It’s actually a very well written and comprehensive book ruclips.net/user/postUgkxhgbP-6hUnXu_QRaoHgLztgsI0YF3HqR0 . I wanted to pair this with an updated book on local codes to start planning a post-retirement dream shop. I think I have just about everything I need between the two. The extra plans available for purchase towards the end are priced almost as much as full home plans, not little sheds however.
Hi Erick I was just watching all the series and then I watch this ,it’s so interesting ,I’m from Mexico so sorry if some words are bad written ,I wish you luck
Wow. You are an amazing human being bud, you irradiate peace and a sense a calmness. Been following all your videos. Waiting for the next one. Saludos from Arizona USA.

Enjoyed watching. And for those who pressed thumbs down or made a comment about not very vegan, just Trolls, cause a real person with sensitivities would not be watching a video titled " Processing Own Beaver Hide..."
Nice change of pace! Enjoyed the scenery, birdsong and your wee puppy. Isn't it nice to have a break from constantly building. Stay safe and healthy! Ken from Canada
Hi Erik this is a wonderful video , I enjoy watching you process the beaver pelts , in my younger years I hunted and fished which I loved doing, thank you so much for your great videos .
whyd you keep it as raw hide? why not tan it. would be cool if you had some red oak or a source of tannin in your woods to use as vegetable tan. just chop some up and soak it.
Sam Vittoria hey lets enjoy this beautiful country and while we are at it forget the scene let’s kill defenceless animals hey way to go. Why can’t the animals be part of the beauty or is it more pleasing to bash their skulls in. Strange people get strange kicks in this world
Hi Erik, you live in a nice part of the World away form the built areas/cities and i am sure there are drawbacks to one as young as yourself, but the advantages far out way the minefield of modern society, but I digress. Just to let you know your video was not flagged up on my notifications, so i found it by just keeping checking, unfortunately it does not help with your initial viewing figures if I catch them a day or so later. Wishing you a good day. D
By now, I would have lost probably almost all my digits, numerous self inflicted slicing and stab wounds. I’m a city boy but did live in the country, here near Pittsburgh PA. Your puppy is beautiful, she looks spoiled.

Do you do the filming and editing, or does someone do it for you? Every time I see the camera cut to a different angle, I'm imagining you stopping what you're doing, readjusting the camera, and starting over again, which sounds absolutely exhausting. And that doesn't even include the already exhausting work of building the cabin by yourself with simple hand tools.
any oil will do. could have used to the fat from the actual animal. but then again why bother softening up a raw hide that still has the ability to rot and mold. only time you should be processing raw hide is to bide your time until you can tan it.

I do leather crafting as a hobby so this vid is of special interest to me. I buy all my leather pre-tanned and processed and it is quite pliable. I am wondering if there is a process known to you to make the beaver hides softer and what uses you have for them.

By killing a helpless creature like a Beaver? No, that makes him a murderer I'm afraid.

If you work the hide over the log a bunch it should soften up a lot for you
Such a beautiful place. Was that part of the family farm? Cute little dog. Be safe Erik

How many beavers do you kill? What do you use the rest of the beaver for? No offense meant, I am actually curious :)
We actually eat the beavers it is surprisingly very good meat. We have very many beavers over here. I only got these two beavers this year.
