this came out at the perfect time. I don't know about Walmarts in other areas, but the one in mine just put some of their Pioneer fabrics yardage and quarter yard bundles on clearance. i bought up as much as i could at the time even though i didn't know what i would do with it yet, lol.
I have been binge watching (or rewatching) your videos and this one is quite old. But it occurred to me that this is a great way to use orphan blocks. Thank you for the work you do to inspire an older, very experienced quilter.
I love your “Jumbo Block” style, but this was so fun to see you working out of your comfort zone. I also found it to be very INSPIRING…. A great reminder to all of us quilters that it’s ok to step out of our comfort zone every now and again. ❤
Right about 7:48, you not only caught Maxine's attention and approval of your design, LOL!! Either that or she just likes seeing you joyously work at your design wall!
It was like that when I purchased it It’s called a sew steady grid glide It is amazing Look in the description on this video for the link if you need ot
You forgot to put all the measurements on the block in the discription down below. The reason is I would like to make the quilt at some point. Thank you. Love all the quilts that you make and they all turn out beautiful.
Hi April, Good job! I think I’d like to get one of those Cutting fabric gadgets someday soon. I just started a Jacobs ladder quilt! 😳 I made one years ago and swore I’d never make another one! But here I am with ALLLLLL those little squares AGAIN! Jeez! Have a great week and God Bless ❤️
April I like your finished quilt. How very clever of you. How do you think of these cool projects to sew. Your ideas are great. Have you ever made a baby quilt, or blanket, with different textures of fabrics? Velvet, flannel, cotton, or maybe furry fabrics. I bet a baby would love the feeling on their fingers, of silky fabrics. Maxine is sweet. She's a diva isn't she ? I love her colors. I never heard dark chocolate has lead in it. Wow 😲. Guess I am sticking with milk chocolate kisses. Mmmm. Thank you so much for the video. I get the Pioneer Woman magazine, she is so creative. Love her family too.
I LOVE ❤ the way you improvised! Those other color blocks just didn’t work. I like it that you kept with the blues. I have to tell you, lots of times I watch your videos twice because I watch the kitty and don’t pay attention to the quilt first time through. I love your quilts, don’t get me wrong. I just find cats (&dogs) irresistible! Have a blessed week! I LOVE dark chocolate, there’s one by Ghirardelli that’s about 90% cacao, it’s almost bitter, but sooooo good.
Love Pioneer Woman fabric. I thought you did a great job with the 2nd layout, I did kinda like the 1st one as well. My all time favorite chocolate is the Kit Kat Duo Dark Chocolate Strawberry.
Nice to see you again. I love 12 1/2” blocks. They make putting a quilt together much faster. However, star blocks, flying geese and square in a square blocks must be the January unit choices of the month. Every group I am in has those in the quilts! Just got through making 72 square in a square; burned out on those now. Think of you every time I see Pioneer Woman fabric at Walmart. Looks like Maxine wanted to give her opinion on your quilt? 😂
April I absolutely love your quilts! Nice job. We are in the process of packing for a move out of state & once we get to our new home i plan on trying to make a quilt. Thanks for all your teachings! Love ❤️ it!
Love your quilt idea w stars. Being so visual myself, I relate to the making of all the different blocks, because one is fun, 30 blocks is work, and the frustration of putting them in one quilt that is cohesive, because they are all different. Might be why you stick to large Pieced blocks. I like that you chose to take a few blocks and add solid colored fabric, great option to showcase the pretty stars.
I really like how you use the acu-quilter, I always thought if I bought it I would not use it! What blocks do you recommend to buy to start with. Do you have the roller or the electric one. Pretty quilt, I still can't find the pioneer woman fabric at my walmart!
Hi Debbie .. I would buy the 2 1/2 strips and the 4 inch or 5 inch square to begin with .. those are the ones I tend to cut the most of Hope this helps
I just finished my 3rd “quilt” using pioneer woman fabrics and her throws as backing. They are so cozy All of my 3 DILs, my daughter, and I love Pioneer Woman ❤ 2 more quilts to go 😊
I'm looking for your video that you did quite a while ago with Pioneer Woman placemats and they were wine bottle holders I can't find your video anywhere can you help me out
@@aprilscraftroom thanks April. I got 3 bundle of this pioneer woman fat quarters from 2 of my sisters for Xmas. Now I know exactly what I will be making. Great tutorial. We dont have pioneer woman fabrics here in our walmart in Québec
It is almost impossible to get checks even. I LOVE gingham and use it often as an accent. Believe it or not, the unevenness does not show when placed in quilt w other prints. April continue to stretch us w your ideas. That is how we learn.
I can’t wait to see what you do with the rest of your blocks. The blocks are too pretty not to be used maybe a quilt similar to the Pretty Simple quilt from Fabric Cafe.
I like the coordinating colors in the second one but I agree those red and white checks weren’t straight and they messed with my eyes. That is my bad. I do think I will use the rest of the blocks all together. Di of Sister Chicks Quilting told me just rearrange them until I like they way they look. Thank you for sharing your opinion. 😀 April

Beautiful blocks and fabric.

Glad you like them!

I took your advice. I got me a dark chocolate milky way 😊

I liked hem both! You go girlfriend! I can’t wait to see what you create with the left over blocks.
Thank you!!!!
That pioneer woman fabrics are good quality for the price. I made a 3 yard quilt with those fabrics and I love it.
That is awesome!
Beautiful blocks April. I love ❤️ dark chocolate nothing wrong with dark chocolate. Have a bless day.
Thank you so much Paula ... Hope you have a blessed day too!
Right about 7:48, you not only caught Maxine's attention and approval of your design, LOL!! Either that or she just likes seeing you joyously work at your design wall!

I love how you thought out of the box and finished it. I 💕 ❤it
Thank you so much!
Thank you for watching my channel. ❤️
A very versatile block 🤗
Thank you so much!
So cute! I’d reconfigure and use all half-square triangles because I loathe making flying geese. 😂
Me too!!! But the more I do them the better I’m getting -- but they are my least favorite
Have you ever done a Tour of your sewing rooms? Is this a basement that you’re working? You are blessed to have such a large area!!
Yes and yes
I love pioneer woman fabrics and her cookware. Your fabrics look similar to hers.
Me too!!!
Looking forward to seeing what this new year will bring. Love this block.
Thank you
I love star blocks!
ME too!
I am intrigued by the mat you have surrounding your presser foot. Did you do the cutout yourself, or purchase it like that? Just what I need.
I saw a link in the description box, Sew Steady Grid Glider.

Thank you for your response Beverly
I love all of the blocks, but I really love how you put your top together.
Thank you so much!
Love the individual blocks. The teal is really pretty. Like your finished quilt top! Your creativity is awesome!!!
Thank you
Would you consider being part of a quilt retreat? Nancy Ky is home to Retreat to Complete on Lake Cumberland. Do you know of this venue?
I had never thought about it
But I hear that venue is awesome I have a friend that’s been there and she loved it

If you’re talking about the Accuquilt I bought one on Facebook marketplace for $90 and it came with a 2 1/2 strip die! It’s a crank one but I love it
I love mine too
look at craft sites ... sometimes people mark them down ... YARD SALE

Sounds great!
Would it not be easier if you don't have an acuquilt to make 4 at a time flying geese? Nice to see you outside your comfort zone!!
Probably so. I will have to look that up. Thank you for the suggestion.
April
Could you yse a larger Accuquilt cube to enlarge your squares to the size you want them to be?
Yes
You inspired me.
I'm pulling my Accuquilt!
Did you try putting white sashing strips between your star blocks? Your Star blocks are beautiful.
that is an excellent tip / idea... thank you

Have quilt blocks on the shelf that are too much print…… until I add plenty of solid colors.
love that ...

Bring on the chocolate! And some quilts blocks also.
Yes!!! Lol
Well done! I didn’t like the combo of all the fabrics either. Good job on getting out of your comfort zone!!! It’s hard !!

I just finished my 3rd “quilt” using pioneer woman fabrics and her throws as backing. They are so cozy All of my 3 DILs, my daughter, and I love Pioneer Woman ❤ 2 more quilts to go 😊
Wonderful!
I have the "GO". And never use it. Not because I don't like. It's intimidating to me. Would love some "Go for Dummies tutorials ". Because that's me.
I have a Go! I can put this on my to do list
Thanks for the suggestion
I also made a Pioneer Woman quilt but mine was a wall hanging.. and I thought I could share but I guess not. :D
You can send it to me on my email if you want

My pleasure
I like how some parts of the stars disappear against some fabrics creating an interesting pattern.

Love watching you! I am a flannel person can I make this quilt or any quilt with flannel? Thank you!
Yes you can!
I can’t find dies for my “go” cutter .

love this 😀❤
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Please put the old fashioned cutting instructions in your description. I’m accuquilt challenged.
Press after attaching each piece.
An iron is your friend
Lol
I much more liked all the blocks together. I don’t care for the large pieces of fabric……unless you are using this as a backing..😊
Kathy .. I get it .. thanks for watching
Looks like stars and stripes...big enough for QOV ? Would be nice for a female in the military
Absolutely!!!
Adorable! Do you live in New Orleans or just the recent vacation spot?
I live in KY ... was there on vacation
Cute blocks but those checks would aggravate my OCD. 😂 I have the Accuquilt but I never use it. Maybe it’s time.
