I used your suggestions for replacing a HEKI 2 rooflight (the big one). It went fine. I put the new one upside down on the roof of the caravan to apply the sealant, then just flipped it into the hole. Perfect!
Thanks for that. Washing the roof off I notice the skylight frame has become brittle and I thought uh oh this is going to be expensive but having watched your demonstration I’m a happy little caravaner who is going to tackle this job 🙂🙂 what is the name of the mastic so I know I’m buying the right stuff many thanks. Another question my caravan is a 1998 Bailey Ranger380/2 I can find a Bailey replacement so can see other generic roof vents where do I take the measurements from internally or externally to order a replacement.
Hi. I found part 1 and 2 invaluable for replacing a sky light but I do have one query. I have heard that sky lights/roof thicknesses vary. Do I need to take my sky light out to measure they thickness before ordering a replacement. Asking as you can appreciate that taking the old one out may be troublesome if the new one isnt available to go straight in.
hi i need to change two rooflights to our old Granada 34 static caravan...Do you measure inside both sides of rooflight for replacement or from top? I think our two are different sizes ie one 450x450mm then other 550x550mm? Any suggestions to buy rooflights that have insect mesh?
I’ve just fitted a new skylight following this step by step, the job went perfectly well and I have learnt loads, great tutorial, thanks a million
