best to do a google earth of the airport, then find out which way they are going on any given day. If traffic happens to be east-west, there is a good place to watch from on the east side of the airport.
Wow! That AC 220 with the Trans Canada Livery was superb! Thank you
So incredibly special to see the Star Of David climb to the endless heavens , thank you kindly for sharing such wonderful sights
