@guess who? People were MUCH nicer, 30-40 years ago . . . There are still a few of them left, BUT a LOT of them are "BARNEY FIFE" Liberals, frothing at the mouth to make sure the fish is RELEASED UNHARMED . . . If you don't believe me, watch the reactions if you say you are going to KEEP THE FISH !
It always impresses me how humble you are. You are an expert fisherman and sometimes experts get that a little funny about being told how to do something even if it is just tangentially related to their expertise. You know what I mean? You always seem to stay humble and accept outside input. It’s refreshing to see and is awesome.
Congrats on the Permit Matt ,That was insane ,I live 2 miles from there and have caught permit from the beach but small ones while Pomp fishing, I had No idea we had those giants right under my nose. Thanks for sharing ..
Matt, I have enjoyed watching your vids for ten months now. Loved the old vids as well as the new content each time you post. Learned a ton too, that I can't wait to put into action. All that to write that this might be my favorite yet!!! Awesome catch, and great that Court was there too!
Way too go Matt ! That fish gave ya a work-out fer sure. Nice of ya ta give the fish away . A true sportsman ! Hope you and Courtney enjoy yer selves in FL. and have a SAFE trip back home. Tom Daytona Beach, FL. 30, July 2020 .
Great video, that permit kicked your butt, welcome back to the East coast of Florida, Growing up in South fla , I use to fish for those monsters in the Keys, now am living on NW gulf coast, it's a whole different fishing world down there,it's always great to experience different places to fish in Florida , Fishing capital of world Matt, Lol,, u might change your name to Florida Beach Bum, its good that u and your wife are enjoying y'all self. ,,,, Stay Safe God Bless,,,
Congrats on an awesome catch! You are 100% right that those fish look like pompano on steroids! Let your wife know that if you all can make it to the Outer Banks of North Carolina during the fall drum run she can witness what I call the pier end ballet! 40+ men and women all casting out waiting for a bull drum to pick up your offering. Once someone hooks up, they could be in the middle of the pack and have to weave over and under 20 or so people to get to the outside, just to have the drum change direction and go the other way. The cooperation between fishermen on the end of the pier that time of year is really a spectacle to see. Then there are the 50+ inch bulls from the beach, but that's a whole different story. Congrats again on the permit!
Oh my Goodness, what a huge freakin FISH!!!! It took a village to catch it, but WOW, I am impressed! One of the biggest fish I have seen off a pier in some time! Congratulations Matthew, a PB for sure!
Really cool to see all the other guys on the pier helping out, and making sure you got land that monster! Also...really nice of y'all to let that other guy take it home for his family. I know what that's like right now...to be worried about putting food on the table. My wife was laid off 3 weeks ago...and we're living off of savings, my monthly disability check and unemployment. Haven't gotten SNAP yet...so having to be creative in planning meals.
Aloha, your friend has nice gear! I use both Lamiglass and Newell. They cost a little more, but they last. Nice pier comaraderie, good to see. Stud permit.
Excellent videos keep up the good work, entertaining and educational, I fish ponds in Illinois Kentucky, some reservoirs, I'm in my truck so I can't get to a lot of places, recommend a rod and reel, what type of, tackle box, backpack????? Thank you!!
Damn bro super awesome camera work, and damn very nice catch. I love how you make it a family activity. Cool that you caught it right in the last minute, definitely fisherman luck on your lines lol. Keep it up man

That's what real fisherman's do is help out each other
I know Gulf Shores pier is like that, too. Even to me and I only get to go once every couple of years.
