- Do you remember this classic kids quiz show, presented by Debbie Greenwood on BBC in 1988?
Do you remember the classic videogames featured on the show, such as Konami's classic button basher HYPERSPORTS and Atari's classic skateboard game 720 DEGREES?
If so, your in for a treat, ripped from the Eighties and presented to you in 2012.
I present to you ..FIRST CLASS!! :)

I have been searching for the name of this show for many years! I was only 6 when it first aired, and I only had vague memories about the old Hyper Sports vault section.
Excellent find!
I’ve been looking for this show for years, I remember watching it back in the day
I was on this! I think it was the season after as we didn't have the skateboarding but Paperboy. I was on with Chryston and we beat Craigroyston of Edinburgh before losing on a tiebreaker to Regis of Wolverhampton. So close to that BBC Micro and a celebrity show with Adam Woodyat, Paul J Medford and Letitia Dean!
You don’t happen to have any footage from it?
Finally found this, lol... i remember them showing Paperboy and "Eugene Ready"... don't recall it being 1988, thought it was only 1986ish...
My, how time flies....
I was on this programme!
Ahh! Memories. My favourite game in this series was Paperboy. i remember that the overall winners at the end of the series then came back for one more game against a celebrity team. In the first season the winners were up against three members of the cast of grange hill and in the second season they were up against three members of the cast of EastEnders!
This is an early 1988 episode from the British game show "First Class" on BBC. The two school teams competing on this episode Torquay & Northamptonshire. 🇬🇧 🇬🇧
Wow I totally forgot about this programme . Used to play Hyper sports to death down the local Arcade .
First Class was Epic
Foxy Debbie Greenwood.
Classic title music there: 'Platinum' by Mike Oldfield. Must have been a time when he had both this and the Blue Peter theme on air.
Sorry to nit-pick but the track is "Airbourne", the album is Platinum. I remember being at a mate's house in the 90s and going through his mum's LPs. We found Platinum and put it on, I was like "Holy f*** this is the title tune from First Class!"
Not only a girl gamer in the 1980's, but kicking the boys' assess too :)
That apparently matters so much to you🤷♂️
Remember this well! Love the Mike Oldfield theme tune.
DazManCat from his 1979 album Platinum
Who gives a toss about the show, Debbie was so fit
My favourite is Hyper Sports
Mike Oldfield's Platinum as the theme tune and a logo later used - presumably coincidentally - as the cover for Pink Floyd's The Division Bell.
Theme tune is "Platinum" by Mike Oldfield.
Airbourne, in fact. Part One of Platinum.
Excellent find!!! I think later on they used paperboy to.
OMG i liked this show, hell great times in the 80's :)
Thank you so much for putting this up!
I thought this show was a figment of my imagination!
i was exactly the same nobody ever could remember this show. i was very young but had paperboy on the speccy so loved seeing the arcade version on tv.
Ooh i remember this, been trying to remembe the damn name for a while now.
Video tape at home and online over the years, I have the whole episodes that these are pieced from :)
thanks! i loved this!
I've never forgiven Neighbours for replacing this.
Couldn't agree more bruv! :)
I never stated it was.
Neighbours replaced 'Masterteam'.
Debbie is on Twitter now days. I well would.
A young looking Debbie in this programme
bring it back
Always had the hots for Debbie Greenwood as a teenager and she's still pretty tidy even today!
Lol at that Archemides being described as a handsome brute.
Brilliant
Konami track and feind classic
Pre Gamesmaster.
Remember this just for Paper boy.
Debbie greenwood was fit as ****!
You let the side down Matthew on 720😢
I'm sure it's difficult playing "720" without the special joystick used for the game.

*Debbie Greenwood came from Liverpool, so either she is a scouser who has taken elocution lessons or she's from Chester.*
Can't be from Chester if she's from Liverpool
This started on BBC Scotland presented by Louise bachelor.when the BBC in London decided to network the show for the whole UK,they dumped Louise and brought greenwood in.disgraceful action by the been, just because they wanted somebody English to present it.
mark stuart but just like the Murphy's, I'm not bitter ;)
It was a BBC Wales show, the networked show was made in Scotland🤷♂️
2:06 the eternal face of MRA
Didn't they used to paly Paperboy?
Are you talking about Debbie Greenwood or Alix from Torquay?
Debbie Greenwood came from Liverpool, so either she is a scouser who has taken elocution lessons or she's from Chester.
bump! my couin's friend was featured on the show one time too! ;)
