9:50 - "big yella things" are wind turbine bases for the massive off-shore windfarm off the coast. They float them out then sink them to the seabed for their final location.

Another enjoyable ride in the delightful Scotland. The scenery as you say is stunning although when the weather turns it can be cold, wet and windy. I think the boys missed a treat, especially with the bacon cob. All good things come to an end but it paves way for the next adventure. 👍
As Tojjer29 said, great to see so much of what we did last summer. You certainly had better weather, even though we didn't do too badly on that front. Those Victorians certainly knew how to build things to last - the Culloden viaduct is impressive. We were there in the evening and the pink-hued stone really stood out. Also, I have a photo on the wall I took of that exact view from Struie Hill - wish mine had the blue skies and water that yours did! Nicely done Steve, thank you 👍
Stayed with some salmon fly fishing pals in a Lodge 10 miles up lane from Bona Bridge. Managed to ride those roads and get up round the NC500 while I was there. Although it was in May earlier this year the weather was very much the same. Spent the week riding in a mesh jacket and biker jeans Brought back some great memories, thanks for sharing

But we did get over on the East Coast and those yellow platforms you mentioned I belive are oil rig platforms This year was my 5th tour of Scotland and I must sadly admit if I ever tour there again the vehicle I take wiĺ have wipers !! :-) Thanks for a great video
Lovely video Steve. Nice to see all the places we did on our trip up there. Fun fact: In 2013, I and two other paramedics cycled John O'Groats to Land End. We cycled up The Struie the same way as you rode. I can confirm it's as steep as you thought it was. Great experience all the same. That Culloden Viaduct is still in use today. Great footage. Thanks for posting, see jotted that. 👍
Ah, that sore shoulder is beginning to make more sense now, it did a lifetime of work in one trip. Pleased to see it's allowing you to have a decent ride again, hope Scotland's still on the cards 🙏
@@greywolf9292 I doubt it will be any time this year Mike. I dropped the bike again yesterday. I put a new foot extender on the side stand, and it seems to make the bike stand up more. It was on its side stand yesterday and went beyond the balance point while I was cleaning the exhaust can. I just couldn't hold it cos of my weak arm, and over she went. Luckily the engine guards took the brunt, the right one is scraped and the right mirror case is scratched too. No other damage luckily. Hi Steve, watching your tour of Scotland 2022. Fantastic professional job as always. I have just watched the Falls of Shin, I have rode that route before. What a cracking ride and video Steve. Completely understand why the other lads decided to take a 'day off' after the long ride the day before, and the long ride home looming, but I think if I'd woke to such a beautiful morning, with a round trip of 150 miles predicted I'd have changed my plans 🙂 I bet when they see the video they'd have wished they had. Stunning drone footage and photography. I get on a proper 'downer' when it's time to head home, whether it's on the bike, or a more conventional holiday. Woud you say when you went (May?) is the best time to visit Scotland? Or was it the only time you could all arrange?
Paul we went in July and the other 2 did miss out on a great day. I also get on a right downer when its home time as you know its all over and your heading back to 'normal' life , thanks for watching my friend.
Well that was another lovely day and ride.your bike looked amazing at that view point,oh it's the same as my bike. Why were you on your own Steve, what were the others up to?
The buildings a the Falls of Shin are relatively new. Last time we went the original buildings had to be demolished because of fire damage. The restaurant was owned by Harrods. Don't know if it still is. I got eaten alive by Midges first time I ever went! Decided to go on one of the walks eating ice cream. What an idiot! Lol!

Thanks for that info Steve I appreciate it and as always made a note as I do from anything that might come in for future returns.
@@Steve-Clark Thanks for the reply Steve. Don't know where I got May from?
Well that was another lovely day and ride.your bike looked amazing at that view point,oh it's the same as my bike. Why were you on your own Steve, what were the others up to?
Great day Brian and the other 2 had an off bike day as we had the 323 miler before and had a long one the next day going home.
Another great trip on what appear to be great roads. Plus you were blessed again with good weather. What month of year was it you visited?
We went last july my friend..
Lol!
Ha ha not best idea for midges ice cream lol. buildings are empty and closed down fella.
Is your nav 5 or 6 mate and can you do a video showing how to set nav up to base camp and planning a route
It's the nav 6 Austin and have thought about doing a tutorial on basecamp especially now biking seasons almost over, we'll see my friend.

Was the Falls of Shon Cafe closed down when you where there?
Yes Mike totally closed down not just shut, someone said it was to do with funding or lack of it.
@@Steve-Clarkcheers for the information, we were there n June and a rider from Switzerland said it was shut down so we went elsewhere. Such a shame. Great vids Steve

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again….Steve you are the best. Informative, educational and entertaining
and so professionally produced and edited. ( I think you worked in the film or TV industry )
Your enthusiasm for biking and touring shine through your vlogs. Absolute pleasure to watch. The other boys in your
crew are good too, but you’re the boss. Keep the videos coming, cheers John 👍🏴
Thank you so much for such positive feedback John I really appreciate it and its comments like this that make it all worthwhile. I just really enjoy the tours, the organizing and the editing and for people to enjoy them is the added bonus. Thanks again John.
