    Me and my wife bought our house 10 years ago in a Non HOA neighborhood and we like it here. We get along great with our neighbors, no problems and we don't stick our noses in their business vice versa. Why in hell would you want some nimrod rent a cop wanna be Karen telling you what you can do and can't do on your property? No one is going to tell me that what color my house should be, tell me what color my door should be, tell me I can't grill outside, tell me what kind of flowers I can have outside in my front yard, or hang my clothes on a line to dry after I wash them. They don't pay my mortgage, insurance, taxes, or utilities I do!!! I don't care if my neighbors paint their house purple, bright pink, or green not my property it's none of my business as long as leave me alone and I don't care.. HOA's is unnecessary and I've never heard anything good about HOA ever! I've heard stories about little old ladies getting kicked out their houses because HOA had foreclosed on it and can't believe they can evict people from their own houses. I knew a guy and his wife who were looking into buying a house and the realtor failed to mention that the house they were looking at was in a HOA neighborhood luckily they found out right away and backed out. The realtor was pissed because she didn't get a commission after that so they went somewhere else found a home in a non HOA neighborhood. Like I said if you buy in a HOA neighborhood I think your looking for trouble my opinion.

    Yes. You should avoifd an HOA. All it takes is enough bad neighbors to make what was your chill HOA a hellscape.

      I agree. Saw a 2bed 2bath wonderful location listed for 180k but HOA fee of 825 a month. In my old neighborhood the HOA cost went up to 100 a month and I hated the HOA there. They abuse their power and work like the mob. I will avoid HOAs. Their fees increase every year. Never give people that much uncontrolled power it always corrupts. My new house isn't part of a HOA thank god.

    Living in an HOA for over 20 years I do not like HOA. I am paying my hard-earned money for somebody to tell me what to do on my property. That does not make sense. My HOA had the NERVE to raise or dues 20% this year without a vote from the homeowners because they could. Then the HOA makes excuses, they cannot fix the parking lot pavement, have not fixed the garage roofs in decades, and taking out the cameras. When someone did a check on the finances of HOA some of the money was missing.

    Me & my wife got lucky to get a new build in a community without HOA.
    I remember growing up in the philippines, we lived in a village with HOA. My mom & the HOA president hated each other for decades, my mom always put something new to our house and the HOA president always on our business. HOA president passed away hating on my mom and my mom took that hatred to her grave.
    Hopefully if I move i dont end up in an HOA community i would be pissed all the time if a neighbor will be all up in my business

    Very low-key and benefits the neighborhood

    We are at the point of contacting state government to remove our building from the HOA. Our lawyer/president should have her law license revoked and a formal complaint is going against the bar on her soon for racism, extreme prejudice, falsifying documents and conduct unbecoming a lawyer or board member..

  • @jameshigh6481
    @jameshigh6481 5 месяцев назад

    The odds are that if you live inside the city limits of a municipality of any size, there are already ordinances regarding your lawn or parking your 2004 Geo Metro on blocks in your front yard. And they have a version of Code Enforcement to make sure they're followed. If not, the City isn't doing their job. So HOA fees are basically double taxation. And, truthfully, I wouldn't be caught dead in a shared swimming pool. I'll use my own inside my privacy fence. And if Karen tries to peek over it, she's going to get bit by the 12 volt hot wire running along the top of it. And those things sting!

    Try having a cartel of four people in real estate (lawyer, plumber, developer, investor) give each other the right to do whatever they want but when anyone else does, they are immediately met with by law boilerplate BS to threaten to fine them and put liens on their house.

    The pros do not outweight the cons. Or maybe I'm just used to living in a public street without anybody trying to enforce their opinions as if they were laws.However, I'm not from the USA, but I've seen that HOA systems and usually the people don't have much complains, and the common amenities are very well kept and useful.

    As the man (Gen 1:26-28) KJV, a husband (Gen 2:21-25) and a father (Gen 3:16), the minister of God (Rom 13), teacher (Eph 4) and one of the survivors who was bullied in school, the answer to this question is "yes" you should. I had never heard of HOA until recently and have read nothing but horror stories about it charging homeowners fees, turning everyone's place of peace into an absolute daytime nightmare. HOA obviously stands for Hell On All which is not good for any homeowner. I personally would never purchase a house where I have to continuously deal with Freddy Krueger while I am awake. Man likes peace.
