- Recently, some people in the Orthodox Jewish community have been challenging some of Rabbi Manis Friedman's teachings. Ollie discusses the challenges with the Rabbi and together they unpack them.

This occurs especially from those when the falsehood, pretense, distortions, LIES, from within their false 'new books', doctrine, mythology, ideology is presented explicitly, clearly, precisely, accurately, exactly, conclusively, proven.

The basis of the argument that G-d can not lack is Maimonides' "Guide to the Perplexed". The logic is entirely straightforward. Being ONE, as far as Maimonides is concerned, means being "indivisible". G-d can't POSSESS something because then it isn't ONE, it is G-d PLUS whatever it lacked and subsequently acquired. If that were the case G-d could no longer be considered ONE. Similarly, Maimonides philosophy is that G-d is so completely alien to what we are that if we attribute to G-d anything similar to us we are misunderstanding G-d. So to project human emotions and motivations onto G-d is misunderstanding G-d. You don't have to agree with Maimonides. I personally don't always absolutely agree with the "Guide to the Perplexed", but give the philosophies of Maimonides the respect they deserve.

Rabbi Friedman’s teachings in this interview make more sense to me as exercises in state of consciousness, rather than direct intellectual or otherwise logical understandings.
Maybe I’m just too dull and haven’t succeeded in following his chain of thought aptly enough, but it definitely seemed that his responses may have served as redirection nodes for outside focus, like my own.
It just seemed that from a state of mind sort of perspective, I get the redirection aspect, it brings about clarity and a lighter sense of being in contrast to the vibe of the initial question.
However, from the view of a logical state of mind, it seemed like by the time he concluded his response, we were pretty far away in a different subject matter altogether. In this way the original questions seemed to go unaddressed, from a purely logical standpoint, even if the experiential could be argued to have been addressed.

It means that we serve Hashem however he wants, even if there is no significance to the mitzvah. All mitzvahs have a reason behind them, but they aren't limited to the logic attached to them. It's a concept in kabals ol.

It’s narcissistic to think that WE are in control of our own destiny? We are out on this earth to make it a holy dwelling place for G-d. I didn't know his name, but I've heard him. I watch a LOT on RUclips, so while looking around for the next show, I have stopped to watch him. I am a Christian and am occasionally curious about Judaism. Personally, I dig him. I find he makes great sense and he helps me understand God, Jews and the Word better. I thinks he's wise, truthful and very relatable.
Just between you and me....I sometimes watch him on purpose. 😊

As a thankful man who found out Xtianity was a bunch of man-made nonsense at the age of eleven, I’m blessed to have learned about the principles of Judaism. If time is a factor that affects the creation, is it an aspect of the 'essence' of God or is the rabbi considering it as some external controlling force that is God's overlord?
An attribute does not necessarily rule over the person who it is attributed to.
It's almost as if some treat the supreme being as a normal human being that would be totally controlled by their own emotions. This could lead you to conclude that this is the limited understanding that humanity has of a creator.

I ask the question whether, without vision, simply using your sense of touch, what description do you give for colour? When you lack the sense that allows you the capacity to tell what a colour it is, you're left at a dead end without those senses.

my first personal experience with Manis Friedman, this approach, was 36 years ago, February 1988, which led me, along with my wife into a new path, journey within our lives, thus our family since. These are basic concepts, principles within Our Toraw, Heritage, development for over 3500 years which are similar with Avraham prior to receiving Our Toraw within Our people

Abrahamic religions are funny. Why would god need us to believe & pray to him, and if he does, why not show up to say it? It’s because without the notion of G’d in your life, you become like a cultured monkey. Showing off your bare chest on the internet as a grown man, pushing a Madoff 2.0 crypto scam (doomed to collapse), and acting like a fool on the beach.
You have an empty life, chasing material pleasures because your soul is unfed. The material pleasures try to fill your spiritual lack. But that will never happen. You will chase happiness for the rest of your life, but never be truly happy. You could own 500 million dollars and you would still suffer without the external validation from your peers. Scared to be alone. Still chasing even more ‘success.’ Like an empty collection box with a few coins in it. Making lots of noise when you shake it. But lacking substance.
The opposite is also true: when you have true faith in G’d, you will enjoy even the smallest gifts in life to the fullest. Even a glass of water. A ray of sunshine. You will become humble and grateful. You start to wrestle with your own ego, rather than questioning or blaming G’d. And this turns you into a lamp lighter, rather than into a firebrand that reacts to egotistical inclinations. That’s why G’d is paramount for a peaceful and happy life full of good deeds.
Hitler, Mao, Stalin and Pol Pot all hated any notion of G’d. Without G’d, man’s ego will go through the roof. But when we allow G’d into our life, we will live and act with a healthy amount of humility. We will grow above animalistic inclinations. And I can tell you from experience: even on my darkest days I’m very grateful for a new day of life. Too blessed to be stressed. That’s real wealth, which you can only unlock through trust in G’d. I don’t believe in G’d: I know G’d exists. Zero doubt. Nothing can be stronger or more fulfilling.
