I am just NOT an aluminum plate guy. I have the same keycaps on my GMMK pro with AKKO Piano Pro linears and it sounds like this but better. All of the same mods done. But like the sense75, the GMMK came with an Aluminum plate and once I switched that out for Polycarbonate... that was the final touch. I now have that creamy thocc with absolutely no case ping, rattles or any noises. I think a POM plate for this board would get rid of the last little pings and high pitched noises you're hearing. I actually thought about selling my ID80 with a lot of mods for a sense75 now that the prices have come down but seeing that I'm going to have to do all the same work just for it to sound ok is a pain. Plus no PC plate option for this board.
I've got a question, is putting that specific type of foam safe for you pcb? I've watched Hipyo Tech do a press and seal mod for his but he says it creates a lot of static electricity and could zap your pcb. So is this method in your video safe because if so I have the same foam and would like to try.
This is just my personal opinion and I am not a scientist by any means. The press and seal has a net negative charge on its surface, so that it sticks to whatever you pur it against. Where as PE foam that I am using isn't meant to stick on anything. I'd say PE pouch foam is a lot more safer compared to press and seal. But, you'll need to create a cutout space for the stabs if you do PE foam pouch. Where as press and seal probably doesn't need the stabs hole to be made.
Hey man, sorry but I've got another question. I just wanna make sure it's safe before I do the mod. So I have similar PE foam that I got in some packaging with my GMMK pro. The PE foam came with it wrapped so how do I know if the PE foam is antistatic or safe? I really don't want to break my pcb so I just need a little bit of help understanding.
@@armaanbedi7150 while I don't have the true measurement of how static happens, you can think about it this way. Some or most menufacturers already come with PE foam included underneath of the PCB. PE material, Polyethylene does not create any form of charges by itself.
I think it's worth the $100 now. I'll mod a $100 keyboard to get that sound. I buy high end pre-hand-lubed switches too, so when it's all said and done, I'd still be looking at $250 - $300 for the barebones plus quality switches and caps! :)

Aren't those both well over the $99 price, though? I agree that drop 100% cheaped out on the inside. But the point was drop's sense75 will be in stock. Meanwhile, other popular options like zoom75, qk75, and some other popular pre sold/group buy are just not friendly towards to keyboard shoppers. Plus the tofu 2.0 is priced near $200. With that price difference, time and effort can save you money.
My experience with M1 is good. In my very personal opinion, You won't go wrong with both. M1 will come with more foams technically. Switch pad, plate foam and PCM foam. Only preference I have towards M1 is that it come with Poly plate. I like Poly better than aluminum but both are good options.
@@ImSquint Thank you, I needed that, also it's very true that the board comes with a lot of foam, I even used the packaging foam and stuffed it in my board.
Don't watch Hipyotech. He is making cringy casual keyboard content 24/7, only aiming for people who hear the PE foam thock for their first time and promoting trash boards like Keychron. And while promoting better budget options like the Zoom series, he is completely ignoring the QK or Jris series which are considered to be more refined, also ignoring anything other than foamy sound, which tends to get boring for many people. I'm not saying that you have to dislike foamy sound or spend a lot of money on a keyboard, it's just that he isn't covering other options which are as good or better. Anyway, I can assure you that the Monsgeek M1 was a really good choice for the budget :) I don't know much about the sense75 since I'm at the beginning of this video other than people saying that it was overpriced af.
It’s actually outrageous that board was ever $400, I’m sorry you bought it. Whoever runs Drop’s keyboard department is on a whole other level of delusional. They have good audio deals though.
So glad I went with a Q1 Pro. For my first all aluminum case board it was well worth the money

Do you know how to download the software to be able to change the color of the RGB lights on this keyboard?
Drop website offers QMK software available directly from their website. I highly recommend checking the instruction
For the foam filler, is neoprene OK, or does it need to be memory foam?
I love neoprene rubber sheet in aluminum keyboard. it is one of the best to reduce any metal ping. I used it in my Keychron Q2 and Mod007
for $400usd you could prob go for TGR Tomo now... Sense75 is pretty decent in the price range of $99-$125 barebones but is a "definitely no" for $400
The fact that you spent $400 to get a budget board. There are many boards in the hobby that are way better.
This
Tell me which then? I ask for Alu case and 75% of course

Comparing to qk and kbd tofu 2.0 - $99 really doesn’t add up the maths. This hallow acoustic could have been avoided by adding proper base foam easily

I would rather go for the zoom 75 due to my laziness 😅

a lot of modding required to make a $400 keyboard sound decent. i get why you were upset when you got it

even at 99 bucks it aint amazing considering the monsgeek line exists
