Impressed you didnt give up, Im no one to give advice given you are a so much more capable rider than me but personally I would be wary trying to tackle a big new feature which is quite a step up for me after a long ride were Im already quite tired/batered. Hope you recover fast 🙏🙏
Fair point. The previous two runs up the hill were really to loosen me up and get my head into handling this challenge. Thank you! I'm working on recovering this week to be back after it next week.
Thanks for another excellent video. Sorry you had the crash and hope / pray you heal well and quickly. When you include mistakes and accidents that really is a learning opportunity for other riders which is much appreciated!
You're most welcome. This sport (or recreational activity) has consequences. I love the good and the painful. Most of all I like being out riding. I'm glad if my videos help or if it can make anyone laugh. Let's be honest, groaning when you have the wind knocked out of yourself is pretty funny. I always appreciate prayers!
Thanks! That's the crash that I think is funny cause the camera is on the ground for the next minute as I groan and catch my breath from the wind knocked out of me. :)
This is the four time I've been here since the new Fire Line was opened. I've looked at it. This time I wasn't scared to send it with the potential for a crash. I'm glad it did it . . . .bruises and all. Thanks! I'm working to heal this week.
@@donaldpresley4536 for me it was difficult on my full suspension bike. Next time I get after it, I'll lock out my back shock and work on standing up to get more pop. That should be enough.
20:44 Props for the mad progression in this section of the vid, but you weren't clearing that 1st one "just fine". You were clearing it but not confidently or with control. No way would I have moved on to the whale tail until I was clearing 1 AND 2 without a thought...but I'm old and have to be a bit more concerned with crashing. Unsolicited advice: get some wrist wraps off Amazon. Wear them while riding. They'll help with hand and forearm fatigue and provide some support when you crash.
I'm scared of the jumps themselves. I figured when I was clearing with a speed I was comfortable enough with that I'd just send it. Everything up to the what tale seems like you'll live through it. Once I wasn't concerned about my speed even though I wasn't fully dialed, I thought let's just do it.
I'm a big fan of the first 3 jumps (the whale tail is awesome). The last two are hard on a full squish you really have to pedal in between them to get enough speed for it. I actually fell off the left side of the whale tail my first time trying it. The soft grass was really nice and didn't hurt too bad. I actually saw some guy crash the exact same way you did on the whale tail on the first day of fall fest. They cased the landing and went otb just like you did. I think they should really fix that landing and make it longer/bigger to avoid that from happening. It literally could happen to anybody.
@@aledska Well. . .. . . now that I know that. I'll have to keep sending till I feel comfortable on it. Thanks for letting me know. I find full squish is always more of a workout on these type of jumps.
@trailblazer5273 Your statement "THE WAY I SEE IT, (IS THAT THOSE JUMPS ARE WAY TOO DANGEROUS AND NOT SAFE AT ALL!!)" is incredibly thought provoking. Thank you for adding it to this discussion. I see this jump trail an amazing piece of artwork. This artwork was created to help me leave the ground and land with features appealing to my adrenaline fueled desire to improve my skills. I don't think any trail is too dangerous. I have a certain set of skills, these skills lead to a certain level of capacity. In relation to my own capacity, there are only 2 types of trails in my mind - 1) Trails I'm willing to attempt 2) Trails I'm not willing to attempt. Some times the trails I'm willing to attempt are above what I have the capacity to ride and I'm extremely happy they exist. To me this is no different than going to the gym and working out with weights or exercises that require repetition and practice to be competent. There are things at the gym that fall into the same two categories of willing to try or not willing to try. As there is little potential consequence to spectators watching this trail, I can't think of a better way to allow people to improve skills. When someone crashes like I did at the end of this video, what I didn't show is multiple people asking me if I was alright and if I needed help in any way. The community of people around keeping an eye on each other makes me want to continue and test my limits.
The ending... chef's kiss.
Thank you!!! I glad you see it for what it is.

Best ending to a video I’ve seen in a long time
Thanks! I'm figuring out how to make cinematic endings. 😁
My man you are one brave dude. Heal quick my man. That one was rough to watch. I thought you had it but i was shocked when that happen.

My ribs still hurt from a crash 4 weeks ago. Get well! Nice sends!
Thank you!
I’ll have to say. You’ll try anything. Get well soon!

This line seems best suited for bmx or dj. I'll keep at it to figure it out.
@@AppalachainMTB it’s definitely possible on a full squish, I do it just fine on my deviate. It just takes more effort than I would like
