Once every 2 years the S.A.a. fly into Ashburton for a 3 day get together , Fly round. Come out an try the ATR 72-500 Simulator $ 40.00 Half hour & $ 75.00 Hour. Best days Saturday, Wednesday 9.30am - 3.00 pm.

Is there some preservation work being done to the Kittyhawk hangar?

The situation with the Kittyhawk Hanger is before the Historic places Trust. Its the last one from WW11 at Ashburton . Part of the A.A.M. are interested in getting it rebuilt ( its location outside of our boundary is a problem.) If its moved it loses its chance for Funding . A Polythechnic in Chch is interested in the work as a project . Yes we need more hanger space and we are 4 years off 50th Anniversary of the Museum. And possibly a N.Z. Kittyhawk project if it goes ahead may be tied together. NEW community on the Annual Meeting of members on the 6th of may , will hopefully point us in the right direction.
