I have a Code 4 in XHP and did notice some minor surface rust on some areas around the pivot. It was my only pocket knife for about three years, and I had it with me every day at work. I worked on a ship based out of north Florida that went out to sea fairly often. After three years of that I moved to a different state and had to get a smaller knife. By that time, the nylon washers Cold Steel puts on top of their bronze washers had gotten squished and allowed for a bit of blade wiggle. I had to order new, thicker washers to fix the issue. It was only after taking the knife apart to swap them that I noticed minor surface rust. If it took three years of crazy humidity, sweat, and salty sea air to cause that tiny bit of rust, I think most people in most places won't have an issue.

I recently picked up an ad-10 when it was on sale for 100 bucks. For that price it's a steal. Very much an outdoors wood working gonna do some sketchy stuff or cut for a long period of time kinda knife. The code 4 seems more geared to be an edc with the thin handles and hollow ground blade, but the inside of the scales is a little on the sharp side on mine. I've had the code 4 for years and it's a great knife. My ad-10 is currently living in my bugout bag, but I'll be taking it out for some camping jackassery soon :D

I think the Ultimate Hunter is better than AD10 at every way.

Ad10 also comes with two clips. Also the handle is way more comfortable. I have both knives and code4 is when I don’t plan to use a knife for the day. If I have plans to work with it I go for the ad10.

I love both! the thing that these two are above the other folder is their steel characteristic with S35VN none come close to that knife category.

My Code4 is made from S35VN, and no longer a hollow grind. I'm a fan.

    There's a big gap in price. Code4 is about $80, not AD10

Curious what you’d think of the Ultimate Hunter. It’s my favorite CS of Recon 1, Code 4, AD-10, AD-15 and it.
Happy to see you’re still enjoying that Code 4 👍🏻
