It's a great introduction to the basic version of the kick. The advanced concepts video takes it to a whole new level.
How do i get my kicking leg higher (any stretches you recomend?) as well as increase speed and really whip the leg?
My first question would be how high is higher? a good martially aware MDC shouldn't need to be any higher then the rib cage of ones opponent when they are standing feet together.
stretching is important for speed, range of joint motion of the kick. Also for aesthetics and efficient function of the movement.
I am also a yoga teacher and personal trainer so in time I will introduce some hip opening videos wit focus on strength, mobility and flexibility.
If you wanted to send me video of your kick I would be able to assess areas for improvement and offer strategies to help you to achieve them.
