"Grow up.
Make money.
Give it to me."
-Disney
Disney wanted people to grow up in the past, now it feels like they’re the ones that need to grow up
@@LucasHopkins2006 facts.
Of course they don't want people to grow up. Growing up means they move on. Mature. They stop buying Disney products.
That's why corporations nowadays love to pander to nostalgia - they tempt you with the memories of childhood, a simpler time, before you were aware of all the problems in the world, before you had responsibilities, back when you just mindlessly consumed whatever was in front of you. Weren't things better back then? When you were a kid? When you didn't have to think, you just had to play video games and watch cartoons and mindlessly endlessly consume Disney products?
I couldn't have said it any better myself.
What do you mean?
Great analysis! Disney films are perfect exemple of not judging a book by it's cover (ironic since they are based on fairy tales). Many people see them as just silly childish films, about how "love always wins" and "if wish really hard upon a star your dreams come true", but at core they teach valuble lessons so viewer can learn from the character achivements and failures and grow up wise and ready to face the challenges in the world rather than being isolated themselves scared of them.
Besides the exemples you mention, other two films that fit with this theme about "growing up" are Alice in Wonderland" and "Bambi".
The first people see as just travel story about a girl who end up in a world of madness but in reality it's actually about a girl who, at first, criticize the logic in her world but, after her adventure in Wonderland (which represent fantasy), she comes to understand the importance of logic in the real world.
The second it's a coming of age story about a deer who slowly experiences the hardships of maturity, losing his mother, but by the end he's able to find love, a family, confronting his trauma and becoming a brave and responsible character.
It's a shame that modern Disney went astray, just look at the upcoming snow white remake
Snow black
Its barely even a remake. Its not even the same story.
Find yourself racist brother.@@KangKoopa
Blame that on bad-faith critics like Cinema Sins for overamalyzing to the point of missing the point. The other is possibly sue to the jaded feelings associated with the founder, Walt, since we can't deny he does have certain qualities that would've gotten him a lot of flack if he was still alive. This is why it's sometimes hard to separate art from artists these days.

I love the way you relate these classic stories to your own life, you do a great job explaining the underlying themes that make these movies so timeless. It works so well on a deeper level since most children grow up on Disney films and they have the power to instill strong moral values we need in real life to grow and change.
Pretty ironic that these films are about growing up but Disney adults are more like grown children.
This video was an amazing surprise with a lot to say. More videos like this please! More videos where you explore the things you genuinely want to talk about!!
This was honestly verry enlightening. It dives into the idea of Fairy tales actualybeing benificial towards helping one grow up rather than just being fantasy to get lost in.
Sure they might be set in fiction but being fictional doesn't mean the lessons don't hold a grain a of reality, because the importance of learning, exploring, experiment with mind and thought to excorcise the mind isn't realy a fantasy it's all to real. Conflicts can be real too. Sure you want to be careful about not believing in something that isn't real and a fantasy is basicly an exageration of real or even a dream of imagioning the what ifs and supposals. Growing up is no exageration however, Growing up is an inevitable part of our life. However how we grow isn't just physical. We go through mental growth, spiritual growth. We either become more mature or shirk responciclities. We either seek integrity or we live a more dishonest life. We're either aware or Nieve.
The history of our own lives is a tale of our own growth and journey though life, how we got from point A to Point B and Why. And so fiction is a great way to further explore the idea of getting from one point to another, despite how real or fantastic it might be. Because at the end of the day Growth is real.
This was nice. Ah classics like with Peter Pan are so good. Appreciate exploring this topic, I definitely want to see more videos like this. Love the superhero stuff, but this was a nice change. Nicely done!
One of the best appreciation videos of classic Disney that I have seen. So refreshing after tons of content teeming with nothing more than backlash, slander, deconstruction, hate and slop pouring. Keep up the good work my friend.
Yes please make more like this. It was a really good exploration of the themes. Thanks.
Loved your takes on this, man. Also-thanks for sharing a bit of your life with us to drive home the point. Beautiful video, brotha 🙏
Phenomenal video!
And one small detail that I really liked, I love when people can view old partners fondly, recognizing what they taught you even after it ended. It's very nice. Very virtuous.
Huchback of Notre Dame is the most on the nose with the mature and "growing up" themes as any Disney media can be. That, and Lion King as well.
Wow this was really well done. Beautiful breakdown of the subject. Wish Disney had you in the writing room. Today’s Disney has lost the talent to tell a good story. It’s currently routed all their stories in social programming and propaganda.
I understand that people are skeptical about whenever Disney is going to announce a new movie or show. But I feel like the reason why we're skeptical is because we've seen one bad Remake back then, and now we think the rest are going to be too, like how can you say something is bad if you haven't seen it for yourself, people are allowed to have opinions, and this is mine. People are being too judgemental about Disney nowadays, and I still have faith that they can tell good stories.
The haven’t seen it yet excuse, how original.
Damn they Disney don’t make them like they used to. The magic, wonder, and symbolism. This was a good watch and makes think on a different note when watching those movies.
Classic Disney films help them grow up while modern Disney films keep them from growing up.
This channel always puts out well thought out videos
Unfortunately, Disney Adults don’t seem to catch the memo
I would love to see more content that you have a passion for.
This has been a very very nice suprise from this channel, and I would mlove more works that channel this much emotion
Much love, keep up the good work!
If growing up just means becoming clinical, then I owe my adult life to politics and the entertainment industry.
@@donttalktostrangers3437 growing up to become cynical and without love is what Captain Hook is, that’s why we need a Wendy.
Glad to be a subscriber to you
Great Stuff!
Yes please make more videos like this😊
I was not expecting this but regardless it was an awesome analysis, maybe next time you should do a similar video for PIXAR and Dreamworks.
Lol this is extra funny because of my username
none of these come even close to themes and lessons in Avatar the last airbender
Not a competition bub
Who else misses old Disney.
Smh, no Song of the South appreciation...
I would like to see X-Men part 3!!
Hey super frame can you please re-upload your How to fix the DC animated movies, your justice league dark apocalypse review video, your uncanny x-men fan casting, your giant size video and your How to make a fantastic four movie please
Are ever gonna write something?
this video only covers the times when disney did not have bad morals like the child is always right (turning red) and self indulgence good/responsibility bad (wish), not to mention the horible decsision to make the live action version of scar the rightful king, plus dreamworks has been making way better morals like not every wish is a good wish/sometimes magic is not required to frufill woure wishes (puss and boots the last wish) the value of parenting (the wild robot) redeming youreself ( the bad guys franchise) and none of us are born evil (dogman) not to mention the shared moral of some people just do not change (dogman/pussandboots the last world). modern disney will never show morals like this and my kids might not want to see films like this so i might decide they need to not see modern disney movies anymore and i would be shocked if they want to see the old disney films.
Disney has always been trash 🙄
Interesting…. still not gonna.
Now, this really sets my hackles up. Original Disney produced animated stories for children. To give young children tales of wisdom & morality. Plus, in an enjoyable format. Then along comes Bodge Igor & the WOKEY DEI unstable mob trying to foist LGBTQ propaganda on young kids!!! Dismal Disney (as I now know it) deserves to go out of business!
