Thank you! I've gone from a sponge and bucket user to someone with a room full of detailing gear and half an ounce of knowledge! Another very good video!
it's nice when you're done though, and your car is so nice and shiny and smooth. then you go to work the next day and there's already all the dust in the world on it
Hey man, respect. Clear info at a great pace, and didn't push a particular product, just the concept. A rare thing I think, got the feelign you're doing this to actually help people and not push anything.
This video has answered a few burning questions I had. I thought I had figured them out for myself, but wasn't sure if I'd come to the right conclusion. As much as I love seeing fancy cars being worked on, it's a breath of fresh air to see some back to basics videos.
Larry your videos are great, what bothers me (and it's on many, many other detailing videos too) is the inaccurate and sometimes 'dangerous to your paint' info and 'advice' given out by others in the comments section. One of your commenters claimed that clay barring and compounding do the 'exact same job'! They do not guys! Don't clay your car every few weeks, it WILL scratch your paint, as Larry says, do it rarely like going to the Emergency Room (A&E here in the UK). Simply put, if you are going to compound and polish your car then ALWAYS clay it beforehand and if you are going to clay your car (because the surface feels rough as *****) then be prepared to compound and polish it afterwards to remove the scratches you will have just put into the clearcoat (another correct terminology issue, it's clearcoat we are compounding, polishing, cleaning and protecting NOT paint!) If you get paint colour on any of your pads, microfibres etc then I'm afraid you have a serious issue on your hands! Unless you have a classic car from pre-clearcoat era car painting of course. If you are going to compound and polish your car make sure it is COMPLETELY clean, use chemical decontamination at some stage (fallout remover, APC, citrus degreaser, tar spot removers etc- whichever ones float your boat) as well as mechanical decontamination (clay barring) and use a panel wipe each time before compounding or polishing to remove any excess residue from claying or any previous products used. Good luck guys! (Maybe practice on an old hood/bonnet from a breaker yard!)
That's a good idea. I was just saying there needs to be like a one-day course that you can sign up for where you learn how to do these things properly for your vehicle so you're not having to pay each time to have it done by someone else. I know I won't get as good of results but I feel like at this point I just need to hand Compound and polish.
I've been washing my cars wrong for years. Thanks for all your videos!!! It seems counterintuitive to spray a product while you're trying to dry your wet car but it works so well. Spent 5 hours detailing the outside of my black Audi A8L and it looked like black glass. Thanks again. And don't apologize for repeating (driving home) those reminders in other videos. That's how people learn...repetition for emphasis.
Your eight minute video just explained what ive always wondered my whole life and explains why ive never acheived happiness with my hard labour-i was doing it all wrong! Driven black pickups for 25 years and couldnt ever make them look the way i wanted and after watching this video I now know what works and what doesn't. Im very fussy about my vehicles and how they look. Thank you! Cheers. Mike
This video was most instructional. I’ve been wondering if I had redundantly bought the same products, but I now have a clearer picture of how they work in unison to create the perfect paint look. Thanks again Larry
+AMMO NYC since I don't have the tools to polish and compound, is it fine if I wash, clay, and then wax. Would that help make it a bit smoother and shinier?
Clay bars or compound, not before, not after, not with. They do the same exact thing- remove a thin layer of paint, along with dirt & grime. Compound is easier and faster with an orbital polisher.
Man I have been learning from you for about a year, when ever I have an issue for my car I return to your videos and I find the solution. This video made me really understand a lot and as a result my car is still shiny clean since my last work on it last weekend :)
Went back to this video when I couldn't figure out how far to go with getting "swirls" out. Larry always clarifies the issues. Thanks again. Keep it up
Im pretty sure he first washed and rinsed the car and then used the remaining clean soapy water with the claybar. Claying before properly washing would not be good.
Thanks for another awesome video Larry. You give the best possible explanation of the differences between polishing and compounding and the neccesity of compounding to remove scratches and restoring the paint finish followed by polishing to refine the surface and deepen and bring out the shine/gloss. You really bring these sometimes difficult to understand topics to the masses so everyone has a good understanding.
OMG me too! I think of washing my car as a rain dance. If you are experiencing a drought, call me to come wash my car in the area and I promise, it will rain within hours.
Thank you Larry, not only for what you thought and still teching me about deatiling a car, but teaching us something that few people can , and its your way of laerning and understanding things (especialy in ATA series with Kevin ) and convey it on video to us, its what you call your nerdines, thanks , keep being great at what you do
finally someone who knows how to explain the difference and show the difference. great illustration on capturing it on camera . I learned a lot from your video. thanks
If you have never clayed your car, and your paint still feels rough after washing it you should clay it to get the bounded contaminates off. You don't have to clay your car every time you wash it , there is no need. If you you feel that your paint is pretty smooth after you wash it and all you want to do is remove your swirl marks and minor scratches and make the paint pop again then compound then polish and then wax DONE. Great Video and explanation Thank You!
I've been searching for info on detailing as I'm a newb and I found your videos. Really like how you explain things. You don't sound like an infomercial and give real world advice. Keep on making good videos. I'm gonna go beat my head against the wall cause I can't figure out what regiment to use for washing, paint sealing, waxing, glass...Oh and then there's the interior...
Lets say the paint is brand new. What do I do to keep it looking that way? Since polishing and compounding is not needed. Do I just wax? Whats the difference between wax and sealing
Same here. I have a brand new truck that doesn't need compounding. I usually wash it then apply a pure carnauba paste wax. Wish I could find an as good alternative since applying and removing the wax by hand is a pain in the ass. There must be machine type waxes out there.
Patrick94GSR Ok lets put it this way. I just repainted my car. Done the paint correction and all. What about after that? like, maintenance if no correction is needed.
+Harzman01 Ultimate protection would be a 3M clear bra, they're ridiculously expensive though. Second would be a 'nano' coating topped with sealant then wax. Tertiary to that would be a sealant topped with a carnauba wax and last would be just a carnauba or whatever is mixed in with a soap. All these products do is add layers of procreation to the clear coat, which is a protector in of its self. Wax and sealants can be applied by a machine with an extremely soft pad at low speed. The goal being not to be abrasive but to just make sure the product makes into the microscopic crevices left even by the most refined polish. Speed should be kept low to minimize heat build up so the product doesn't breakdown before it even sees the sun.
+Harzman01 but like +Patrick94GSR mentioned even a new vehicle will need some paint correction before adding a bunch of layers of protection. You would be mortified to see how they washed new vehicles at dealerships I've worked at. Mud covered truck followed by a brand new Hellcat, with the same shitty brush 😑
I've learned so much from you guys.....my 12 year old raven black escalade had been abused by the previous owner. ...but since this channel and many trials, errors and time, my ride looks incredible and I brag.....oh yes...I brag
Thanks, that makes perfect sense. The key distinction made between compound and polish just before the half way point was worth listening to this alone. Great video 👌
youtube has taught me so much about detailing cars. thanks to kind people like you its a shame I cant use any of it in real life... could get a job at a dealership for min wage but they do the opposite of everything you say to do.. its all about speed to them... tried running my own business did well but my truck broke down and I couldn't afford to fix it and I am not able to detail at my place anymore
my wife's care is about 6 years old and has only been washed. I was going to do clay bar (it needs it) then compound, then use touch up paint for the areas that didn't come out with compound. After touch up paint dried, I was going to use polish to get it to pop and in theory to help blend in the touch up paint, and last add a wax. And I on the right track? Will these steps bring it back to a new like state?
Super video Larry. Thnx for making a clear and concise video. All I need to do now is pluck up the courage to compound and polish on my Alfa 159. And it's black 😱😱😱
It's sad you have to put disclaimers on your INFORMATIONAL videos..... Thank you Larry, you have renewed my dormant detailer and in the past 4 days taught me tips I never considered!! YOU ROCK!!
Sorry but "why you wanna polish your car..is it a showcar?" Is nit nice to say.. you dont need a million dolar car and not the car price makes you care about your car. If someone likes a fiat multipla he can care about it as much as a ferrari or a "show car" owner (who actually cares so much about his car that he have to pay someone rather than taking his time) so please dont be stupid...for someone like me an 1500$ golf mk3 worth the effort too :) A proud mk3 owner :)
I asked that question so you can evaluate what you want to accomplish. Are you removing some scratches, are you competing in a car show, are you trying to win the concours D'elegance, etc. that's all. It doesn't matter if it's a $1,000 car or $1,000,000 you just need to have a goal in mind so you know how much work you have ahead of you and what process it will require to achieve your goal. Hope that clarifies it.
Great upload, thank-you for breaking down the basics, as so many people I've talked to have in some way compromised, what I had previously been informed.
Even when it's a turd a good wash will bump up the price a fair bit. So if you want to sell a car like this it's a good idea to give it a good wash. Perhaps you don't have one. But I bet someone in your immediate family or circle of friends do.
Everyone is entitled to their own car preference. Everyone is allowed to love and care for their car. I could ask why someone who sounds like a turd is allowed to comment.
Great vid Larry! I get the whole terminology thing, so often I'm out waxing or freshening the sealant on my car and people say I'll wear the paint out! Know your products and understand why you need them not just cos you herd about them
Thanks for this video Larry. Although I have an extensive knowledge of this topic and many others, my customers do not. I will use this video as a tool so they can have an easier introduction into detailing lingo and understand what I'm talking about when I'm recommending services. Great work as always.
Thank you very much for this video, in fact I was mismatching polish and compound, now i understand that compound is for deeper marks, while polish is for very fine halo and compounding veil removal.
Great video as always, finally an "every man" car, nice to see how restore paint in a common vehicle, not just in sports cars. Thank you for the tips & concepts you always work on your videos.
Have to say. this is the best video Showing before and after...actually showing the Swirls pretty good in the Taped over parts. Ya, not big enough difference with the Polishing after the compounding..so I don't plan on the cost or time of the Polishing step at this time with my cars...since not being in Car shows or judging type stuff. cheers. thanks for your vids. Especially the Compounding ONe you did
Hey Larry, I just want to say how much I love your videos!! I wouldn't have had near enough confidence to start my own detailing business if it weren't for you. Keep it up!! Hey, how about a video comparing wax vs. sealant vs. ceramic coating?
excellent video as always. I just compounded and polished my boat with a DA , first time ever attempting this. came out very nice. I wish i thought clay baring the boat first , that would have helped me out in hindsight. But to fully do my 23' boat inside the hull and out it took almost 2 full days because of the extensive surface area. your videos definitely helped me out , thanks
I don't think clay barring the boat would help because it's the gel coat that's oxidized not contaminated with dirt or particles. Keeping it waxed is a must to keep your hard work shining on your boat.
Thank you for the great video. Looks like I'll try this on the family people mover. It's three years old and no wax applied since the day it was bought from the dealer, rain spots everywhere and the acid rain has dulled the thermalite gray shine to a dull gray.
I recently bought a lightly used 14 Subaru Forester in dark grey. Between that color and Subaru's soft paint, there are tiny clearcoat scratches all over. Especially around the door handles of course. Two questions; 1. Would compounding basically nuke all of that by default? 2. If I didn't want to compound it yet, what's your go-to solution for these types of scratches? I'm hoping for something I can apply locally that won't stand out like a sore thumb. Maybe with just a full body wax coat after. Thanks!
JUST LOVE THE CHANNEL!!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I am really wanting to up my game, thanks for doing basic videos. Thought I was good found I’m only fair, but I learn fast.
Sir ,I'm a big fan of you,I learned a lot from your videos. My question on washing is:- How often one should wash the car ,I mean a week ,a month ??does frequently washing a car makes some areas rusty in long run in a vehicle? plz reply I have many mixed answers on that.
That was quite the revelation about how often do you clay your car. I thought it needed to be clayed before every wax/polish (if I'm using the right terms)
I was watching lot of video but your it's the best one if we wanna understand the deferent between washing clay compound and polishing the definition its was really specific thank you so much
Great video , I always wondered how to get rid of light scratches. I had to take my wrx to the body shop recently and I noticed they did a poor job washing my car because there's light scratches everywhere .. I know they weren't from me because I 2 bucket my wash and use great towels to dry. Looks like I need to get a good detail now.
Hey Larry. My two cents... towards the end of the vid you are showing the results of compounding and polishing. Your camera movements do not stop and you are moving all over the place. Try to fixate on one spot long enough for the camera to focus and resolve the detail. If you are constantly moving the camera, all you are getting is motion blur and no detail. Big fan, great vids, thank you Larry.
okay i have a 04 Toyota Prius the bumpers really need help so i got a buffer , today i was wondering what the best way to go was , you just raised more questions then answers , now i am considering claying my bumpers ,
So this is my question? I just bought two new cars ( Gray and black). I like doing all the work myself because I feel I will do a better job than someone else plus it's cheaper to and a fun project. I know if I wash the car with dish soap I will be removing the wax coating it came with from the dealership. I believe these are all the steps that I need to take to get my car to a show finish. 1.wash with dish soap Wash with car soap Meguiars gold 2 Clay if necessary This is where I get confused because I've seen people just wax from this point. Should I compound then polish then wax? I'm also wondering can you put two layers of wax..... meaning after waxing and buffing out the first layer of wax from the entire car ... restart and wax again
Man, it's my old car! These videos are so helpful. Do you have a video on how to prepare to care for your first new vehicle? I'm just about to take home a brand-new car for the first time in my life and I could use a plan of action. How do I prepare to keep my car as close-to-new as possible? Should I shell out the money for ceramic sealant right away or should I get a clear bra? Maybe this would make a good quick stand-alone video?
Nice explanation Larry!!! Would you make video tutorial of how to use Rotary polisher, what to do and what not to do next time? It would be very helpful!! Thanks!!
I have the exact same car. I used orange LC pad with fg400 then a white LC pad with fg1000 and the paint was flawless. topped with 2 coats cquartz uk. once every spring I use carpro essance with a black finishing pad and top with more cquartz. Paint is really thin on the Fit.
Thank you! I've gone from a sponge and bucket user to someone with a room full of detailing gear and half an ounce of knowledge! Another very good video!
Hey same here, this past month I've been going crazy trying to properly detail my car. It's driving me nuts, but I'm having fun learning and doing.
it's nice when you're done though, and your car is so nice and shiny and smooth. then you go to work the next day and there's already all the dust in the world on it
Right i use to call it a day once i sprayed water used some soap and dried it(using a regular towel at that) learned alot from these vids
Shaun O'Connor Same!
Shaun O'Connor same I went from one bucket dish soap sponge air drying to detailing
Finally he works on a normal car
the stuff he does can be done on any newer car.
@TheCamaro5 thats not really his point
I thought the same thing, too. I liked his other video where he washed his wife's Subaru.
mike hunt
or average, as I'd say... lol.
Thanks for all the hard work you do for us Larry. We all appreciate it!
Who else would enjoy watching that 5 hour video?
I've been washing my cars wrong for years. Thanks for all your videos!!! It seems counterintuitive to spray a product while you're trying to dry your wet car but it works so well. Spent 5 hours detailing the outside of my black Audi A8L and it looked like black glass. Thanks again. And don't apologize for repeating (driving home) those reminders in other videos. That's how people learn...repetition for emphasis.
I never thought of claying while washing with soap..seems super efficient
Your eight minute video just explained what ive always wondered my whole life and explains why ive never acheived happiness with my hard labour-i was doing it all wrong! Driven black pickups for 25 years and couldnt ever make them look the way i wanted and after watching this video I now know what works and what doesn't. Im very fussy about my vehicles and how they look. Thank you! Cheers. Mike
Correct procedure? (Assuming the car needs all steps) Wash & Dry, Clay bar & dry, Compound, Polish, Wax?
i have the same question...probably yes
that's only assuming your car needs it. So you need to look at your paint and see if it needs a compound and polish. but yes.
i like cars without clearcoat, clearcoat is a pain...
Wasn't he claying while washing? I think I read a comment somewhere that said "good idea of washing and claying; saves you time!". Is that so?
You got it!
This video was most instructional. I’ve been wondering if I had redundantly bought the same products, but I now have a clearer picture of how they work in unison to create the perfect paint look. Thanks again Larry
Correct order would be ....wash.....clay.....compound....polish.....wax?
yup!
+AMMO NYC since I don't have the tools to polish and compound, is it fine if I wash, clay, and then wax. Would that help make it a bit smoother and shinier?
The clay will def make it smoother. Not sure on shinier. If you want shinier you're gonna have to probably compound and polish.
Clay bars or compound, not before, not after, not with. They do the same exact thing- remove a thin layer of paint, along with dirt & grime. Compound is easier and faster with an orbital polisher.
I have not enough products so can I wash then compound and wax later to remove haze of compound
Man I have been learning from you for about a year, when ever I have an issue for my car I return to your videos and I find the solution. This video made me really understand a lot and as a result my car is still shiny clean since my last work on it last weekend :)
Good job brother. May God keep blessing. You have great talent.
Thanks!
Went back to this video when I couldn't figure out how far to go with getting "swirls" out. Larry always clarifies the issues. Thanks again. Keep it up
i really like that method of using clay while you are washing with soap. saves a lot of time i suppose.
Im pretty sure he first washed and rinsed the car and then used the remaining clean soapy water with the claybar. Claying before properly washing would not be good.
very good point. i should have thought of that.
Soapy water will ruin the clay bar, but it's much faster to do it this way.
Correct
It will only ruin the bar IF you do not wash it in clean water afterwards
Very helpful. Just bought a used Honda in this colour and the paint is covered in swirl marks. So nice to the results on my colour, gives me hope.
I don't even wash my car and I find your videos interesting 😂
Thats the best compliment. Thank you!
Ikr😂
+Charles Wellington lll no way
Thanks for another awesome video Larry.
I don't know about you guys, but every time I wash my car few hours later the rain has to fall. Every frikin time :)
Photo Therapeut LOL, It always happens to me :o/
OMG me too! I think of washing my car as a rain dance. If you are experiencing a drought, call me to come wash my car in the area and I promise, it will rain within hours.
yeap yeap
i tell people the same thing.
or the road to work on a monday just happens to be flooded with red dirt
Thank you Larry, not only for what you thought and still teching me about deatiling a car, but teaching us something that few people can , and its your way of laerning and understanding things (especialy in ATA series with Kevin ) and convey it on video to us, its what you call your nerdines, thanks , keep being great at what you do
Hood looked increddddible after both compound + polish. Think that removed a lot of clear coat?
This is BY FAR the most informative recording I’ve come across on this topic. Well done and thank you
3:56 Larry clearly have had enough with this train crap lol
Khalid AlNajjar :D
I never commented on any video, but this made me write, most detailed, informative, and explained video ever. Good work.
larry your channel is very helpful , i have learned alot KEEP UP
finally someone who knows how to explain the difference and show the difference. great illustration on capturing it on camera . I learned a lot from your video. thanks
is "compoud" the same thing as ""scratch remover", there are so many different products that it gets confusing.
The one I have is a compound + polish, you need to use a wax or a wash + wax after buffing it all off
Finally a great video explaining and showing what steps you need for your car to look good. Awesome job and thanks.
3:47 i was like what the hell is that a t rex !!!
But he answered as if he was listening.
So basically wash, then clay, then compound, then polish. I guess you would wax or seal after that?
That's what I've always been told is the sensible procedure.
Compounding and/or polishing takes off any wax and sealant on the paint, so definitely wax/seal afterwards.
If you need to do all that, your paint is in pretty bad shape or you have a clunker.
FINALLY THE ANSWERE FOR THE QUESTION OF MY LIFE.
Larry you are the best .That's it!
How long did it take you to compound and polish the Honda Fit?
I've been searching for info on detailing as I'm a newb and I found your videos. Really like how you explain things. You don't sound like an infomercial and give real world advice. Keep on making good videos. I'm gonna go beat my head against the wall cause I can't figure out what regiment to use for washing, paint sealing, waxing, glass...Oh and then there's the interior...
So I use the polish first then compound on a microfibre sponge then shine and glaze it with the clay
You forgot to wax it first... wax, polish, compound, clay, leave in sun to bake, then wash at high noon in the sun...
Last and Final step: Sand with 60 grit sandpaper!
Jeremy Barker Been doing it like this since day one!
wow not sure if the op is serious or not.
he's absolutely not mate
More regular car detailing videos like this please! :) I detail cars like this every day and I learn so much from watching you
Lets say the paint is brand new. What do I do to keep it looking that way? Since polishing and compounding is not needed. Do I just wax? Whats the difference between wax and sealing

Pretty much every new car needs some level of paint correction straight out of the dealership lot. No new cars come out with perfect paint.
Patrick94GSR Ok lets put it this way. I just repainted my car. Done the paint correction and all. What about after that? like, maintenance if no correction is needed.

My first impression when I see rock chips on a car's front end, is that the driver is a tailgater.
Lincolnator the fits paint is thin. looking at it chips it. Honda really dropped the ball on the paint.
Xtina K oh, that reminds me... The 2013 Ford Explorer does the same thing in the front end, not cheap to have a shop fix it
My fit is a '12. The hood is being repainted in the spring.
Xtina K cool car though, I like little cars, but I'll take a land yacht any day too
Or they live on gravel
Thanks, that makes perfect sense. The key distinction made between compound and polish just before the half way point was worth listening to this alone. Great video 👌
Last time I was this early UK was in the EU.
Wow, what an original comment! Never seen that one before!
Can you not think of your own comment? It's old already.
are you that famous comedian?
We still are in the EU....
they are in the eu for at least 2 years
youtube has taught me so much about detailing cars. thanks to kind people like you its a shame I cant use any of it in real life... could get a job at a dealership for min wage but they do the opposite of everything you say to do.. its all about speed to them... tried running my own business did well but my truck broke down and I couldn't afford to fix it and I am not able to detail at my place anymore
yeah right I live in bc Canada and it rains all the time here which is what stopped me from being more successful.
my wife's care is about 6 years old and has only been washed. I was going to do clay bar (it needs it) then compound, then use touch up paint for the areas that didn't come out with compound. Polish might take off the touch up paint. Id polish first then touch up and seal it with sealer or wax.
Kenneth Siddall what about the clear coat step
Super video Larry. Thnx for making a clear and concise video. All I need to do now is pluck up the courage to compound and polish on my Alfa 159. And it's black 😱😱😱

Some people like to take good care of their things.
Great upload, thank-you for breaking down the basics, as so many people I've talked to have in some way compromised, what I had previously been informed.
Why... Why polish a turd
One mans trash is another mans treasure.
Even when it's a turd a good wash will bump up the price a fair bit. So if you want to sell a car like this it's a good idea to give it a good wash. Perhaps you don't have one. But I bet someone in your immediate family or circle of friends do.
Because my friend is awesome.
Everyone is entitled to their own car preference. Everyone is allowed to love and care for their car.
I could ask why someone who sounds like a turd is allowed to comment.
Yeap, good friends are hard to come by. I will go the extra mile for mine also.
Great vid Larry! I get the whole terminology thing, so often I'm out waxing or freshening the sealant on my car and people say I'll wear the paint out! Know your products and understand why you need them not just cos you herd about them
thanks a lot!! I got a new car last week and at least I know now it needs to be compounded. I love watching your videos
Best information I’ve gotten so far. You explained it very well thank you
your instructions are clear, concise and relevant, truly enjoy your videos
Have to say. this is the best video Showing before and after...actually showing the Swirls pretty good in the Taped over parts. Ya, not big enough difference with the Polishing after the compounding..so I don't plan on the cost or time of the Polishing step at this time with my cars...since not being in Car shows or judging type stuff. cheers. thanks for your vids. Especially the Compounding ONe you did
Thank you for taking the time to explain the difference between compounding, polishing etc. .great videos!
Larry! I've been using your techniques and products recently and the results are unreal! Thank you!
Hey Larry, I just want to say how much I love your videos!! I wouldn't have had near enough confidence to start my own detailing business if it weren't for you. Keep it up!! Hey, how about a video comparing wax vs. sealant vs. ceramic coating?
Great video Larry. That is a real quick and to the point of instructions you gave. GREAT JOB KEEP IT UP!!!!
Great answer! Thanks I've been confused about all the products so having the order according to abrasiveness and purpose has been really helpful!!
Larry thanks again for clearing up the confusion bro. You are a public service for proper car care.
The clay /ER metaphor really helped me as a beginner . Thanks !
Another excellent video. This one was even shorter, sweeter, and straight to the point.
excellent video as always. I just compounded and polished my boat with a DA , first time ever attempting this. came out very nice. I wish i thought clay baring the boat first , that would have helped me out in hindsight. But to fully do my 23' boat inside the hull and out it took almost 2 full days because of the extensive surface area. your videos definitely helped me out , thanks
dont for get to wax it or it will fade by the end of the summer
good call, thanks
I don't think clay barring the boat would help because it's the gel coat that's oxidized not contaminated with dirt or particles. Keeping it waxed is a must to keep your hard work shining on your boat.
Thank you for the great video. Looks like I'll try this on the family people mover. It's three years old and no wax applied since the day it was bought from the dealer, rain spots everywhere and the acid rain has dulled the thermalite gray shine to a dull gray.
Awesome that makes for a better understanding of when to use these methods. Thanks a bunch
Another very instructive video. Loud & Clear !
I recently bought a lightly used 14 Subaru Forester in dark grey. Between that color and Subaru's soft paint, there are tiny clearcoat scratches all over. Especially around the door handles of course. Two questions;
1. Would compounding basically nuke all of that by default?
2. If I didn't want to compound it yet, what's your go-to solution for these types of scratches? I'm hoping for something I can apply locally that won't stand out like a sore thumb. Maybe with just a full body wax coat after.
Thanks!
I really appreciate your simple video it has to many valuable information as a beginner detailer. 💪🏻
JUST LOVE THE CHANNEL!!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I am really wanting to up my game, thanks for doing basic videos. Thought I was good found I’m only fair, but I learn fast.
Very good video. Very well explained and I can see the haze you were talking about.
Planes, trains, and automobiles. Thank you for the great information. I've learned a lot from your videos.
thank you for your explanation about car detailing. it really help
Sir ,I'm a big fan of you,I learned a lot from your videos.
My question on washing is:-
How often one should wash the car ,I mean a week ,a month ??does frequently washing a car makes some areas rusty in long run in a vehicle?
plz reply I have many mixed answers on that.
Great and clear way to make this point Larry (polish vs compounding).
Keep uploading these great videos!! best regards
Larry needs his own tv show. sucks the audience right in, love watching all of your videos!
Your clip answered a lot questions I had in mind. Thank you!
5 hour video!. You are very Dedicated to this. thanks for sharing it.
Larry never disappoints. Thanks
Man you have answered all my questions! You are the man im looking for a while! Thanks a lot i really appreciate! Now i know what to do with my cars!
Finally a good video for newbies . Thanks mate
okay i have a 04 Toyota Prius the bumpers really need help so i got a buffer , today
i was wondering what the best way to go was , you just raised more questions
then answers , now i am considering claying my bumpers ,
Great video it took me years to learn the difference between the restoration steps
i dont know why , but i love watching your videos.
Very very informative video. Everything makes perfect sense, i now understand the differences. Thanks alot
Thank you for explaining compound and polish I got it now great job
So this is my question?
I just bought two new cars ( Gray and black). I like doing all the work myself because I feel I will do a better job than someone else plus it's cheaper to and a fun project.
I know if I wash the car with dish soap I will be removing the wax coating it came with from the dealership.
I believe these are all the steps that I need to take to get my car to a show finish.
1.wash with dish soap
Wash with car soap Meguiars gold
2 Clay if necessary
This is where I get confused because I've seen people just wax from this point.
Great video Larry people don't get what it means to clay compound or polish this should help.
Cheers Larry, to see the difference is really helpful.
