Very good ,you were a big help in getting my master 100ton.You are very thorough and easy to understand. Some teachers cram this down our throats and rush.Thank You
Just remember he is talking about IALA-B countries (Americas, Japan, Philippines). Lateral buoy colours are opposite in most of the world that use IALA-A.
Thank you, Sir! Many of your videos are useful to me. I have referred to your videos and reviewed your USEFUL ACRONYMS ! while underway. You see,I am driving commercial ships and learning what I need to do in many situations, I am currently working fishing vessels. Driving the boat can be stressful in ports that are busy with pleasure, cargo military, industrial, and fishing vessels. Thank you for an easy way to remember a whole lot of information
That was really good, thank you. Aside from a little bit of technical difficulties and some crappy magic markers, it was actually a very enjoyable and educational presentation. If one doesn't know anything about navigation you can learn a lot from this. I happen to know most but some minor stuff I didn't know and glad I watched.
The red light (112.5 degrees, port bow) on your port bow is directing other that see this light that they are the give-way vessel and you are the stand-on vessel. Your green light (112.5 degrees Starboard bow) in directing vessels that they are the stand-on vessel and that you are the give-way vessel. Your navigation lights do not flash which indicate that you are a navigating entity. Nav lights is an operational system. Lateral markers are informing the physical conditions and have to stay true to its definition..
given the provided visual aid, taking the left channel from the preferred buoy leave the red on the starboard side....therefore also meaning the green is to the port of the vessel. Taking the secondary channel, according to your visual aid, leaves the green on the port side of the vessel, therefore still having the red on the staboard side of the vessel. Same as the preferred channel......????
I am studying for my OUPV Captain’s License.
These videos are very helpful!

thank you sir
you forgot to go over the range makers, that you mentioned at the beginning on the vid..just saying
This looks like it would be good. Too bad that it is unwatchable for me due to the crappy camera continually going in and out of focus.
Why, when Nav lights are red-port and green-starboard, do they put green port side and red starboard side?
