@@Kai-wc5zi you know most famous designer can make dresses puffy but Disney doesn't want to put that much money on something that they'll be thrown in the warehouse after a movie.
Dresses can be made like that. It involves a lot of fabric, time and work. They're designed more for art rather than wearing anywhere other than a runway. Not practical for a movie as they will be quite heavy and difficult to move in.

2. Disney never intended its live-action movies to be "footage" of their animated counterparts. If you go to the parks and ask the real-life characters about their remakes, the only way to go about it while preserving character integrity would be to acknowledge the animated movie as the real story, but say that they're so excited that the actor who played them in the remake gets to "tell their story" (as was the case in a video that has since been deleted, when Ariel was asked about her opinion on Halle's casting. She said something along the lines of "I'm sure she'll do a great job telling my story")

The live-action Beauty and the Beast, for example, claims that Belle lost her mother as a baby. However, if you visit Belle’s cottage in Magic Kingdom, you can clearly see a portrait of a young animated Belle somewhere between the ages of 5-10, with her mom. And the Maleficent movies not only keep Maleficent alive the entire time, but give her and Aurora a positive, mother-daughter-like relationship- something they DEFINITELY didn’t have in the original Sleeping Beauty. The parks are the end-all-be-all for character lore because upkeeping character integrity is such a huge priority
