  • Hey loves,
    Wanted to show what it looks like for me pumping while working a 12 hour shift. When I first returned to work I would nurse on the days I didn't work and exclusively pump during my shifts and nurse at night when I got home.
    I had no clue what to bring, how to store my milk, or how to make it work so my supply didn't drop. In the beginning I would bring 6 bottles to store my milk, a cooler, ice packs, pump parts, and supplies to clean all my bottles. That was way too much work, and I never had enough time to do it all. So I did ton of research, and asked other Nursing (RN) Moms what they did and I was able to streamline and wanted to share to help some of you Moms as well.
    What really helped me cut down on carrying multiple items, having to wash a ton of bottles and parts, and knowing my milk is stored safe is Ceres Chill Cooler.
    *Full Disclosure: I am now in a partnership with Ceres Chill. However, I did purchase my cooler and used it for 6 months prior to becoming one.

    Thank you for this video! I will be starting in the ICU as a new grad in a couple weeks and my baby is due in June. This definitely gave new a realistic idea of how to schedule sessions. Thank you!

    Do you add your milk into the same container over the full time at work?

      Yes, I would add my freshly pumped milk to the same container. I would let it pour down the inner chamber to help chill it as it mixed with the previously chilled milk. But if you aren't comfortable mixing your milk you can chill it in the bottle for some time before addition it to the rest of the cooler.

    Where did you get your zipper scrub top?

    Hi! I'm returning back to work in a hospital and received this bottle from a friend too. Do you think the stored milk has a weird taste in it after sitting in stainless steel? I feel like after cleaning the stainless steel it has a metallic smell to it and don't want it to affect the taste either, so I'm hesitant to use this! Thank you!

    Hi! While at work, do you keep the Ceres Chill Container in the fridge after each pump session?

      Hi love, no need to. My chiller stays in my bag and I have it near me. The main reason I got it is because there’s never room in our staff fridge and the temperature fluctuates from the amount of time it is open. With my chiller it stays right next to me and I know the temp is consistent.

      @@NurseSharlene This is great! I will be returning to work and I too work in a hospital… I don’t even put my lunch in the shared fridge so this item and this video was a timely find. Thanks Queen!

      @@NurseSharlene One more ques… Have you ever done it the other way where you keep the milk in the outer chamber and freeze and put ice in the inner chamber?

    • @NurseSharlene
      @NurseSharlene  2 года назад

      @@DebbieDowner114 yup I have done both. When my supply was higher I used the outer chamber for my milk. I would freeze the inner chamber overnight. Pack it in the morning and use the cap to hold the inner chamber so it didn’t touch anything, when I poured my milk in. It stayed cold even longer!
