We would appreciate it if you could use it as a seed for your ideas after considering safety.
You never cease to amaze me, your work is always flawless and outstanding. thank you for sharing your knowledge and talent.
😁👍
That is the coolest setup. Huge big cutter whipping through cold metal like butter, so cool about it you can get a knurl perfect on both axes. Just beautiful.
Mesmerizing. It's surprising how the radius of curvature is almost imperceptible. Great Video. Thanks.
Beautiful work - you always have new and great ideas for cutting metal
Beautiful works as always, and revealing unusual methods too, your channel is very good!
Always amazing watching a true craftsman! Very ingenious!
Great work as always. We shared this video on our homemade tools forum this week 😎
Tiny diamonds! Beautiful work.
J'aime . ✌️ .
Thank youthank very mhch. I appreciate the effort you put in accuracy.
Hello from the US! Very nice video. Thank you for posting.
Incredible workmanship teacher, one day i will do the same . Thankyou
Very impressive. How do you phase/clock the rotation of the spindle with the X-axis traverse? Do you have the equivalent of a threading dial on your crossfeed powerfeed, so you know when to engage the crossfeed? This would be impossible on a normal lathe, I think.
Thank you for watching.
The lever is left in until the processing is finished.
When returning, it is returned by reversing at high rotation.
I did this exact sketchy maneuver one time to cut an arc shaped slot for a tool holder.
A little late for a comment, but this is amazing. What is the rpm and cross feed rate you used to get this pattern?
Thank you for watching.
The rotation speed is 83 rpm, and the feed is 0.8 mm per revolution.
Awesome workmanship, thanks for sharing 👍.
Fly cutting with style. Cool!
I actually had a similar looking feature from a high feed roughing operation (down a slope for a large chamfer) with a 1in or 1.25in dia tool. it obviously wasnt as deep or rough but a few thou. no idea how it happened and will try to do it again one day.
Now that is just beautiful.
Excellent work! 👍
you're full of great ideas bro, well done
Good job nice work 👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏
Very good. I run my finger across my screen it feels smooth!
I feel like every video build has been to lead up to this moment, this specific end of knurling on the lathe..
Interesting method - why do it on a lathe? Milling with a fly cutter would give the same results
The mill doesn't have the table and bit synchronized; you could do it, but you would have to do it in one pass. Notice he power fed the crossfeed back, rather than simply cranking it back by hand, kind of like cutting threads.
@@dave_ecclectic thanks -
nice work, is good to use it for a vice
perfect foot scrubber
very smart. great video , thanks for sharing your skills
my brain still see it as straight cuts on the final product even when i saw the curved lines in the making process.. 🤔🤔
Wow your diy made 😮
Clever! Thank you for sharing.
Perfect Job !
Gracias por compartir tus tecnicas, muy sactisfactorios!!
good idea friends....
Skill is the great equalizer 👍🖖🙂
Hermoso trabajo amigo super bueno y perfecto 👍🙏
What brand is your device and which country is it made in?
Please take a video of the workshop environment and your self
Thank you for watching.
This lathe is an LR-55A made by a Japanese company called Washino.
I'm sorry, but I don't have any plans to film the workshop because I don't think it looks good.
I'm very sorry for the earthquake in Japan
I'm also your colleague. I Like your ideas. Please make more videos
Will you my friend?
Thank you for your concern.
It's very encouraging.
of course. To my colleague's friend.
@@SwaplampJapan

Quite neat. Can do it on a drill press with slide table too by making an offset fly cutter that holds a carbide insert
Won't you need a auto feed to synchronize the position of the tool and the material?
@@Factao a cordless drill on a slide table handle works nicely
@@agoogleaccount2861 Are you doing it in a single pass?
@@Factao yes. Slower for a finer finish. Tool handles etc faster for a coarser finish for vice jaws etc
@@agoogleaccount2861 gonna try that on the mill with a modified fly cutter then, sound like a fun project
God you're a clever machinist.

Masterpiece!
very nice job,thx!
I like it very much.
That is awesome!
Hello I have a question what lathe did you use in the video and what turning knives ?
Thank you for watching.
The lathe used is Washino LRS-55A made in Japan.
The blade used is a high speed steel called NK4 from Koshuha Seimitsu Co., Ltd.
@@SwaplampJapan Thanks
INCREDIBILMENTE SPECIALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Beautiful
👍👍👍 Perfection as always. I have been subscribing for a long time. The varnish on the lathe was very damaged.
@@SwaplampJapanI noticed it was different lathe! What models are they, Okuma, Takasawa???
So to get the knurling pattern right and to not let the tool recut in the wrong spots, I assume that once you engage the cross feed that you do not disengage it until you are done with all the cuts for that “angle of your milling vice attatchment”. You just reverse the spindle and it lets the cross feed go back the other way. Keeping the spindle and the cross feed synchronized.!!! Then when you’ve gotten to the depth you want you can rotate you milling vice 90 degrees and continue taking cuts to the same depth finally unlocking the cross feed once to depth again.
Is that about right?
Nice work man, your techniques and tool making are top notch!👍🏻
@@robertmason8341 Thank you for watching.
The lathe is the same Washino LR-55A as in the other videos, but it is an older machine made in 1972.
The processing process is exactly that.
you are a perfect and master
i love you from iran
Ottimo lavoro!
The turning tool is placed on the turntable and it is easy to fly out, which is dangerous.
Can I get a job in Japan? I am a Sri Lankan citizen. I work as Lathe machine operator.
Thank you for watching.
Most of lathe processing is done by NC lathe in Japanese manufacturing factories.
Even Japanese who can do NC lathe, MC, and CAD are not treated as well as average.
Top Job, Sir 👌
Excellent!
well done sir
What brand of lathe do you use
Thank you for watching.
This lathe is an LRS-55A lathe manufactured by a Japanese manufacturer called Washino.
I think I wrote at bad place izen ni, am I right?
Thank you for watching.
I'm sorry, but I couldn't quite understand the meaning of the Japanese comment you wrote.
@@SwaplampJapan I should say sorry if it is stil not understandable. I wrote: "It seems complicated. This one video(about work), is more harder than your last video. Good."
I actually forget about lesson with yori, so: Now ought be better.
Dude u blew my mind
Nice work but not knurling? Knurling is an embossing process that involves plastic deformation of the workpiece to imprint a texture. This process is diamond cutting, you are removing stock to cut a diamond pattern into the workpiece.
Super!!!
Muito bom, gostei. 🙂👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏻🇧🇷

Wow keren
