There's nothing like this thing. I got the TX-6 to replace my mixer and interface. It works so well in my little studio. I bring it to jams and we all hook into it while I record it all to a USB stick. It has seriously re-ignited my love for making and listening to music. I'm just waiting for the CM-15 so I can get out and record.
Been using this little guy since it first came out too, it’s the best combination of mixer / audio interface / midi controller I’ve ever used personally. I don’t feel like the price is very high considering the vast amount of things it can do.
Exactly! I appreciate your comment. Once people invest in a product like this and start to use it daily, you realize there is nothing out there that can beat its functionality, form factor, foot print and fidelity! Thanks for chiming in 👌🏼
I’ve been dawless jamming for a few years and this has been the product I’ve asked for the entire time: 1. Small form factor. I use a lot of small stereo modules that I can sync together and finding something equally small mixer with multiple stereo inputs has been difficult 2. Rechargeable battery powered. I don’t need to use up an outlet, have another cable in my way, or waste/fumble around looking for batteries 3. Internal fx. Good enough and and decent amount of the basics…plus they can be clock synced with the input signal (so dope!!) and have a send/return with a pedal 4. Class compliant!! Seamlessly plug n play with so many devices 5. Durable AF!! Great firmware updates so far…I could really keep going but I’m just going to cut it there
When you record audio through it, how well does it translate? I recently got the CM-15 and love it and wonder how well they pair together going into a daw.
Connected my TX-6 to my iPad Pro 2018 yesterday to use with GarageBand for iOS. Awesome. My Apogee Jam is going into the trash.... it is only generating white noise right now anyways.
It's so much more money than I could shell out for ANYTHING this year, but I genuinely understand the price, because I don't think anyone has ever before managed to cram so much and such high quality audio technology into such a small form factor before. Right now I'm just hoping that this thing depreciates like an NFT so I can get one used 😜
Honestly these prices are starting to become normal for some companies. It’s like buying a windows vs buying and apple computer. It’s the average vs the luxurious brands. Not saying these devices are bad. Just saying that there are some companies that may want to be known as a luxurious brand.
@@HennyThaBizness I agree. I’m at the point where I’m working hard to increase my income in music because I want to own these high end brands. We can all start with what we have. In my case I’ve been working with what I got with the mindset of eventually owning these prestigious brands.
pretty smart to use the op1 field as essentially a digital preamp for the tula -- i was hoping the tula would work with the tx 6 over usb c, but sadly it does not... but this way, you can get get the noise cancellation before sending to the tx 6. i figure the new te mics will eventually integrate noise cancellation and more fx in software updates.
What does this do better than a 1010 Bluebox that's half the price of this? I like their design but TE seems to really appeal to people that care about form over function. Or in other words more money than sense.
very cool. Thank you for your demonstration and enthusiasm. A couple of questions does it have any type of built-in microphone and can you record out of the USB-C directly into an iPhone as audio?
Great review, man. I just wanted to chime in on the price. I agree that this unit is pricey, but it offers 12 input channels. So this is priced a little under us$100 per channel, which is pretty much the going rate for “just decent” digital audio interfaces. Am I missing something?
For singer songwriter if you connect the Tula mic to the tx6 then into your iPad would you need a pre amp to make it louder or is it good, also just the Tula mic to your iPad would you need pre amp?
Honestly that should work from the start. They are supposed to work together as an ecosystem, but you can't record the 4 tracks from the OP-1Field is a let down for sure!
I got a TX-6 about a year ago. It’s ok, I was very impressed and excited to use it given all it dose. But I have to be honest. I still have a bit of buyers remorse due to the $1200 price. I feel a Tascam Model 12 could work the same way with it’s usb I/O capabilities and built in effects and it’s currently only $699. But it’s not battery operated and as portable as the TX-6. It is what it is. Just my ¢2. 🤷🏻♂️
I hear you. I have a ton of audio interfaces but none this capable, this compact and well designed as this. That’s what I know I’m paying for. Now yes, you could definitely use a TASCAM Model 12 but that defeats the purpose of being ultra portable.
Was wondering what sort of cabling you are using for the tx6? some of your guys look far away in the studio recording environment didn't know if you just had really long 3.5mm to 1/4" cables. Been using ipad synths more and more and want a way to integrate some hardware stuff/mic into my ipad setup without being too cumbersome. Also curious how you or the players are monitoring? if its just monitors in the room
How do you think this thing would do with a live acoustic band? Would have a total of 9 wireless mics; 2 violins, 2 trumpets, an acoustic bass and a guitar. Plus plus 3 voice mics. Thanks! Keep up the good work.
Sounds like you might want to look into a bigger mixer. Even though this mixer has 12 mono inputs, they are grouped into stereo pairs so if you need more control over separated channels, this wouldn’t work very well. Thanks for watching. Hope that helped
I probably would love this thing if I had it, but I am just a hobbyist. I have been looking for a compact mobile mixer in this kind of layout for years. I would be happy with just a USB interface if somebody made one anywhere close to this size.
I hear you. The closest interface I’ve seen without too many I/O’s is the Apogee Jam+ / Apogee Groove or the Shure MVI. Depending on your budget you can find a few out there.
