Toppilansalmi by Night

The video was filmed several evenings during January 2022 in Toppilansalmi, Oulu, Finland. The weather is light frost and relatively clear, so the DJI Mavic 3 drone flies comfortably. The Toppilansalmi area is currently under heavy construction. A few years ago, the high As Oy Tervahovi Siilot (siilot.fi) and now Later As Oyt Pehtoori and Satamakapteeni were renovated and built in the area. A lot of new settlements have also been built on the island side of Toppila.
The traditional Oulu ship Oulu-laiva (merellinenoulu.fi) is currently at the pier in Toppilansalmi. In addition, the strait has the Alpo ( / perinnealusalpo ) harbor tug built in the United States in 1943 (www.merikaupun...). In addition, the strait has numerous small boat docks.
I filmed the video several winter nights after sunset and a little frost. The lights on the city, streets and homes are already on. so the amount of lights, colors, and shadows is considerable. DJI Mavic 3 (www.dji.com/en...) is one of DJI's newest and most advanced drones for enthusiasts. Its dual camera (Hasselblad) can shoot even in relatively dark environments. Its obstacle detection is also very advanced. Flight time is about 45min.
