He doesn’t have Alzheimer’s. What he was diagnosed with is a hereditary neurological disease called Charcot-Marie- Tooth. It’s more akin to MS and Parkinson’s than anything like Alzheimer’s. He’s known he had it for ten years, and it’s been gradually affecting his balance which he says makes it kind of uncomfortable sometimes standing at the microphone on stage. Good thing is, it’s not terminal and won’t affect his overall lifespan. He inherited it from his father. It rarely affects the brain.
