@Dave Davies People always misunderstand what "tone" actually means. It doesn't mean feel, emotion etc, it means the actual timbre of the guitar. 98% of tone is gear, hands don't magically make a tele + AC30 sound like Metallica.
I play guitar since 15 years but discovered Fuzz during the last 3 years and totally love this kind of sound soooo much. From totally crazy to very usefull everything is possible. Now I am on a hunt for all different kind of Fuzz Pedals and of course I have a collection of Big Muffs as well :-) Deep don in the Rabbit Hole
I was searching for a fuzz like this for a long time. I read that it's the same architecture than the Mastotron without the tone control... but my ears tell me this Fuzzolo sounds like no fuzz before. So dirty and clear in the same time. Amazing. I really love it.
Elephant is a really great song. Not a ton of the rock thats coming out these days has clicked with me, but that song is great and Andy completely nailed the tone with this pedal.
Finally! A simple pedal that will create that broken sputtery fuzz that Billy Gibbons uses on Loaded (from the Rhythmeen album) and on a couple of the solo breaks in I Gotsta Get Paid without having to spend $350 for a classic Bixonic Expandora or a handmade boutique like Codtone's Expandra or JHS's Kilt.
1:13 Does anyone know what song that is in the background? I know it's probably Andy's stuff, but is it from a previous demo, one of his covers? or is it just another one of andy's genius? Also what are the second and third songs he plays for the demo?
I received this pedal yesterday and I fell in love with its ability to be a controllable but still very 'ZVEX' sounding pedal. But, this was when it was just on its own and not put into my pedal board with other pedals. It reacted terribly anywhere in the pedal chain and it became totally unusable. I tried lots of different combinations and settings but it just produced a lot of interference, a great amount of awful 'hiss' which I only got rid of by moving the pulse width knob more to the right which then rendered it to spluttery to play with. I'll persist with it but it not filling me with confidence unfortunately. Have you tried this with other pedals at all?
+Heyman Heyguys He does play Elephant earlier in the video, but not on the strat. He plays the strat at 2:33, and he's definitely not playing Elephant.
While the Fuzz Factory, Woolly Mammoth and Mastotron are all fantastic pedals in their own right(and the Fuzz Factory is a radically different circuit with a totally different array of tones and capabilities)-- the Fuzzolo costs a bit less, and it's micro sized foot print is great for conserving space on pedal boards. You can dial in many similar sounds that the Woolly Mammoth and Mastotron produce, and all three preserve lower frequencies well-- lending themselves to bass guitar quite nicely--but you might find you like simplicity and the punchy mids that makes the Fuzzolo a great pedal!
Rida Hallal just listen to it and try to catch the notes. It's quite an easy song. Anytime I want to learn a song I do it by ear, it takes more time but gives more experience as well, so it worth the effort.
Sorry mate, I have this guitar, it's a Tricky Gomez... scontent-b-nrt.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xfp1/v/t1.0-9/10696339_10152321493816780_7419626713567561595_n.jpg?oh=9bd4ca458884f1b402ecf8d473afc7fe&oe=54AA3B3F
Tricky Gomez has different shape of headstock and f-hole on it www.reverendguitars.com/instrument/tricky-gomez/. The guitar in the video has "3 on each side" headstock and no f-hole. Not to mention the lack of bigsby
Josh Fiddlersticks Bass wahs tend to work mad good because they have a bigger range. I know the bass Big muff is actually just a normal muff in a shitty little box. As a general rule, bass fuzz pedals are either the same circuit or have a little more low end dialed in which is good for fat doom sounds
tom Perrett a lot of bass fuzz pedals also have a clean blend to make up for the fact that a lot of fuzzes, drives, and distortions cut the lower frequencies when the gain is turned up
+Josh Fiddlersticks bass pedals differ in the need to low more low end through so it like have bigger cap values. how if playing power chords you be in the baritone range. also the high note strings smaller producing lower amplitude. so you need treble booster in front of the fuzz if using a bass pedal and play any chords or notes below c3.
What a belly-drop, not Life- altering, but disappointing nonetheless. I kept was waiting for the silicon sustain of my Hendrix, small “footprint” ltd. ed. silicon pedal. To me, this Zvex pedal sounds like its battery is dying at the end of any attempt for a sustained note. I’ve listened to several players test it, and it always sounds, sadly, the same: sputtering, spitting and then totally dropping out of sound. Push it into your memories of Jimi, Boston, Cream, etc and try to use it on any of your own songs inspired by those mentioned. It may give one a one - hit wonder, but I have not heard or felt a NEED for this space-saving pedal. I will stay happy with my afore-mentioned Jimi Hendrix silicon fuzz (by the way, the “mini” versions are just as great as the BIG flying saucer types: same electronics on same board w/o wasted space! Choose your tranny [germanium, silicon] and go! Klonebender III, hand-made and meticulously fashioned with one’s choice of transistors, etc is my other fuzz ... tweakable as my Keeley Comp/Lim. Perhaps there is a need for a sputtering, non-sutaining fuzz pedal; I simply do not hear it and am sadly disappointed.
Your vocabulary is so original and vivid! Dude, in music, there must always be room for constructive differences in views of sound. There is definitely a place for this Z-Vex pedal in music! I was simply giving a contrasting view.
It's amazing how Andy will demo a song using a pedal the original artist never used yet still manage to nail the tone of the original recording
@Dave Davies feel is in the playing, tone is mostly gear
Whatever you gotta tell yourself
Jimi didn’t show up with a one string guitar with no amps fuzz or wah pedals going
“Man the tone is in the hands “🤣🤣🤣
@Dave Davies People always misunderstand what "tone" actually means. It doesn't mean feel, emotion etc, it means the actual timbre of the guitar. 98% of tone is gear, hands don't magically make a tele + AC30 sound like Metallica.
@@anthonysclafani3963I agree with You Buy I'd give a little more importance ti picking/fingering.. like a 80% gear/ 20% hands
How sell a pedal in the first 10 seconds of the video
Yup

Happy to help! The more you dive into the different circuits, the more you realize how much variety we can get from these simple pedals.

This thing is so awesome! I love the simplicity of getting a fantastic sound.
this dude plays great in all his vids!
That silver sparkle is incredible.
A humble virtuoso indeed.....love his demos.
This video, unlike many other, has convinced me fully that this is the fuzz for me
I really like the simple controls on this one
Tame impala! Yes! Just found another reason to love andy
Get the pulsewidth control on an expression pedal, and I'm sold
Man those are some BIG frets!
That's what she said.

You're right Don! This would be a good fit.
Wow, that sounds really great. Im not surprised, it IS a Zvex product.
+seifukusha Zvex rules
ZVex gets on the Mooer micro-sized pedals bandwagon. :p
As always...a great demo with great playing! It definitely seems to be one of the most usable and toneful fuzz pedals that I've come across.

Great demo and I want one but don't you think it's kind of rude to put up demos of pedals you aren't selling yet? When are these coming in?
They start shipping March 25th. You should be able to pre-order from PGS now. Rock it!
damn, you have good taste in guitars! first guitar?
ELEPHANT!!!
Can you have this tones with the Mastotron?
What's the first guitar model? Sorry if it obvious, I just can't find in the description or comments. Thanks in advance.

Which guitar is with the double cut ?
What guitar is that?
So why would I buy this over a fuzz factory, wooly mammoth or mastotron all of which have more control? Is the Fuzzolo much cheaper?

Rida Hallal It's actually quite a simple song. Mostly power chords and some staccato with a few arpeggios.
Rida Hallal Depends, the song can be played in drop D without a powerchord, or whole step down with a powerchord. The band plays it whole step down.

GUITAR PLAYERS. How do bass pedals (such as a fuzz) work on a regular six string guitar?
Josh Fiddlersticks Bass wahs tend to work mad good because they have a bigger range. I know the bass Big muff is actually just a normal muff in a shitty little box.
