Help me to understand the notion of "fetishization" - as it's a concern many Women of Color living in Asia or Europe seem to bring up . The simple definition is: Make (something) the object of a sexual fetish. How does one interpret the difference between a Male with a fetish fixation based on ethnicity vs. a Male that is simply physically attracted to such a beautiful Woman?
shotelco, it’s when the person doesn’t really care about you, but sees you as an object. Often, just wants to add you as a notch on their belt. For most women, this isn’t desirable. This can happen at home as well.

@tanio12 well John Henrik Clarke was wrong: *CHAIRMAN MOA'S 1963 STATEMENT SUPPORTING THE AMERICAN NEGROES IN THEIR JUST STRUGGLE AGAINST RACIAL DISCRIMINATION BY U.S. IMPERIALISM:* _"An American Negro leader now taking refuge in Cuba, Mr. Robert Williams, the former President of the Monroe, North Carolina, Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People, has twice this year asked me for a statement in support of the American Negroes’ struggle against racial discrimination. On behalf of the Chinese people, I wish to take this opportunity to express our resolute support for the American Negroes in their struggle against racial discrimination and for freedom and equal rights."_ _"There are more than 19 million Negroes in the United States, or about 11 per cent of the total population. They are enslaved, oppressed and discriminated against - such is their position in society. The overwhelming majority are deprived of their right to vote. In general, only the most backbreaking and despised jobs are open to them. Their average wages are barely a third or a half those of the white people. The proportion of unemployment among the Negroes is the highest. In many states they are forbidden to go to the same school, eat at the same table, or travel in the same section of a bus or train as the white people. Negroes are often arrested, beaten up or murdered at will by the U.S. authorities at various levels and by members of the Ku Klux Klan and other racists. About half the American Negroes are concentrated in eleven southern states, where the discrimination and persecution they suffer are especially shocking."_ _"The American Negroes are awakening and their resistance is growing stronger and stronger. Recent years have witnessed a continuous expansion of their mass struggle against racial discrimination and for freedom and equal rights."_ _"In 1957 the Negro people in Little Rock, Arkansas, waged a fierce struggle against the barring of their children from public schools. The authorities used armed force against them, creating the Little Rock incident which shocked the world."_ _"In 1960 Negroes in more than twenty states held “sit-in” demonstrations protesting against racial segregation in local restaurants, shops and other public places."_ _"In 1961 the Negroes launched the “freedom riders” campaign to oppose racial segregation in public transportation, a campaign which rapidly spread to many states."_ _"In 1962 the Negroes in Mississippi fought for the equal right to enrol in colleges and met with bloody suppression by the authorities."_ _"This year, the American Negroes-started their struggle early in April in Birmingham, Alabama. Unarmed and bare-handed Negro people were arrested en masse and most barbarously suppressed merely for holding meetings and parades against racial discrimination. On June 12 Mr. Medgar Evers, a leader of the Negro people in Mississippi, was murdered in cold blood. Defying brutality and violence, the indignant Negro masses waged their struggle even more heroically and quickly won the support of Negroes and other people of various strata throughout the United States. A gigantic and vigorous nationwide struggle is going on in nearly every city and state, and the struggle is mounting. American Negro organizations have decided to start a “freedom march” on Washington on August 28, in which 250,000 people will take part."_ _"The speedy development of the struggle of the American Negroes is a manifestation of sharpening class struggle and sharpening national struggle within the United States; it has been causing increasing anxiety among U.S. ruling circles. The Kennedy Administration is insidiously using dual tactics. On the one hand, it continues to connive at and take part in discrimination against Negroes and their persecution, and it even sends troops to suppress them. On the other hand, in the attempt to numb the fighting will of the Negro people and deceive the masses of the country, the Kennedy Administration is parading as an advocate of “the defence of human rights” and “the protection of the civil rights of Negroes,” calling upon the Negro people to exercise “restraint” and proposing the “civil rights legislation” to Congress. But more and more Negroes are seeing through these tactics of the Kennedy Administration. The fascist atrocities of the U.S. imperialists against the Negro people have exposed the true nature of so-called American democracy and freedom and revealed the inner link between the reactionary policies pursued by the U.S. Government at home and its policies of aggression abroad."_ _"I call on the workers, peasants, revolutionary intellectuals, enlightened elements of the bourgeoisie and other enlightened persons of all colours in the world, whether white, black, yellow or brown, to unite to oppose the racial discrimination practised by U.S. imperialism and support the American Negroes in their struggle against racial discrimination. In the final analysis, national struggle is a matter of class struggle. Among the whites in the United States, it is only the reactionary ruling circles who oppress the Negro people. They can in no way represent the workers, farmers, revolutionary intellectuals and other enlightened persons who comprise the overwhelming majority of the white people. At present, it is the handful of imperialists headed by the United Slates, and their supporters, the reactionaries in different countries, who are oppressing, committing aggression against and menacing the overwhelming majority of the nations and peoples of the world. We are in the majority and they are in the minority. At most, they make up less than 10 per cent of the 3,000 million population of the world. I am firmly convinced that, with the support of more than 90 per cent of the people of the world, the American Negroes will be victorious in their just struggle. The evil system of colonialism and imperialism arose and throve with the enslavement of Negroes and the trade in Negroes, and it will surely come to its end with the complete emancipation of the black people."_ Mao Tse-tung, founder of The Peoples Republic of China, August 8, 1963

Someone said that she's very well spoken... for a B!@ck woman I'm sure that's what you're saying. Uh....ok??? Anyway, I do like your attitude and your look.🙂
She is extremely well spoken. Very easy and pleasant to listen to. The same cannot be said of everyone regardless of race. She says "like" frequently, but it's not every other word. Feel free to unchain your brain from racism. You're overthinking it.
I don't think that would work for this channel as it would just turn into a rant about people staring, pointing, taking photos and wanting to touch their hair and skin and not wanting to sit next to them on public transport. There are already around a thousand videos about this and they ALL say the same and it would just drag negativity into the whole channel really. Personally I can't even understand the concept of being offended at what a Chinese person thinks of my physical appearance but then I'm very proud of and knowledgeable about the benefits of my African human biology.
Michael Hayes Actually, a black in China video would be quite suitable for this channel. They’ve done videos in Japan and Korea, so why not China? The hair touching and photo taking happens in most Asian countries when a foreigner comes but I don’t take that as a negative, rather I take it as a chance to educate them on black culture.
@@heavssw4208 true but it's so much more prevalent in China to the point that's all people would talk about. There's already a RUclips channel that interviews black people in China and that's all they ever talk about.

The one with the f is purely secshoowel, i think? I don't care; sometimes you take a liking to a certain culture, and try to learn everything about it. Some even marry someone from that culture; kind of like the opposite of hate/racism. Nothing wrong with that.
The problem is not seeing the individual and expecting them to be everything you think you know about their so called race. It's extremely insulting and rude. Nobody wants to deal with that.
This interview was very enlightening. The first one that's of any real help to understand the different regions of Asia. I'll never go to Japan. A deeper point of view is: "Treat People the way you want them to treat your children" or What level of kindness would you want for your child? I knew there was a reason I loved my KIA automobile. Couldn't you order your hair products through Amazon & get them?
Watch a variety of interviews if you really want understanding. There are people who absolutely love Japan. Ultimately, you'll have to rely on your own experience. She said ordering hair products is more expensive.
South Korea is more color racist than Japan. It is according to Indian perspective. Infact, in India after building their Korean company they have been making restaurant and hotels ban for Indians like Indians are not allowed despite that area is in India. One can search on RUclips about this serious racist report. Journalism did by local people when media failed to recognize it. You need to search
@@sunnygirly2k4 did you hear about hundreds of thousands (possibly millions by now if you look at their video view counts) of White Supremacists running around America saying that they're just gonna have to kill all black people to stop 'White Genocide' and the president of that country saying that some of the people who associate themselves with them and march alongside them are "good people"? I wonder if you can do a group traveller (couples, family members, business partners, etc) interviews to compare and contrast experiences from each member of that group. It seems alot of black people are travelling to Asia solo or alone and based on these interviews many Asians and others see this but havent said NOTHING about it yet. But I will. Peace.
@@TheBlackExJp No sir she was saying people need to show compassion and be helpful. That is a silent plead for help. If she kept emphasizing that message, she is struggling and me being black we always try to compensate our lack by forcing it on what others are not doing.
Also I bet the Asian countries have statistics showing that black people are probably the most solo driven travelers in their countries and use that ignorance to drain blacks of their financial weight. I live in a major international tourist city and when I meet "foreigners" they are travelling in groups mostly but so far on RUclips and beyond many black people are going to places solo or alone especially Asia. And your channel demonstrate this so well. Peace.
Westerners tend to use racism, prejudice, ethnocentrism, ignorance, bias, etc. synonymously. Of course, there's a great deal of qualitative difference between each. And all are not equally "bad". The racism in the States is disturbing because its suppressed by Americans who know about slavery and the painful history of Black people, yet they make a conscious choice to hate their countrymen.
OMG We have the SAME NAME. I just spell it without the "Y." Great personality btw
I love her philosophy in life, truly a beautiful soul
She is a very lovely person inside and out.
Nice dayci words of wisdom you are breathtaking great delivery
Thank you!!♡
I follow this woman's RUclips channel! Wish her well in her endeavours.
I love it self care self love ❤️
Yay Daylightful! Mr. Ranzo keep up the good work.
We subconsciously hate ourselves so we over analyze and worry about what other people think about us and why, usually focusing on the negative.
shotelco, it’s when the person doesn’t really care about you, but sees you as an object. Often, just wants to add you as a notch on their belt. For most women, this isn’t desirable. This can happen at home as well.
Just lump them all in one heap, and let the woman sort 'em out with the help of her all-knowing girlfriends
@Black To Grace If that is true, you can't blame them; all that advertising creates demand
Great question!!
I love this video. She shared some really good insight on Korea that I don't think we most hear about.
What State are you talking about in the US? Because New York has an awesome transportation system.
True, so does Chicago and DC, but outside those 3 cities really bad pubic transportation system in USA. Buses yes, no trains.
Miami Sucks!
New York has a terrible transportation system. Deal with it on a daily basis and it def needs improvement
What a bright and shining upbeat personality.
I know Daycia from playing Super Smash Bros in Michigan and Ohio, what a weird coincidence!
Haha truly a small world!!
Korean's like Black people now? I guess things have changed TREMENDOUSLY since I was there.
Koreans are under no present or historical obligation to 'like' black people. If you had self-love then you wouldn't care.
@@michaelhayes4231 You're assuming I "personally" had experienced some sort of ill feelings from them. And my comment doesn't suggest a lack of "self-love".
@@michaelhayes4231 what are you implying????
@@beckybecks2917 I'm not implying anything, I'll say it outright. Why do we cry like babies about what other races think of us when in reality there is only one race on Earth that's currently planning to wipe us out and they aren't Asians. Asians have never done anything to black people so if some of them don't like us, that's up to them, we shouldn't cry about it. It's not like they are voting for racist presidents and joining Neo-Nazi organisations and putting up videos saying that blacks should be wiped of the face of the Earth.
@tanio12 well John Henrik Clarke was wrong:
*CHAIRMAN MOA'S 1963 STATEMENT SUPPORTING THE AMERICAN NEGROES IN THEIR JUST STRUGGLE AGAINST RACIAL DISCRIMINATION BY U.S. IMPERIALISM:*
_"An American Negro leader now taking refuge in Cuba, Mr. Robert Williams, the former President of the Monroe, North Carolina, Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People, has twice this year asked me for a statement in support of the American Negroes’ struggle against racial discrimination. On behalf of the Chinese people, I wish to take this opportunity to express our resolute support for the American Negroes in their struggle against racial discrimination and for freedom and equal rights."_
_"There are more than 19 million Negroes in the United States, or about 11 per cent of the total population. About half the American Negroes are concentrated in eleven southern states, where the discrimination and persecution they suffer are especially shocking."_
_"The American Negroes are awakening and their resistance is growing stronger and stronger. Recent years have witnessed a continuous expansion of their mass struggle against racial discrimination and for freedom and equal rights."_
_"In 1957 the Negro people in Little Rock, Arkansas, waged a fierce struggle against the barring of their children from public schools. The authorities used armed force against them, creating the Little Rock incident which shocked the world."_
_"In 1960 Negroes in more than twenty states held “sit-in” demonstrations protesting against racial segregation in local restaurants, shops and other public places."_
_"In 1961 the Negroes launched the “freedom riders” campaign to oppose racial segregation in public transportation, a campaign which rapidly spread to many states."_
_"In 1962 the Negroes in Mississippi fought for the equal right to enrol in colleges and met with bloody suppression by the authorities."_
_"This year, the American Negroes-started their struggle early in April in Birmingham, Alabama. American Negro organizations have decided to start a “freedom march” on Washington on August 28, in which 250,000 people will take part."_
_"The speedy development of the struggle of the American Negroes is a manifestation of sharpening class struggle and sharpening national struggle within the United States; it has been causing increasing anxiety among U.S. ruling circles. Government at home and its policies of aggression abroad."_
_"I call on the workers, peasants, revolutionary intellectuals, enlightened elements of the bourgeoisie and other enlightened persons of all colours in the world, whether white, black, yellow or brown, to unite to oppose the racial discrimination practised by U.S. imperialism and support the American Negroes in their struggle against racial discrimination. The evil system of colonialism and imperialism arose and throve with the enslavement of Negroes and the trade in Negroes, and it will surely come to its end with the complete emancipation of the black people."_

She's very sweet and smart! 😊
Enjoyed this interview. Daylightful has a kindred spirit which I love. So just for my clarification would say being a black woman is better in Japan than the states? Do you foresee returning back to the states?
18:34 HAHAHA i felt that. She is so wise and smart and i agree with every point she said
Awesome interview and a beautiful perspective from a female of African decent living in southeast Asia/Korea, keep up the good work peace and love...
She is so cute and her personality is so sweet!!! ☺️👍🏾👍🏾
You are sweet, smart and wonderful. Wish you the best in all your pursuits.
Sounds like Korea is horrible for dating but it might be easier to make friends
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL WHAT COMIC SHE WAS TALING ABOUT? REALLY WANNA KNOW COS I AM GHANAIAN. THANK YOU~

Very nice interview. A leap of faith, take a chance.👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Can you guys do a black in China video? I’ll be going there next year and I would like to know what experiences people have went through being there
Stay tuned.
Oooo oh yes , that would be great.
I really would like to visit Korea some days and I’m a black women . I really like their culture . 🤗
Black girls are kawaii 💖💖💖
i remember randomly stumbling onto her channel on twitch a few yrs ago. pokemon i think it was, if not then smash brothers. regardless, she seemed super chill and personable so i followed. never thought this would be the same daylight lol. happy af things are going well for her.
what is the salary for american teacher's in korea
You can make from 1,500 - 2,500 USD in while teaching in Korea.
Black IS Beautiful a month ?
LOVELY MANNER!!
I just made kimchi stew (jjigae) and I really love it.
Beautiful woman and interesting interview!
I was worried about the air quality, but the minute she mentioned spicy food . . . . oh yeah!
@18:10 but still enjoy the whole interview guys 💫💎🔥
Aww she is a sweetheart
Holy shit I know you from the arcade. Lol. she is very nice in person as well.
What's the song at the end?
Loved this video beautiful woman too thinking about relocating to S.Korea or Japan. Not sure yet.
What's the difference between being attracted to some race and fetishizing about a race ?
Its pretty obvious
Let Google be your friend
The one with the f is purely secshoowel, i think?
I don't care;
sometimes you take a liking to a certain culture, and try to learn everything about it.
Some even marry someone from that culture; kind of like the opposite of hate/racism. Nothing wrong with that.
The problem is not seeing the individual and expecting them to be everything you think you know about their so called race. It's extremely insulting and rude. Nobody wants to deal with that.
It sounds like that she is having a blast.
I'm just worried about how my beautiful hair I'm african American and I'm scared I wont be able to protect it living there😭😭
This interview was very enlightening.
Wow, really? I heard of some Chinese doing that in Kenya (IIRC).
But, hey.......Chinese restaurants in Kenya.
@@michaelhayes4231 I live in America and haven't heard that. Please stop. Wherever you are, stick to talking about that place. Internet cancer. Racism thrives because of people like you.
when i visit korea i hope i run in to sistas like this. im not really in to korean women but if thats all i run in too the hell i need a women regardless.
Nice
I’m racist ( I have black friends but I still have my prejudices and they have theirs)....hey I admit it ... it’s just a biological thing. Who am I going to look out for and help ,the black kid or my fellow Mexican American kid. All races are like this, it’s just the way we survived ,we all have our tribes.
This dude really just said racism is a biological thing 💀💀 na fam, you were raised to believed that. It’s not something your born with or that comes from genetics wtf 😭

She said being at the airport is hard with handling a huge suitcase on her own. I wonder if you can do a group traveller (couples, family members, business partners, etc) interviews to compare and contrast experiences from each member of that group. It seems alot of black people are travelling to Asia solo or alone and based on these interviews many Asians and others see this but havent said NOTHING about it yet. But I will. Peace.
I think you missed the context in which that story was shared.
Peace.
Damn, I guess some the men over there just be wilding out. Smh! 😂
It's so weird... She speaks with an accent that's not American.
that's an american accent
Is it racism or prejudice?
Westerners tend to use racism, prejudice, ethnocentrism, ignorance, bias, etc. synonymously. Of course, there's a great deal of qualitative difference between each. And all are not equally "bad". Traditionally speaking, most peoples of the world are not "racist". They're ethnocentric, biased and prejudiced. I would argue that "racism" is a unique attribute of the WESTERN WORLD.
@@Octavus5 Good answer.
Good video. But how her voice goes up at the end of her statements is super annoying and seems forced.
