P365 X-Macro, Or P365 AXG legion. is one really better than the other?

- The great thing about the EDC pistol market is that there is something for everyone. Take the P365 Macro for example, we have 2 variants of the same pistol. Both pistols are pretty much the same minus some badging and an aluminum grip module. Is one better than the other?
The AXG fits in my hand like a mold! It’s incredible for what it is.
I don’t understand why so many people don’t want to spend a little extra money on something you could potentially have forever, and it’s the single most important tool in personal protection. Think of all the money wasted on crap you don’t need. Stop spending money. Tighten the belt. Cut out all unnecessary spending and go get the piece you want!!
Just because you like something better doesn't make it better for everyone. Everyone's hand is different and some people don't want the extra weight.
You can have either forever
I just upgraded from the macro comp to the AXG. Huge difference for me.
How large are your hands? I haven't had a chance to check it out. I have smaller hands, so the p365 was incredibly comfortable for me. Curious how much wider the grip is on the axg.
I hear those icarious grips are better choice
I own all three variants of the X-MACRO. I also own four different Legion models and calibers. Normally I don’t believe the bs. But, I can honestly say, the Legion series including the AXG P-365 are top tier.
Great video as usual Brother! Thank you for your commitment to the community
The trigger on the macro probably has a much higher round count than the axg Sig just sent you. I’d switch the fcu and see how much that’s makes a difference. I’d also put the eps and tlr-7 sub back on to compare apples to apples.
Been thinking about upgrading from my regular xmacro comp to the legion. Having a hard time convincing myself its worth the money from my stand point. i currently have a tacops magwell already. thanks for the info ! ps- nice hat, i got myself one. thanks for the support
I carry an X and my wife owns an original Macro, I really like the size of her Macro and was debating the various models, good vid comparing some of the differences.
Not a steel frame gun guys.. aluminum, hence the AXG designator ( aluminum x grip)
its steel frame the grip panels are aluminum
@@KorEditing lol, wow..
@@KorEditingwrong it’s aluminum alloy
@@KorEditing NO
@@traitorhatergetarope3163 you are confused with the other AXG frames.
The shoe reference was actually very helpful! It’s like comparing To Boot New York or Magnanni $400 dress shoes to Cole Haan $200 dress shoes.
You always know the answer of what gun the host thinks is better when one has a light and red dot and the other has nothing.
Not really. Crispy does not shoot
Red dots so when we do these comparisons. I try to set the guns up so they fit our strengths
I have both I prefer the AXG Legion hands down !!
The reset is only a thing when target shooting, if you get into a situation when you have to defend your life with your firearm you aren’t going to be focusing on trigger reset when you are trying to stop a threat from killing you
Not a fair comparison, the legion is tricked out. Glad he said something, flashlights reduce muzzle flip and red dots obviously help. Also, this video should've been half the length, that's a lot of unnecessary bull crap.
2oz flashlight helps with muzzle rise and recoil. Lmao.
You say that like its negligible. It's almost 10 percent of the weight of the polymer model, even more with a battery seeing as how you've mentioned the weight of a battery-less light. Its also a variable you've not kept common between the two.
@@matthewwise3360 you honestly think a weapon light is making a difference in muzzle rise.
Yes, both from a weight standpoint (it's called inertia) and from the standpoint of being a spot to put your support thumb (like a gas pedal). They literally sell weights for this purpose, what's the debate here?@@rdrgear
Being a believer in physics and conservation of energy, I do. You are forcing the roughly 355 ft/lbs of most 9mm rounds to exert a rearwards, upwards, and rotational force on a gun that is now 10 percent heavier with that additional weight being far from the center of gravity. Why is this hard?
Wish the legion would come in an all Black with an upgraded flat trigger. My opinion only. 😃
Recently found your channel and love your practical and logical feedback regarding the pistols you compared. SUBSCRIBED!
Another good video, thank you... When if ever do You think Sig will release the Sig P365 AXG Legion MacroTacOps? With your experience, could the Non-Compensated (3.7" barrel) with the AXG Frame shoot as flat? Thanks!!!!
That’s funny
Pretty sure they have the same trigger. X-macro probably just more broken in 🤷♂️
Your exactly right, the axg never got the legion series trigger because sig knew lots of people would carry it, they didnt want people ND’ing and making sig look bad because of a lighter trigger😂
I got the sneaker reference
I just wanted to say I really liked the unfiltered father and son feel this video had. It felt like they could’ve both argued some good points from their personal point of view and Papa could’ve given him some stern real world advice and tech him how to put it into his training rotation. I think that could be a really good series on this channel. Keep if fun, keep it funny and keep it packed full of useful information for a new shorter like that kid 👍🏻
"Buy 'em both." I like that philosophy. Lol.
Awesome content man I just subbed after your last video on the Tisas 1911 carry and after consideration I’m going with the P365X macro. Much lighter with the same capacity. Keep up the good work brother!🇺🇸
Interesting. I would imagine the legion shoots better but the macro is more comfortable to carry
For me the axg is more comfortable.
The P365 X-Macro with the small backstrap fits my hand like a glove. I don't have large size hands. In fact, every 9MM pistol I've tried, it was never a perfect fit for my hand size. With the X-Macro, that's no longer an issue.
Train with the gun you carry, not the biggie size of the gun you carry. Muscle memory 👍
Muscles actually don’t have memory, just saying
Your semantics are wrong. Research muscle memory. It's called science. Just saying 😊
The 'problem' is that the X-Macro Comp came out first. So now we have two nearly identical guns with the primary difference between them being the AXG or alloy grip module. Would I buy a 365 AXG Legion to get the AXG grip module? Absolutely not. IMO, the best bang for the buck is the Wilson Combat X-Macro grip module with the tungsten weight kit for under $100 for both - if you already have an X-Macro. I will, however, consider buying an AXG grip module if Sig ever releases an AXG grip module for the Macro series... but preferably in coyote brown.
The wilsoncombat module is butt ugly. But the rest of the logic is sound. 😂
I thought the whole idea of the P365 was to be the smallest, most concealable 9mm. Why does it keep getting larger, while the P320 keeps getting smaller?
Probably because the 365 accomplished it's objective and moved on to capitalize on it's popularity. Sig couldn't go smaller so it obviously went larger and is killin it in the market. Great marketing..... Very smart people over there at SIg.
1 serial number, effectively multiple different guns to fit your needs.
At least 365s don’t go bang by themselves
The P365 series is what the P320 should have been. Sig basically took the slow-selling P250 and changed it to a striker-fired system. There’s a blurring of the lines with the P365 Macro and P320 compact. Other than width, they’re the same size.
Could you say, do the herrington arms frankenstein build on the AXG legion grip module using a regular p365 slide to be able to integrate an aftermarket comp?
Thanks for answering.
Had both, the Legion just fit my hand better so I sold off the other.
Pretty sure you mean aluminum. Can you give us a measurement on the legion frame? I know its 1.3 at the magwell but can't find a measurement for the actual grip
after having the Axg legion...im looking to buy 365x for daily carry.
Are you finding the axg to be too over the top to carry?
@@alexwalker5645 just picked up the regular p365x with safety. im a small dude, the smaller p365x fits my EDC needs better. or else id just carry the legion. the lighter weight, the smaller size, and the safety made it more ideal for everyday carry. the Legion is a targeted carry if i know where im going.
@@jagen304 I hear ya. The regular X really is perfect.
@@jagen304 with a safety 🤮 lol jkjk... kinda
Try the macro with Wilson combat grip module
Since you prefer the trigger on the X-Macro, why not swap the two trigger groups, putting the better trigger in the better gun?
@@THEVCDL not a huge deal to be honest. I just don’t really need to, it’s carry gun. If I do have to use it. The distance that I would most likely use it. The trigger won’t be an issue.
For the $400 difference go with Icarus precision macro frame you won't be disappointed.
Agreed. Stock is the issue with those after market frames. I will eventually snag one. They are a nice cosmetic upgrade.
I feel like it's more than just a cosmetic upgrade... The "gas pedals" thumb rest and the overall ergonomics are a huge enhancement for mitigating recoil.
I use the tactical trigger kit in all my 365’s and the reset is so much shorter
Did you happen to swap the FCU between them to see if one happen to have a better trigger or you prefer the Polymer frame more?
Why is there 2 different ones a training and a carry. Wouldn’t you want to train as much as possible with your carry?
@@robertreyes6456 the gun size is a factor yes. But the actual fundamentals is the focus. The shooting skill transfers over, to any size pistol.
@@rdrgear my fundamentals are definitely improving but no where near where they need to be. I appreciate you answering keep making that content!
For this to be fair they would have to have the same sighting system. Most people would shoot better with an optic compared to iron sights.

Go and grab the MCarbo trigger for the 365. Done deal. It is so much better. It's not even close. Worth every penny.

I couldn't tell for sure, is the grip longer on the Legion?
The grip is not. It does have a mag well, that could make it look longer.

why didnt the AXG frame compete with Icarus???? no thumb rest?
I would not want the thumb rest
Apples to oranges. Put the same gear on each and try again.
@@andrewdo9722 the guns actually have the same trigger. I just like one better
@@rdrgear how many rounds have you shot on each? one might be broken in more?
I rather have a longer barrel for more velocity than porting. It's not a 500 magnum, it's 9mm. Not only that, this gun is not for competition.
@@jamesoncross7494 I highly that much barrel length will make a diffence in a edc pistol.
@@rdrgear But doesn't the greater sight radius of the 3.7" macro make it more accurate than the 3.1" barrel?
@@Philmoscowitz no. The barrel
Length on guns this small
Does not play into it. In my opinion it’s an edc gun. 7-10 yds
@@rdrgear Sorry, I wasn't clear. What I meant to say is that the X Macro non-comp (which has the 3.7" barrel) has a greater sight radius than the X Macro comp (which has the 3.1" barrel), and greater sight radius means it's easier to acquire the target.
@@Philmoscowitz no longer barrels have nothing to with getting on target. It’s an edc pistol the longer barrel is irrelevant. If anything the comp barrel will perform better, with helping to reduce the muzzle rise. Hence more rounds on target. However a proper grip and trigger press does this as well.
I have 365 Tacops and Legion. AXG is hands down better. Tacops has a 4-inch barrel while AXG is 3 something, but it shoots flatter.
At what distance were you shooting from the target?
@@RJasonKlein most times 7-10 yards.
Try switching slides to see if the triggers changes
Sig triggers don’t work like Glock triggers. Striker spring and striker friction have almost no impact on trigger weight. You wouldn’t be able to feel any difference.
For AIWB? EDC?
I have a xmacro non comp 3.7 barrel with a green dot and light ,i get better groups then that on the average it tac drives the bullseye even double tapping at 7 to 10 yards.

Is it ok to call ALUMINUM casing, steel casing, your Honor? 😂
Sigs website says the grip module is alloy which is not aluminum. Steel is considered an alloy.
@@dcarnes1aluminum is typically an alloy. Rarely is anything made of pure aluminum.

What about the Hellcat?
so i own the OG version and recently shot the legion at the range(i think it's featured briefly in a short i posted a couple days ago) but yeah you'd really really have to be a sig fanboy to make that purchase over something different for the price. especially for a gun that can't take a barrel longer than 3.1 inches.
