I love everything about three days grace, even though the old singer is no longer here, I believe its still a great band and there's always hope.
Just because Matt Walst is bo longer in this band, doesnt mean you should start hating, people in bands come, stay or go, this is their new horizon which leads to newer songs and different beats, and offcourse, we will miss Matt and he will always be inspired by many of us out here.. I especially love this new song by three days grace, I feel the power inside and it catches to my emotions. The beat makes me feel awesome as well!
I just gotta say, this is one of my new favorite songs/bands out here. :)

Lol stop hating. Matt is obviously not Adam. He has a different voice. Live with it. Painkiller is an amazing song, and matts voice fits in perfectly. Adam was amazing, don't get me wrong, but matt is doing fine. Their future music will only progress and get better.

That’s how it sounds raw. What you hear from the speakers is a mixed drum sound this is just the drum sets raw sound no EQ tweaking or mixing

Maybe it's only me, but I do every ride with my right hand. It seems so funny to watch somebody, POV no less, that does it the other way.

xTheSquid I mean using the ride, not the ride cymbal itself. The majority of the drummers I know, myself included, use the high hat with our right arms crossed over our lefts. I guess because we tool our right arms for it because the ride cymbal and the floor tom are accessible to our right, meaning we use our right arms for rides and lefts for everything else.
Adam McCann Oh right, yeah. He also has a majority of his crashes on the left side of his tom, but us traditional players tend to keep those either in front or to the right as well.
xTheSquid Well then I guess I'm a hybrid. I play the high hat the way most people do, but my crash (I'm amateur and have no money, so only one) is on the upper left, above my snare.
he's left handed, and also plays open handed. basically what this means is that his left hand is dominant while his right foot is dominant. I have the same situation and I'm very comfortable with how my set up is. although if was ever forced to I could use my right hand as dominant.

I do it all of the time, even though I am a righty. I started doing open-handed drumming when I started playing along to Three Days Grace, in the past months leading up from around March. I love it because it allows me to expand my knowledge of different drumming styles and what it's like to be a drummer, especially for me, so to say

I've seen both Matt and Adam live. Matt definitely did a better job with performing, dude was all over the stage and interacted with the crowd. Adam didnt have that kind of energy, at least not now. Either way, I love three days grace, and they've definitely been an influence on me as a musician.

Yeah if you like the new guy fine but it is extremely rude to badmouth a founding member when they would never have even existed without Adam in the first place. Matt had that mini pops darkest days gig but honestly he is very lucky to be fronting Adams former band imo. I have seen some of Adams performances he was a very engaging front man.

Update: I’ve been playing open handed for about a year now and I love it
+Bilbo Baggins he's not lefty,people who are lefty play with the hi-hat and snare in the right...Neil's technique is called "open-handed drums",it's kinda different.
+João Souza He can still be a Lefty who learned / chosed to play on a Righty "social" kit too...
Open-Handed How I view it, is more the ability to lead with either Hand more than a "technique by itself".

Just remember guys, who decide that Matt's the worst possible singer... Neil and Brad both admitted in an interview that with Matt coming out on stage for his first show as the lead singer, it "Lit a fire in all three of us. We're a band again. If it weren't for him, we'd probably have gone our separate ways."

In my opinion SA is much more heavier...lot of Staind component on the riffs...TDG old guitars werent that dense...but of course its sounds alike ;)
