The meaning of this story by the creators own words is: "That last room was a big grave, surrounded by other grave's. Gold has already been dead. He died presumably a few years after he defeated Red. He was a young trainer who, despite his efforts in collecting so many badges and attempts at be coming a Pokemon master, was still unable to avoid the inevitable fate of death, and his efforts were eventually forgotten by the next generation."
Like how it says “Generation”, not only referring to how generations are every new set of Pokémon games, but how every new family in a bloodline is called a “Generation” (I think)
Something worrisome I've noticed that I don't think I've seen a lot of people mention: The Pikachu that battled in the video used Frustration, a move that grows more powerful the less the user likes its trainer. Pikachu's Frustration as seen in the video took almost all of Celebi's HP. Does that mean Pikachu's been abused?

@Melkac It's never said, "THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE SCARY" anywhere in the story or game. It got labeled as creepypasta by fans, I see it as sad more than anything. Personally, the only thing I found scary was working on this. Creating the music and altering the sprites felt wrong at first, the reveresed Unown music was horrible to listen to at 2AM. So yeah guys, feel proud for not getting scared, just know that it isn't the intention. It's a story that was told, which a lot of people found scary.
This game made me really sad, like Red, Gold and the pokemons of this generation were forgoten by the next generation. I think that was the way they felt after being forgoten...
Here's my ideas for why Silver and Feraligatr say "WHERE?" and "Even..." respectively: WHERE? = Gold and Typhlosion didn't come back from the summit of Mt. Silver, so Feraligatr is wondering where they are or where they've been. Another possibility could be that since he has no eyes, he's asking Gold and Typh where are they, or asking Silver where are they. Even... = Silver is stuck in the same hellish afterlife Gold is, both having no eyes to boot, and being the prick he is, wastes no time in sticking it to him that they're even now.
In my belief at least, it used its child, a Totodile, as a human shield to prevent its death from Hurry, but died of its injuries anyway. Hurry also sustained serious damage from the fight, eventually dying in the Graveyard.
I remember watching this video way back when I was just 10 years old. God, times were different back then... What makes this interesting to me nowadays is the fact that this entire game can be replicated within the same engine as Gold/Silver.
It's almost sadder the way it plays out with the hidden content. It all starts with the one message... "Re-live." The battle with Red ends, you have a final battle with your rival... and with that, Silver's glory days have ended. He's reached the peak of his ability, and for many of us, that's the end of the game. We may go on collecting for a while, but a few years later (about the character's life span, according to the original story), he is all but forgotten. "Who are you kid?" The new trainers have arrived, with new locations and new pokemon... Gold? Who's that? He became the champion, defeated his rival, defeated Red... but for what? People didn't even recognize their hero. What we see are indeed his memories... but I don't believe what we view are cherished memories. We watch his descent into obscurity and depression, his memory of becoming a no-one, becoming... unknown, if you will. So, we next find ourselves at a tall, tall tower... and once more, we are given the chance to turn back in the darkness, to step back from the edge. We can choose to relive those horrid years, or we can take that final step... so, what will it be? "No, no, NO, I won't end it!" or will a simple "yes" be all it takes to give in?
tobix198 Well Red is not much of a talker and he doesn't socialize with people, he does train a lot in Mt.Silver all by himself so people forgets him and don't recognize and as for his mother, of course she would remember him, he is her son after all. ( Sorry for my bad english. )
Also, the decreasing health of his Pokemon was to show that, no matter how long you train them and no matter how powerful they become, in the "reality" of Pokemon, even they will eventually weaken and die, along with their trainers. The increased number of badges is symbolic to how, in the Anime, Red/Ash is constantly traveling and defeating more gym leaders, but it takes up more and more of his life as he does, eventually he'll lose his eye-sight to old age, and inevitably, he'll "fade away."
Even now, this game still somewhat unnerves me. Sure, it uses some tired creepypasta cliches (cursed video game cart with lots of death), but it at least does so in a more subtle way. I think the "Hidden" path is a lot better, since its scare factor comes from things being just plain off (i.e. distorted music, sprites being stripped of things such as their faces and Feraligatr's scales).
How many games of Pokémon have you played? You know know that there are that many bunches of data waiting to serve their purpose in vain, forever rotting in their cartridge or savefile.
i honestly always assumed lost silver had a hidden story hear me out on this I've always believed the in-game story is about gold dying of hypothermia while climbing mount silver, the beginning is his attempt at going to the afterlife, but due to him never getting to fight red, he can't rest in peace and he is essentially stuck in limbo. The rest of the game is him trying to make it out of limbo and to try to finally reach the afterlife, the red near the end of the game is a representation of the dream he never got to complete, hence why it ends in a stalemate. And the ending is a representation of him finally finding peace and ascending into the afterlife
The game is definitely lacking in story as a way for the reader/player to fill in the gaps, making it more engaging. Love reading these theories though, gives the game more depth

And how come that, when exactly Typhlosion gets a regional form, its a Ghost type that its said to guide lost souls to the afterlife? Is there a minuscule chance that whoever created Hisuian Typhlo got inspired by this?
Ok so I think I get this, since I was expecting a jumpscare (thank you creator for not putting them) I couldn't pay attention so well. The thing that I get is just depression. Depression at its finest. Being the best and all that stuff, but at what cost? Does that make you feel alive? You wasted your time? Who are you? Yeah the champion but what about the personality? You feel disgusted by yourself and don't feel as a normal kid, just the champion. And you see suicide as the only option
To be frank, I like this game, despite the fact that I get scared easily by... well, the majority of creepypastas. I think it's because this game does a good job of being creepy with their... creeps. This "creepypasta" doesn't go "BLEH JUMP SCARE RED EYES BLUHBLUHBLUH YOU CAN'T RUN" (which happens to be the ones that scare me the most) yadda-yadda-yadda. They're subtle about it, using a sort-of philosphical approach to it, making you think about the game and why it does what it does. I dunno...
The cycle will keep repeating as long as you deny turning back. I guess, as long as the character keeps denying their death, they're trapped in this nightmare.
The purpose of Lost Silver was to show that with each passing generation, Gold was forgotten and left behind. Ergo, he died more and more within each generation, hence why he had more badges each time he lost a limb or two. By the time of D/P/Pl..he was dead.
I wish more creepypasta was like this, cryptic and puzzling more than outright scary or disturbing. There’s definitely a creepy undertone but I’m more intrigued by how nonsensical it all is. Provides a certain surrealist quality to it all honestly reminds me of Petscop a lot in that way and I wouldn’t be surprised if it took major inspiration from this as I know it did with BEN DROWNED.
So technically that was gold. And he was in let's say a purgatory. So i'm thinking in the Hidden Ending he found out who he was. Cause if you turn back at first you just die, never knowing who you were.
My view of Pokémon has been forever warped from this game. For such a few simple edits and a creepy back story it does a good job of making sure I won't sleep very well.
You must check the signs of the Bike shop and Underground Entrance in the purple city. Those are so important that you can understand whole of this game.
4:04 I think Silver and Feraligatr look really creepy and cool in this one, I think it'd be neat for there to be a story centered around them cuz they do only have 2 lines of dialogue LOL
Silver has a bit of a bigger role in Re: Lost Silver at the end of the second secret path, that was intended to be added by the original creepypasta author but finally got added in a remake of Lost Silver by the original creator of the fangame (Reidd). However, the author never said that he was in the second secret path, but because so little details were given about the second secret route on how it's sequences went, Reidd didn't have much to work with, so decided to add a Silver encounter that fit with the story to end of the secret path. If you don't know what I'm talking about, look up Re: Lost Silver.
After I downloaded and play this game, I had a nightmare. I saw Ethan and Red had no face and they are looking at me. This creepy music (4:59) was playing in my dream.
It's a creepypasta hack, but I figured out the messages in this order: > Too bad > Relive > Please! (Typhlosion) > Help > Who are you kid? > Leave > Hurry > He died > Dying (Celebi) > No more > I'm dead
Maybe it means that in life we meet with a lot of fears, that look frightful and scary, but then, in the end, they are almost always a lot more harmless than what we thought.
I wish I can go through a cave that long without finding one zubat.

Is there a minuscule chance that whoever created Hisuian Typhlo got inspired by this?
Oh man that's crazy to consider, would be incredible if that were true.
*Throws computer across room*
WTF DID I JUST WATCH
Ok so I think I get this, since I was expecting a jumpscare (thank you creator for not putting them) I couldn't pay attention so well.
The thing that I get is just depression. Depression at its finest.
Being the best and all that stuff, but at what cost? Does that make you feel alive? You wasted your time? Who are you? Yeah the champion but what about the personality? You feel disgusted by yourself and don't feel as a normal kid, just the champion. And you see suicide as the only option
I remember watching this way back when it was uploaded. Still one of my favorites all these years later.
yes, thank you!
i want someone to speedrun this for some reason
ruclips.net/video/HIYzA0m2L24/видео.html looking back 7 years this isn't the most accurate definition of a speedrun
It's scary, because it shows how Gold fights for being the best and he dies when the next generation of Pokemon games comes.
4:06 when dead body is reported
LOL
pretty sus ngl
"NOMORE" for when you're finished with the game and finished as a trainer, he has died.
I love how only choosing "No" makes the game loop. It's like Gold can't accept his death.
It's not that gold doesn't accept death, he is holding onto his memories in sweet death
@@Matyas_Ceo_Of_Matyas Holy shit, that's sadder.
this is MY JAM *listens to the lost silver music and somewhat seems to enjoy it*
This thing goes much deeper than I would've thought. I thought it was only about 5 mins of content.
The sound in the beginning makes my arm twitch O-O
I thought I was the only one! Well my face (in between my nose and cheek) twitches when I hear Unown's song!
My anxiety rises up when the radio unknown was speeding up
haha it was a bit creepy
i was watching this video the other day and my sister pulled the plug and i just flipped out because i thought that my computer was haunted
Hi
I would have shut the game off the second I turned it on
where's the fun in that? :)
I like how you included the eyeless Sleeping Feralgatr in the video. I only knew about that fight from Hypno’s Lullaby.
lol that FNF thing really brought in new people didn't it
4:06 OW, NOW I GET THE HYPNO'S LULLABY REFERENCE
Thats the deepest and most amazing pokemon story ever...and most sad.
I dunno...
I began to understand what it symbolises...
This is the most morbid and depressing story now.
The cycle will keep repeating as long as you deny turning back.
I guess, as long as the character keeps denying their death, they're trapped in this nightmare.
The theme at 0:30 will forever haunt me, no song will ever be as scary as this simple theme
Thanks for keeping this up. Brings back memories.
OMG when he started walking backwards and it said "hurry has" i got the chills!
1:37 TOO BAD
1:49 RELIVE
2:21 XXXX
5:00 HELP
6:48 WHO ARE YOU KID
7:25 XXXXX
8:14 LEAVE
9:06 HEDIED
9:34 DYING
11:19 NOMORE
12:03 IMDEAD
got em all
The purpose of Lost Silver was to show that with each passing generation, Gold was forgotten and left behind.
My favorite part in pokemon Gold and Silver was when Silver said to the player "even" truly one of the gaming moments of all time
Red: (at the begin of the battle) LA LA LA LA
Red: (at the end of the battle) AHH I CHOPPED OFF MY HEAD
Im on the floor laughing
+IceCreamKitteh
BEFORE THAT!
Gold: sup re- oh you just teleported away
Gold: OH FUCK MY FACE IS GONE
*Gold's typhlosion explodes*
OK WHAT IF I HAD MY ARMS CHOPPED OFF. WOULD THAT MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER
I GUESS NOT
So technically that was gold.
4:10 So this is where the Hypno’s Lullaby Insomnia song took place.
I don't believe so tbh
@@ReiddMaxwell Either way, new sub!
@@LeafyJolt Sick thank you so much! :D
@@ReiddMaxwell No problem man!
Okay, creepypasta fans and theorists: can someone explain the battle with Red and his 255 Pikachu vs your Celebi?
It's a cursed sad pikachu?
Me about 8 years ago: this ain't that scary
Me now: (insert spongebob hash slinging slasher scream here)
I need to re-learn my unknowns
Watching this with Christmas stock moozak on in the background. Surrealest shit ever, man.
You must check the signs of the Bike shop and Underground Entrance in the purple city. Those are so important that you can understand whole of this game.
Red been Like
wow that was dark this battle really took a left turn
Very, very, very well done creepypasta. Kudos.
Also somehow reminds me of undertale vibes.
Oh so thats where insomnia was made
this is not how pokemons works.
its a hack

@@Randus1058 Go. Go back. Back to Reddit, you go.
I like how pikachu used frustration, and then celebi used pain split right after
I am also a fan of those to moves.
Ah, i still remember watching this for the 1st time
2:59 Music silver cave style vaporwave
If you don't know what I'm talking about, look up Re: Lost Silver.
yeah if you look up the sequel Re: Lost Silver you'll have a bit more to look at
Happy Halloween
Hurry's death was even sadder the second time because I knew what was coming T_T
After I downloaded and play this game, I had a nightmare. I saw Ethan and Red had no face and they are looking at me. This creepy music (4:59) was playing in my dream.
lost silver dreams? dang das kinda sick tbh
what the fuck was that? :O
a hack
It's a creepypasta hack, but I figured out the messages in this order:
> Too bad
> Relive
> Please! (Typhlosion)
> Help
> Who are you kid?
> Leave
> Hurry
> He died
> Dying (Celebi)
> No more
> I'm dead
S. K. (Rom hack )
Is what
Creepy stuff :b
Maybe it means that in life we meet with a lot of fears, that look frightful and scary, but then, in the end, they are almost always a lot more harmless than what we thought.
Its really so scared; but is a awesome video T-T
