The better the narration and transition of your videos, the quicker the channel growth! I like this channel and it appears to be really gaining traction!
On the KJ hand, an opponent having AA could probably take that line trying to get the Broadway draws to fold. A LAG player with air could try that too. As others have said, checking back on the turn and seeing what he does on the river might have been better. Good to see another NOR-CAL player vlog.
Oh man, revenge hands are the sweetest. I think your read of 2 pair is pretty reasonable. If villain was worried about the flush and straight possibilities they would donk to not give a free card. keep the videos coming!
I think the sizings in the 77 vs QQ hand were totally fine. Unless villain is a total station he's probably getting away from queens by the river if you polarize. I doubt he perceives you as bluffy. Probably max value there.
Your playing well Cal I noticed on the ace queen hand in the BB with the flat caller you want to actually going $75 dollars pre flop. 4x the bet + 15 open OOP just make them pay the max with junky hands
Just subscribed bro. Nice videos and good analysis. It's also nice that you can find juicy games like this that early in the day. The kennel club by my place is completely dead until after 2pm, so your schedule wouldn't work here. Anyways, best of luck to you! Look forward to your continued growth.
Great videos. What's the rake/drop on the 1/3 game in Sacramento? I'm from the Bay Area and they have a $10 drop on the flop which is horrendous and makes it unplayable for the most part.
@@NorCal_Poker Yeah, I almost would play the 5/10 to beat the drop but don't have that level of bankroll (at least yet). Anyway, I have a poker vacation to Vegas in a few weeks, and your vlogs are super helpful on getting a feel for what a live 1/3 game plays like. Keep up the posting.
I think with the AQ that is often a call. It’s only one bet to call. He will have big unpaired cards often and you need to be right like 30% of the time. He is repping a very narrow range with a four liner on board…. How often does villain have a five here? They not betting a seven for example.
I’m not saying it’s always a call but the way that played out… then saying that’s what I put you on… you knew it was a call… Everyone makes mistakes every time they play poker. It’s impossible not to. First hand and not knowing the player or seen him bluff is also fair.
"In the spot" you refer to, in hindsight it would of been nice to check back the turn and see another card (if you're going to fold to a raise there).. I hate folding to a raise with another card to improve, specially from a guy who just donked off a pot previously to you. btw I love your use of movie clips in your vids. Hilarious.
Saw u on global at a 50nl table recently.. would u honestly recommend the cash games on an unregulated site? I can’t dodge 2,3,4,5 outers in big pots ever.(Cash and tourney) been playing for years and best tourney finish ever was 9th AA
Your fold with the K J is very reasonable. Its such an odd line + turn check raises are so strong/under bluffed even by best of players. On the 7s hand, here's my thoughts. Raise more pre. Only other thing on the hand I think you could have gone more polarizing on the river. But you might have got the most value as played. I don't think you might have gotten any more than you did because I think he knew he was beat on the flop, with the check/check lines on turn, river.
For the KJ hand, it’s probably best to check back turn and check/call or bet for thin value on the river (1/2 pot) if checked to twice Betting on the turn gives the maniac a chance to polarize for two streets (repoened action on turn, action on the river) in which case calling down or folding KJ both suck As for the 7s hand, I think you could’ve gotten like $100 more on the river but was played close to optimally Versus villains who overvalue marginal holdings you either need to frequently bet small and thin for value so that they announce “pot odds!” and make the crying call (your strategy here) or become very polarized with more bluffs so that it becomes very punishing for them to call down with marginal hands Since you hadn’t shown any bluffs in this session (at least in the vlog), villain almost certainly would’ve folded to a larger more polarized bet since you had an image of being tight and value heavy GTO prefers becoming extremely polarized in this scenario to maximize the EV of strong hands but in practice it is really scary to blast off on the river with a missed draw, especially live when the monetary amounts are much larger than online just so that a strong made hand can get paid the maximum later Anyways you played really well dude!
Love the vlog series. Watching episode by episode. Like binge watching Netflix lol. On the KJ hand I an actually going 44. I think he tilted called your re-raise pre and bluffed it hard on the flop. As soon as he hit his 4 on the turn he went full on rounders and tried to slow play it back. Originally thought k10 but I just don't think this guy was good enough to overplay to a draw board. He was overplaying it as a bluff.

Hell yeah Alex, I started recording not that long ago and I need to start editing but good to see another 1/3 player doing good
Nice, I’ll keep an eye out for your first vlog!
I just found your channel. I'm enjoying the content and wanted to say that, you just got yourself another sub!!! Keep it up!
Appreciate that my man, glad you enjoy it & glad to have your support!
14:49 hand you played it well. You got as much equity without causing him to Tank. Him tanking would increase probability of folding i presume.
I think you have a good analysis here. Appreciate it
Nice edition, Alex. Also, happy to see you winning.
I appreciate the support as always!
I can't remember the last time I had a player pay off a set with an overpair like that in my local 1/3 game, glad you have such good games by you 😂
That sucks. Action is pretty good in sac!
First video of yours I’ve watched, will be watching a lot more
Means a lot, appreciate that 🙌🏻
killing it man keep it up! Glad to see you get paid with the full house this time!
Thanks my man!
Great session and solid playing! But bro, you gotta relax and blink when on camera lol. Keep up the good work!

Fair point. It was my first hand of the session & against an unknown so I took the passive route

Great session 🔥💪🏾
Appreciate that !!
on the KJ hand, maybe better to check th turn and bet the river?
Looking back, I think that’s best!
Your commentary on the bet sizing spoke to me as I have a problem with the same thing… Also, is that a Brewers hat or Baueroutage?
It’s a struggle I’m hoping to fix soon! And brewers hat
@@NorCal_Poker I’m studying on it too, recording my first content tomorrow and nervous! Clean brewers hat!
It’s a weird feeling, let me know when you drop the video

You’re 100% right. That was my biggest mistake that hand. Then I could’ve evaluated the river!
If the undersized raise is over 50% it’s a mandatory min raise. It’s just a call if under 50%.
👍🏻👍🏻

I would recommend 10 NL 5 tabling to earn about $300/month. It plays similar to $1/2. 50 NL is pretty swingy
@@NorCal_Poker they call off too light at micro stakes haha i’ll c u at the nino!💰💰

For the KJ hand, it’s probably best to check back turn and check/call or bet for thin value on the river (1/2 pot) if checked to twice
Betting on the turn gives the maniac a chance to polarize for two streets (repoened action on turn, action on the river) in which case calling down or folding KJ both suck
As for the 7s hand, I think you could’ve gotten like $100 more on the river but was played close to optimally
Versus villains who overvalue marginal holdings you either need to frequently bet small and thin for value so that they announce “pot odds!” and make the crying call (your strategy here) or become very polarized with more bluffs so that it becomes very punishing for them to call down with marginal hands
Since you hadn’t shown any bluffs in this session (at least in the vlog), villain almost certainly would’ve folded to a larger more polarized bet since you had an image of being tight and value heavy
GTO prefers becoming extremely polarized in this scenario to maximize the EV of strong hands but in practice it is really scary to blast off on the river with a missed draw, especially live when the monetary amounts are much larger than online just so that a strong made hand can get paid the maximum later
Anyways you played really well dude!

Is 500 a good starting for 1/3 nl
It’s been working decent. I’ll keep tinkering until I find the right buy in for this game
Do you ever play tournaments?
I’ve played 1 in my life lol. I usually only have a few hours to play so I stick to cash!

It’s match the stack! So I start with $500 then feel it out
