The new Ranked is basically why I’m still playing. I was losing interest very quickly before but now I’m more excited for the game than ever
Sameee.. I'm still playing for the same reason
That and the My Rank trophy road.
Personally i think it is a really better way before I struggle to get through platuim so it gives me a chance to get better
I don't expect it to stay this good forever. There are just too many shards and tokens in ranked for them to leave the door wide open. Remember, when the mode first got added, the last place racer on the winning team would actually lose points. I don't think it'll ever get that bad again, but I can see them changing it eventually so people get +2 or +4 in non-winning situations to basically make it impossible to brute force a low level racer to Ultimate Champion.
That would be horrible
the change is already made and they can't go back, there are many people who reached UC and would never have done it with the old way... and if they go back it would be a gift for them. besides, this is a game and it doesn't have to be stressful.
Ranked multiplayer uses competitive terminology, but it was always meant to be a casual progression system. Put in the time to move up the ladder, and collect rewards. Upgrade your racers to place higher and progress faster. These changes were designed to make it be exactly what it needed to be for the majority of the players. Matchmaking is based purely on the racer's MPR, and works better when there are more players with racers in all ranks.
Regulated is currently also a very casual mode, but should become the true skill-based competitive mode. If regulated matchmaking was based on player skill, there could be a leaderboard for player skill in regulated. And then Gameloft could offer more limited time, limited entry, regulated events for your 2, 3, and 4 star racers to compete for prestige rewards.
It's awesome now. You actually get rewarded for playing where as you used to be punished.
Just got back into the game after about 6 months and just hit Champion after stopping at Diamond it's so much more fun
Only thing that worries me is now that weaker characters can get to Ultimate Champ if GL will see that and think certain weak characters won't need buffs anymore just because they can get to the highest rank.
I think it just feels easier because the matchmaking algorithm got better. You're not finding yourself in Emerald with a level 20 racer facing level 40 racers where your best hope is to squeeze out a fifth place finish.
It didn't get easier. If anything it got worse. Before if I was racing in silver with a lv 40 it would try to match me against other lvl 40s even if they were in dimond. This seamed fine to me my only complaint was I wish they gave you more points for beating players in a higher rank then you. Now though if I race with a lv 40 in silver it will only match me with other silver players. So now more often then not I'll be racing people half my lv in those ranks. It's boring.
The new ranked system is so much better, only reason I’m still playing
Ever since the free Cosmetics were introduced in S5 on the Ranked Rewards of characters, i always questioned why was not the spoiler on Gold and the Race Suit on Emerald?
And the fact the wing had the Livery Bonus makes it difficult for Designers (like me) to make the perfect Kart for characters.
If they do this switch in Season 9, I will be so happy!
Also what is your opinion on the new Deluxe Karts for Mike and Stitch?
My congratulations for RMP goes 'cause it seems they finally fixed the constant inicial delays and disconnects from it. I have experienced 0 of those nasty issues since this season began.
Now, as far the team mode, I like how friendly it is for players to advance and get those winning poses at 31, which was somewhat of a nightmare for players who didn't empty their wallets to max a racer for an easy play. Other than that I have little to none motivation to climb higher.
I will take that, now I can bring many racers to UC now without losing my hair
Personally the rank multiplayer looks nice, may all players want to increase their racers ranks was so excited
I'm enjoying this Ranked difficulty nerf. First time I've been able to take my racers beyond Platinum (I got at least 5 in Diamond atm)
I love this system. But it simply is not ranked. I want them to add a TRUE regulated ranked system whose rewards are given to us in some kind of currency (it can be tokens, idk) and don't gatekeep progression.
Honestly I think ranked is fine and thanks to mobile version I can't imagine them putting in a hyper competitive mode because that would kill it for mobile players or most of the players
Can say it is too easy the ranked mode settings are. Sometimes you get a racer opponent that is either too low level or that they aren't skilled enough to compete to get those points easily.
Hatartist is one of them and I encountered em with my lvl 40 Anger. C-more he is competitive with his Woody yep. Zetvoy sure I had raced with em a few times as a teammate and opponent. But at times managed to beat him and he beat me cause of skill vs lvl at times. Even when he got me at the beginning with his flame explosion and I can keep up with him but tends to slow me down too.
So yeah a mode that can show your true skill can show how truly competitive you can be. Like the current event we are doing if ya get that memo
I do like the changes with Ranked Multiplayer, but with that... we do really need what I would call _Competitve Multiplayer_ , and I think the best sort of method to have it is really replicated Fortnite's Ranking System for Disney Speedstorm. So here is how I think it will work.
Competitive Multiplayer behaves similar to Ranked Multiplayer but instead of points based, it is percentage based determined by your placement and the Ranks of the opponents that you have beaten. Each League is segment with 5 Ranks as before with the exception of Rookie. Once you get to 100% of the current Rank, you go up 1 Rank. Once you get 5 Ranks of the Current League, you go up to the next League. Matchmaking is set to be paired with opponents of similar Rank and their Racer's Level for players below Champion League. Players in Champion League and above will only be matchmaked with opponents of that League and above.
Once you've reached Champion League, you're all good for the Season. Yes, unlike Ranked and Regulated, Competitive Multiplayer gets resetted each Season. Back to Rookie you all folks, even in Champion and above. Gotta get competitve you know. An extra benefit for Champion League is that you WILL NOT drop below that League for the remainder of that Season. Those that are in Diamond League and below CAN drop below Leagues.
Competitive Multiplayer has different Leaderboards.
- *League Leaderboard* shows you All Players and their League with their percentage progress. So you can see like Diamond 5 (53%) or Gold 2 (22%) etc. There is options to toggle All Players or Players near your League.
- *Victory Leaderboard* shows you All Players and their Victories. Gotta see who is racking up the most wins! There is options to toggle All Players or Players near your Count.
- And of course we would need to know Race Time, so there is a *Race Time Leaderboard* which cumulates the total amount of time actually racing combining all of those lap times! There is options to toggle All Players or Players near your total Race Time.
And finally, we gotta reward you folks for staying competitive.
- Reaching each League from Bronze to Diamond will reward you with *5 Racer Shards* for the Racer of your Choice and *50 Tokens* to spend your premium currency on. Champion, Grand Champion and Ultimate Champion when reached will grant you *250 Tokens* each, nope - no Racer Shards for you folks. Champions don't need upgrades! If you went down to a previously achieved League during the Season, you won't get the reward again the next time you go back up to that League you just went down from.
- Every 10 Victories will reward you with a *Racer/Crew Capsule* of one of the *3 Rarities* which will give you 3 Racer or Crew Shards of that rarity.
- Every 1 Hour of Race Time will reward you with a *Currency Capsule* that will get you either *Season Coins* or *Upgrade Coins* or *Vanity Coins* or *Tokens* . The amounts are as you expect with Ranked Multiplayer based off your League.

You got 63 racers ,it shouldn't be a chore to rank up each one ,ranked was never regulated since you can p2w .So not having a brain-dead point system is a welcome addition

I really got my intest back in the game after the mobile release as i dont always want to go upstairs to play my ps4 or whip out my laptop with mobile i can always play
I think mario kart wii point system should work fine. Simple and effective.
I rather let it be carefree enjoyable with small punishment or delay rewards if having a bad race or racing 30+ levels racers vs stress enrage.
Give us more players in team mode, like 4 teams of 3 I would love a crazy ass carnage lobby where 12 players are just going at each other it would be a blast

I’m fine with that. It shouldn’t need to be severely impossible to get passed MPR 21. Only way getting some character shards is by buying them and thus it was a Paid to Win mechanic. Wasn’t fun! Heck I don’t even think you get enough in this OR tournaments. 7 tokens? Ain’t nothing. Same with Tournaments. I bought Toy Story and LILO & Stitch. They absolutely don’t give you the same amount of rewards you would as an actual season. I love this game but I do not enjoy the monetization factor.
How the new system is totally better I have question how many shards or upgrades coins do you need to take one from 4stars to 5stars is my question because with the team mode it’s actually kinda of fun now meaning multiplayer cause before its was not fun at all
