Maybe the most talented band on the planet right now. Completely off the charts.

The Lead Guitarist is Li-sa-X, a prodigy from Japan. She was 19 in this video. The drummer is Kanade, (22) and considered a prodigy. The singer is Kotono (22). The other guitarist is Hazuki (28-29, who is also in Nemophila) and the bassist, Wakazaemon (early 20's as well), has been doing session work for the band but is a permanent member of the band East of Eden. They are a newer band formed by Li-sa-X and Hazuki.

The guitarist Lisa-X recently celebrated graduating from high school. She basically put the band together.

Shakes-P, Wow, Wow, & Wow!!!!!!! This was so much fire!!!!!!!!! I think they went off!!!!!!!!!!! Crazy Good!!!!!!!!! Now that is what you call a stage full of amazing musical talent on steroids!!! The lead Guitarist you have heard before, She was on the video in Yoyoka's 12th Birthday Session doing the cover of Joe Satriani's - Satch Boogie, Her name is Li-Sa-X, it was my Dono song request. She did blow your mind in that performance too, Ha Ha She is a Beast on her guitar!!! The other girl guitarist is Hazuki from NEMOPHILA, she is equality as amazing on her guitar as well. The lyrics & music on this song was written by Li-Sa-X. This is how the name of the band is pronounced as I understand - ("Coy I"). Here's the full band member's - Guitar- Li-Sa-X, from Li-Sa-X Band, Guitar- Hazuki - from NEMOPHILA, Vocals - Kotono - from band Iron Bunny, Bass- Wakazaemon - from band East of Eden, Drums - Kanade Sato - from band Muses. I've tried to be as correct as I can on this info of the band. Looking forward to your reaction to my other KOIAI song Request - Come See Me. Thanks so much Shakes, for the amazing reaction to this amazing performance from KOIAI. God Bless You and your Family, and the Children and Families of Legazpi City Philippines, and to The Dare To Dream Foundation By Shakes-P, Peace & Love, Tom, from the USA

When they do straight pop they are amazing too. "One Way Or Another " is such a perfect song with a cheeky lift of a ACDC / Queen type riff. Staright away I was hooked. No matter what tis band does , they can do no wrong.

The "rhythm guitarist" is actually a second lead, who has been lead in several other bands. She has been mentoring Lisa-X and has always been happy to play the support line. But she is a monster shredder in her own right. You'll see.

In Japanese most vowels are pronounced separately, although "ai" is an exception. Koiai: Koe (like Toe with a K), We, Eye. Koe-we pronounced straight through as one will help. So: Koe-we-eye. GOod luck.

Just found this, so forgive any overlap with prior comments. Here is a little background on them:
The word “prodigy” gets thrown around way too much. In this case, it is fully deserved. Lisa-X has been posting music on youtube since she was seven, did credible covers of Dream Theater and Polyphia at 10, and has had her own band since she was 13. The core members of Lisa-X band were Lisa-X, Rina on vocals and Hazuki, formerly of Disqualia and now the lead guitarist for Nemophila, on co-lead guitar.
Here she is doing a playthrough with Hazuki on “Just Be My Treasure”:

“One More Chance Is Enough” with Billy Sheehan (!) on bass (Sheehan is on the consensus short list of candidates for best rock bassist in the world).

Rina left the band in 2022 and they took a hiatus to rebuild. They re-emerged as Koiai, and can legitimately claim to be a supergroup. Kotono joined them after stints with various groups including Ironbunny and a previous collaboration with Lisa-X. The big catch was Kanade Sato on drums. Sato is also a member of Muses and is in big demand as a session drummer. She is often compared with the already legendary Senri Kawaguchi. Wakazaemon has been appearing as a guest on bass. She frequently tours with Marty Friedman and is also a member of East of Eden.
Here are two more links worth checking out. The first one is Lisa’s 2017 appearance at the annual female rock festival organized by Show-Ya-she is up there with some of the best guitarists in the world and they clearly love sharing the stage with her. The second one is her collaboration with the even younger drum phenom, Yoyoka Soma, who is herself a force of nature.

Overall, rock is not only in good hands, but arguably has been taken over by Japanese women. The future looks great!
