I swear I made the same comment on the Button Check vid that featured your tweet. Literally EVERYONE agreed with you about the game not being as honest as people like to say, which was the only point you were making, but came back with "what about this" statements like: "yeah it wasn't honest but the execution made player expression so good" or "yeah the vortex is the same type of guess situation, but you had to get knockdown to get it", or "yeah, but the community was the best it ever was during the sf4 era, it had the best fgc moments". I'm sitting here like "so we all agree then that the game wasn't honest?". What it really comes down to is when you state it wasn't as "honest" as people like to say, the sf4 vets hear it wasn't as "good" as people like say. No one said that brother, that's you projecting.
MenaLarD wasn’t even around in the SF4 era. People look back at SF4 with rose tinted glasses. I love SF4 but they really love to pretend it was all footsies and fundamentals when that is very much not the case. Pros are just mad because they aren’t guaranteed a top spot anymore, if you don’t execute in SF6 you can get beaten by someone who isn’t as good as you. But they’re still good players.
at my first SF4 local got 3rd place at dibbz eliminating your best friend noisychild and got eliminated by Toi 2-1. He played Guile, realized I knew what i was doing and switched to chun lol. I was the #1 ranked guy on PC. I say all this to say: Anyone who says any version of SF4 was honest, did not play it at a high level. Point blank period
A lot of MK community love to talk about and praise MKX but at the time I remember it being criticized constantly for all its 50/50s, lack of balance around variations and certain characters, annoyances around the krypt and whatever else. But now it’s on a pedestal because nostalgia is a hell of a drug and new game bad, old game good mentalities that seem to affect so many franchises. Remember when SF6 and Tekken 8 were the best fighting games ever? Boy did that change in the eyes of many. It’s a tough crowd lol
I think there are two main factors why SF4 BS is accepted among the community. 1. As mentioned in the video, hard execution. Even if you knew the setup, you might drop it due to the game not being friendly enough in that aspect. 2. Nostalgia factor. This is vastly ignored but people loved the fame because it was the first that got them into the genre. So it's hard for them to accept constructive feedback on the game they cherish the most. I am one of those guys who got into fighting game with Sf4, but I do recognise that the game was full of BS, the difference is in the accessibility of it - No buffer, no modern control etc..
Viper was the only character that was crazy and only one person I forgot their name was good with them. No wait maybe 🤔 3, that was very good with Viper.
This actually made me want to go back and boot the game (I still have my physical copy) but then i remembered how much I hated this game 🤣😏 good vid my rage has been re-ignited.
If you played this game at a decent to high level, there is no way in hell you call this game honest. Nothing but vortex and OS and unlockable in rare cases. However, it does have more footies and a more free flow component then sf5 and sf6. Generally, most times when a player got in on you, you did something wrong and you were put in a bad spot cause of mistake. It's not like in sf6 with a player just decided to DR and neutral skip into mix up. Yes sf4 also had forms of neutral skip but they weren't as oppressive as DR in sf6. I believe if they fixed raw DR in sf6 ALOT more ppl will feel like u need "footies" and not just constantly neutral skip from universal mechanic.
I think the reason people like Street Fighter 4 over the later entry’s is because of FGC Nostalgia. This really was the game that changed everything forever. SF4 will always be the goat for that. Street Fighter 5 & 6 has Drive Rush and V Trigger as ways to deal with neutral with just one button. Which is a problem because all the characters can do it, so every game feels the same. Street Fighter 4’s FADC mechanic doesn’t really have these issues. You pretty much need to either zone, play neutral, or use your CHARACTERS mechanics to make the difference. That’s where SF4 gets its bad reputation sometimes. It’s because some of the characters are completely insufferable to fight against. C Viper, Seth, Rolento, El Fuerte, Abel, Ibuki, are all good examples. If you really want to see a great example of Neutral in SF4, I would watch Daigo vs Alex Valle at SoCal Regionals In 2010 I think, or Daigo Vs Momochi at Stunfest. Nothing in SF5 or 6 is even close to it.
Bro how many times do we be telling you never to apologize? You will never stop apologizing to them babies. YOU DID AND SAID NOTHING WRONG. Let them babies sort themselves out
People were told S4 was good so they accepted it with no argument. I played that game and liked it but let’s be honest, no reason any fighting game needs 1 frame links; zero reason. SF33S was a better game that gets less credit than 4 but again 3 was very unbalanced but everything else? Near perfection. The argument for this is SF6 takes heavily from SF3 no one can even argue that. Out of all of them though Street Fighters 6 is easily the most balanced fighting game on release and after. The issue is too much low forward, throw loops, and the bottom tier characters being a literal chasm of difference and skill to play by comparison are the main issues. What you said is right though. You don’t gotta play a game to assess it. Hell, you don’t even have to be a fighting game fan to tell something is OD at high level play. When GGS dropped I had two friends watch the finals with me and they could very clearly tell Sol was busted busted.
@@ultm8ninja it’s what SF has been about from day one, SF5 got a bad rap because they over simplified it… SF6 is more fun but still simple and not as rewarding for players with higher skills and players that put in the work.
@@megamaca2042 But if a SF came out today that played like SF2, the most popular entry, fans of any other entry would say that its over simplified. I don't think SF6 is simple, but rather easy to win in because of its system mechanics.
I b was just watching idom play and he one and doned a deejay. And while the guy was crazy and just throwing out whatever his optimizing off of drive rush was actually really good but that’s not skill at all I guess. I like fast paced and hate when you get stuck with the fireball mashing

SF4 is 95% of the FGC first game. They are going to take anything you say about it personal right or wrong.
Yeah i had to notice that the hard way. Cause these mother lovers came full force!
We ain't turning let's get this silver play button gang
Appreciate it fam! We locked in🙇🏽♂️💯
This is the first game I ever heard someone say here comes the 50 50 mix-up...7 times in a match
SF4 is good. SFV is good.
Based opinion
No! Just SF4. SF5 is 🗑️.

Chun Li con los mejores normales de la historia y Yun con sus custom combos 💀

It’s sickening how grossly disrespected and underrated street fighter v is man
It was sick. One of the purest street fighter titles in recent memory
This i can agree with. The main thing was v trigger that got on everybody nerves and that by itself only happen towards the end of the round
DR doesn’t kill frames 🖼️. It pauses the other player for about a second.
We need this tho. Thanks.
Not a problem!

SF4 vanilla for sure for like 40% of the cast
Ultra Sf4 has a 10x the netrual skips
I would watch a nightmareffect sf4 arc if you’re cookin it. 💪
I could potentially 👀

The low ceiling affect in these fighting games today is disgusting but we all still play and have fun at the end of the day
While SFIV had a higher skill ceiling, I don’t necessarily think that high skill ceilings are something that that defines SF.
