Buddin is Budden. It’s called alternate spelling, to avoid direct links to govt misdeeds. Research could uncover if the Budden/Buddin family is due for reparations. Plenty of land was taken from black families who wouldn’t sell their land to the govt but had it taken after the govt deemed the land condemned because it was "unfit for living".
