Polo Fits: TravisMathew vs Greyson Clothiers
Let’s talk polo fits. One of the most important things to men when it comes to wearing clothing is t¬he fit. Men tend to buy the same brand because they know that it fits and they don’t have to try it on. The walk in a store, know what size fits them and buy it. No need to try on. When they want to try a new brand or something different, that’s tricky because every brand doesn’t fit the same.
I help my clients every day find what polo or pant size they should buy because I have learned how certain brands fit. Based on this, I can help them find the right size and less the amount of clothes they have to try on.
I want to help explain the fit difference between two popular brands (TravisMathew & Greyson Clothiers) I carry in my shop. They don’t fit at all alike. But don’t fret. It’s easy to figure out.
TravisMathew
I measured polos in each size from TravisMathew and here is what the actual polo measures:

Small - 38.5 inches
Medium - 42 inches
Large - 44 inches
XLarge - 47 inches
Greyson Clothiers
I measured polos in each size from Greyson Clothiers and here is what the actual polo measures:

Small - 40 inches
Medium - 44 inches
Large - 46 inches
XLarge - 52 inches
When I compared the sizes and fits in each brand, the Greyson polos fit larger. What that means is if you wear a large polo in TravisMathew, and you want a similar fit in Greyson. Don’t buy a large in Greyson. You want to buy a medium size polo in Greyson to fit like a large in TravisMathew.
If you wear a size small polo in Greyson Clothiers and you want to buy a TravisMathew polo (and want a similar fit). Don’t buy a size small; you want to buy a size medium in TravisMathew because Greyson fits more generous than TravisMathew. You need to go up to a size medium in TravisMathew to fit more comfortably. The small would be too tight.
Keep in mind different fabrics may react differently. However, overall if you want a similar fit between the brands, follow these guidelines.

2- button up all the buttons and lay flat.
3- measure the chest - right below the armhole and straight across.
4- double the number (for from and back measurement). This is the chest measurement.
5- look at the measurements above to see what size to get in each brand.
