Hey. Sorry for cutting out a fragment of the video in the part about the telenovela. The video got copyright claimed. I appealed it and said it's fair use but the copyright holder rejected my appeal. This means that all of the profit from the 820 views this video has instantly went to them. 820 views is quite a big number for my channel, especially in less than a day. It's hard to say how much money that is, probably around $2,50. That's not a lot but for my channel it's quite huge lol I got annoyed by their decision that my use of a 10 second clip from their show isn't fair and minimal so I thought it's better if I just cut it out. This won't bring me back my $2,50 but it won't give them any more. If you want to see the whole video as it was originally posted (not that there's anything interesting I say in that part), I'll upload it to my Patreon later today. Idk if I can make it possible to watch without having to be my Patron. If I can, I will. EDIT: Here www.patreon.com/posts/how-is-visual-in-119695585
I uploaded this video four times to see if it won't have any copyright issues. YT said it's perfectly fit for monetization. Less than 30 minutes after making it public, YT decided that it won't be monetized due to a 10 seconds long clip from the Mexican show. This is totally not my day.
Thanks for this excellent video concept!! Regarding the telenovella, I will say that the concept of an Ayabie poster in between Green day and tokio hotel isn't too far fetched for the time. As someone who was on MySpace in 2006, I have vivid memories of the same people who loved hot topic mall emo being super into an cafe and other oshare-kei bands (probably because HT in the US used to sell current CURE magazines and a few select vkei cds). In fact, I was never an ayabie fan but seeing that exact poster gave me immediate nostalgia. I am almost certain that it came out of a CURE magazine that I probably owned at the time
Another banger! i oughta watch those first two movies also, if yer looking for more examples: Izam from Shazna lent his likeness & voice for a cameo in the 1998 Shin-Chan movie 'Crayon Shin-chan: Blitzkrieg! Pig's Hoof's Secret Mission'. if you don't feel like watching it, at least look up his design, he looks great in Shin-Chan's art style
@2:00, distracted by those fangirl screaming noises. The lives that I’ve been to in Japan don’t have that while the band is playing. It would be in between songs.
There are multiple references to x japan and espetialy hide in osomatsu san if i remeber corectly in an episode of the show and also in some official art that had characters wearing stage costumes of x members
OMFG THANK YOU!!! dvhgfdgvgdvSDFGVFVGDFSGDF I've watched this episode of Bones ages ago and it marked me, I wanted to find it again to bring it up to the fans but I had no idea what it was called or the episode number T_T tysm you rule ! what shocked me was what Angela did to the Dr in the end to find out their gender, which is...highly questionable O_O I was like Angela no!!!
Since it’s not in here I’ll mention Sket Dance and the character Dante (inspired by and voiced by Gackt), vocalist of vkei band Jardin. Hilariously tongue-in-cheek…
FYI Maebashi is in Gunma prefecture, from which buck-tick hails (they’re from Fujioka). sorry this is just my buck-tick brain going off. Also iirc Luna Sea was actually called Lunacy in the beginning
another example i know of is a character from the game persona 2 - eikichi mishina- who is explicitly said to be in a visual kei band. as for how well he represents the subculture... i dont know 😅.
if anyone is curious it isnt the only explicit reference to youth subculture either. a character in the first installment is said to be "kogal" and one in the 3rd installment is a gothic lolita. but that isnt as related i guess 😅
Visual Prison is another one to look at, but I can’t say the representation is great because the “VK” bands featured are really just men’s chika idols with VK aesthetics.
Oresama and Rockers (2003) are good movies too. Oresama is definitely leaning more into the casual 2000’s V-Kei aesthetic since Miyavi plays himself, despite the premise lol. While Rockers is more of a fictional account of the punk band THE eROCKERS. Both are on RUclips too. I guess we can kind of count The Legend of the Stardust Brothers too, but that’s just a genuinely good movie.
There is this one manga that i know of "in the end" by pink psycho. However i havent found an english translation of it anywhere. Only a russian one, and i speak russian so im reading it. Idk much of the presentation, because i havent finished it yet, but the clothes are pretty cool and i dont know it it has an anime adaptation, but i think not. Oh, and there is this manga that features Malice Mizer. I havent read it myself yet, but i know it's a doujin called "Premier". Hope this helps you somehow for a part 2

Im so glad Vkei is getting attention recently but people have been referring to bangya or gyaruo as Vkei style wise and its lowkey awkward 😭
Leave it to normies lol just correct them.
Oh, hmm i thought bangya was used to refer female fans of Vijuaruuu kei
@@graveyardsoil ah then my apologies but many people have been using bangya to refer to Vkei for some reason and it’s been throwing me off😭

K-on mentioned 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
nice video :3
The manga Tomorrow I'll Be Somebody's Girlfriend has some references but I haven't read far enough to see if there's a vkei subplot
