We've seen a lot of players, from the local level to content creators to former YCS champions, gradually drop off the game over time. Despite the warning signs and blaring red lights, there was hope among the player base that one good ban list, reprint set, or diverse meta format would be enough to bring them all back home. Most of them didn't.

“oh what’s your favorite arc” or “who’s your favorite character?” And honestly I can’t answer that because I don’t know lmao. I think that’s what makes losing in modern YGO feel so miserable. I guess I’m more forgiving as I saw it as a game developed from a fictional card game in a manga. I never expected it to be balanced from its conception, nor take off the way it has to its current iteration. MtG locks you in the five basic colors and artifacts, while in YGO every new archetype is practically like learning a new card game, fighting another card game design for dominance. Pokemon is nice in that you don’t have to worry about the opponent taking over your own turn, but it was a bit too passive for me…and the full arts I wanted cost too much 😅 Good luck in Pokemon though, the community seems more pleasant. Yugioh community….well I blame the western TCG side on how it’s treated its players for 20 years, for the community ended up being the way it has. $10 JP Fuwaross vs $149 ENG Fuwaross…yeah. The YGO western practices has resulted in a playerbase much more toxic & cutthroat.

@@drewtraveleroftheburningabyssThe attitude that the game is an investment is one of the biggest problems in the community. If you take that attitude to pokemon you will eventually poison that community to. The only investment in card games should be the fun you have. You should only spend what you think is worth the fun. Financial return focus kills communities, and if you perpetuate it your part of the problem.

@@mattbell3130 you sound like a brainwashed yugioh player to me. One day you’ll understand that. I’m not playing for fun in Pokemon, I’m playing to win and make money. That’s exactly why I stated multiple times in this video that I’m playing time wizard formats for fun. Once again, if you listen to my whole video you’d absorb a lot more information and maybe retain it.
