I was 79 when I bought my first camper van, that was three years ago. Past winter 2023-2024 I traveled from Pennsylvania to Arizona 🚐, previous two years I wintered in Florida. This November I will be five years cancer free. Be happy, stay young.
@jeabroeder5534 Praise the Lord for surviving cancer. Also thanks for sharing about purchasing your camper. My wife and I are about to purchase our first camper as well. I'm 71 and she is 69. Even though we are senior citizens we are both in good health. Safe travels to you.
Great life story! I’m 71 and have had type 1 diabetes for 46 years. Me and my wife started camping six years ago. It’s about getting closer to God’s creation. What a witness you are!
My and my husband’s story is almost the same. I just turned 70, he’s 72. We knew absolutely nothing as well. We’ve adapted very well and are now retired.
What a inspiring couple! I am 71 and drive a small class c. I solo with 2 dogs. I am in awe of you all that can do the hitching and towing. Safe travels to all!❤
The first forty seconds of this video had me crackin' up. I knew the rest of the video would be great. It is!! So inspiring and there is no age limit. We are tent campers but have just looked into a pop-up (Aliner). We're ready to upgrade to that type of camper. We are 69 and 68 years old and excited. Now if I can just get my husband to retire. He is one of those who is doing the countdown to retire thing. So glad for y'all!!
Mark & Mary! What an inspiring story. My wife & I are the same ages and bought out first camper at age 62. We’ve had 3 different ones and are considering our 4th. Yes, life is short and couldn’t agree with you more! We have 3 grown daughters and someone told me once: If you don’t enjoy spending your retirement money, your son in laws will went you’re gone! 😂
I bought my first camper at age 70. 2017, Mine is a Little Guy T@G. I love it. Widowed and travel alone. I've never looked back. My health is good. So many of my younger friends are sitting home and not doing well. I am in so much better health than they are. Just do it!
"Any excuse will do, and if you use it, it'll work". Wonderful interview with this young at heart couple that responded to the hints that they took notice of. Many of us in this age group (actually these two are youngsters) had a wonderful book to help us when learning to read: "I Think I Can". When I was 10 and trying to relearn how to use my left arm (had been amputated but re-attached) I was told, "Can't never did anything, now let's try again" by the key therapist when I'd break down during a session. Hell, they didn't know if I'd ever be able to use the arm but they'd never had a patient with such an injury and reattachment attempt to not finally lose the amputated portion. I was fortunate to have surgical team that took several risks. Long, long effort but I did regain much use of the limb. Don't ever give up.
I Agree with Mary about the Retirement money. I tell my 2 boys. Don’t plain on any retirement money from me (401K) that’s my money and your mom and I are going to spend it all. You are adults and you are on your own
My wife and I bought our first camper (2022 Airstream FC25) almost 3 years ago…I was 71 (now 74) and my wife was 69. The only truck I could find was a 2022 F-350 dually. I am not mechanically inclined so fortunately the Airstream has been fantastic. I am still recovering from the reconstruction of a failed hip replacement, but before that I was an avid cyclist (thousands of miles each year). Camping has filled the void of no significant cycling. We have gone out west twice including the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta twice, Canada, and next month Ohio, Gettysburg, and Maine. We’ve had a few significant health issues, but that hasn’t stopped us. In fact we just added a small Cavapoo puppy to our camper family. Loved this video…keep on camping! 10:08
My Ma was in her 70s traveling back and forth from AZ to MN. By herself. With just $500 for gas. In her old motorhome. Every 6 months. So it can be done with very lil money. You just have to do it.
This is such an inspirational story I’m 67 and I’m planning on hitting the road and I’m full of energy. Very blessed with health. Sorry to hear about his cancer but he’s gonna make it. He’s gonna live a full life. Keep up the good work guys.
My "Greatest Generation" parents got a trailer that they called "the 5th wheel" & travelled around for some years. My Dad was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease & retired at 62 after a long successful career. Back then you were able to work in a company for many years & could retire vested with some additional health insurance & even some pension, which did help. They toured around US visiting family. My Dad did all the driving of the trailer pulled by a pickup truck. My parents passed away several years ago. -- Odd to think that now, as a Boomer generation, that I'm older than they were back then. Now is RUclips & seeing people that look "old", but heck... I guess now I'm old too. HA! Good that you are enjoying your life while you can.
You are a beautiful couple! You’re exactly right about the RV size. We’re very comfortable living full time in our 27’ RV. Owned a Class A motor home & didn’t enjoy it half as much. Safe camping travels.
That was a very powerful message that couple offered. I love that they are living their best life ever together and doing it camping. God bless you both!
We are in our late 60's and will be buying our first RV...just bought a truck and now we need to decide on a camper. I just love this couples attitude! Great interview!
Look at northwoods rvs.. superior quality across their brands, sint be a victim of inferior brands, 10 years in my northwoods and I'm still happy with my purchase
Our truck is Fred and our trailer is Ginger! I'm 77 and my hubby/boy toy is 68. Eight years ago he wanted to camp so he built Pea Pod, our teardrop. I got tired of not having a handy toilet so during Covid we bought a 22 foot, 20 year old trailer with a totally rotted floor (also drove to Madison to purchases, lol). Over the following year we tore it apart and put it back together. We're now into our 8th year of May through October long weekends.
Thank you so much for sharing your story! It’s wonderful to hear about adventurous "not too old" couples embracing adventure and making memories together. Wishing you many more years of fun camping trips!
I’m watching this and thinking good for them. Then it hit me that I was 64 when we bought our first camper! It also was a teardrop - a NuCamp T@G. And we didn’t have a tow vehicle either. Had to get a hitch put on pretty fast. And we haven’t looked back either!
Mary, I absolutely agree with your thinking. My husband was diagnosed with Parkinson's 33 years ago and I got diagnosed with MS two years later. Like you, we quit working, taking a hit financially but didn't care. We adjusted. Then, your opinion about living your life to the fullest, AMEN. Leaving money for the kids, slight difference of opinion on this one...let them make their own money like we had to😃 God Bless you both and hopefully, God will let you go on because you are living your lives, to the fullest. ❤🙏 Heather 🇨🇦
I admire Mary so much. She is so spirited in all your videos she has been in. God bless both Mark and Mary. Thanks Randi for the inspirational video. 🥰
I love this couple!! Thank you for inspiring us to live life to the fullest despite getting older!! We are already getting a camper, but ebikes will be next!!
Wow I just turned 60. I am recovering from 3 surgeries this past year 1 1/2. Life is short. I live in FL. and still need to work for a few more years for money and to get things ready. Can't wait. FL state parks to start.
Mark and Mary's story is eerily like our story. Even the South Dakota part. We have a 17 ft. camper which all we need and want. It's easy to tow and we can get into a lot of places the bigger campers can't. It's one of the best things we've done.
Love them! We are very similar. My husband and I retired the end of January 2023 and have not looked back. We bought a Nucamp T@B 400, very similar to the Little Guy Max. We love it and love traveling. Hope to meet Mary and Mark along the road!
Whew! Thank you for sharing this! Inspiring! I'm 63, my wife 64, I bought a bus to convert to an RV myself in 2016, in 2018 she had liver failure, so seemed like life was on HOLD. Praise God, no transplant, but now her numbers have improved. Now trying to get her to get going on getting out, someday I may finish the bus project, but I still go out for little adventures, not waiting till done. God bless, thank you for sharing this, encourage others to embark on getting out. AL from CT
thank you for sharing this with us,in my prayers,at 63 was told didn't have long live life to the fullest 5yrs ltr still loving life God & family, friends,&laughter,God Bless!!
My husband & I are in our mid 70’s we have a 40foot 5th wheel, we love it we travel 5 months out of the year. Winters at home are beautiful summer are hell we leave town.
Talk about a God wink!! My mom passed tragically, and I've been unmoored, debating getting an rv. I kept skipping this video when recommended because I'm thinking of a Class C, but this morning it played automatically. The ending brought me to tears. It was my moms favorite quote!!! Talk about a sign. Thank you for sharing this and what an adorable couple. I'm so very grateful.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I had not heard of God winks before Mark and Mary shared their story… but I am a believer! I'm glad you watched this video.
We bought our first camper at 71, a new motorhome from Hawaii. Sold everything and hit the mainland roads full time. If you can make it thru the first week without damage you will be ok.
You will have a blast I have owned quite a few campers new from the dealer, but my past 10 campers I have built myself because I have more time to build than I do to camp and both are relaxing to me.
Very inspiring couple. Thank you !! I have stage 4 cancer going through chemo then surgery. We bought a small camper right before i got diagnosed don’t know why I bought it I was never much into camping or RVing. Now I know it was a “God Wink “. Thank you 🥰🙏 🕊️ 💕
I am 62 and my wife is 63 and Im her toy boy too. LOL. I am on the heart transplant list and have been for almost 3 years. We have decided to buy our fifth wheel and truck and start colllecting memories instead of stuff. We are selling our house now and getting ready.
First watching your video, and not even halfway thru and I’m inspired by you guys. I’ll be 59 soon and I was in despair thinking that I’ll never do that nomadic lifestyle but hearing at what age you started made me realize I still got time. I bought a sylvan sport go trailer after my heart surgery and no hitch vehicle and was thinking selling it. The trailer (brand new) just sitting on the driveway. Im going to keep your talk in my heart and mind and keep hope. Thank you!
I wonder how many stories like this are out there? My wife and I have a very similar situation. One of the best decisions we ever made! Great video people Godspeed to you all.
I'm a woman that is 77 years young and I am toying with the idea of hitting the road myself. How is it really out there? When my parents retired one of the first things they did let's get a fifth wheel and a pickup truck. I remember their fun times.
Never too old to go rving! I brought my ALINER a few yrs ago and just traded it in for a 2024 coleman lantern lt 17b ENJOY and love every moment of it stay blessed!
You are truly inspirational; I am asking myself why I am hesitating to buy an RV when it's what I really want to do. I have never done this before but then neither had you and you managed and therefore so can I. Thank you so much for sharing your story and I wish you many more happy adventures.
You are so right, enjoy your life to the fullest, we only go this way one time. You don't wanna be in a situation where you're saying I would've should've could've LOL. I am 75 years old I work for 55 years, i bought a big fifth wheel a.k.a. Boheme .My wife died in 2013 one of the last thing she said was to enjoy your life because you only get one. I am not saving any money for the kids, but what I am doing is giving them my house, which they can sell or divide and do whatever they want with it. You guys keep doing what you're doing and enjoy your life and may God continue to bless you. PS Boheme fifth wheels are not that hard to back up. You just have to practice a lot and I've got nothing but time LOL.
What a great video! This is what I've been preaching to my wife for a while now! We can't take it with us when we go so let's get out here and enjoy ourselves! My mom made me promise before she died to not sit in that easy chair and waste my retirement years! I'm trying my best not to! Keep us posted on these two, I loved the interview!
I wish this lady could talk to my wife. I don't have cancer, however I have had 12 spine surgeries and I have rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, myself and my wife are both retired I am 66 and she is 63.we have had travel trailers in the past but sold our last one in 2013 due to my health. In 2022 I was doing better so we bought a new ford pickup truck and a new grand design transcend xplor 221rb and we were going to travel. Since then I have had some setbacks and now my wife is scared to go but I feel so much better when we are camping rather then just sitting watching the TV. We've only used it 3 weekends this year and it will soon be winterized and go into storage. How do I get her to go again? I know I will have bad days and pain days but I also have alot of wasted good days, I tell her we can just lay low in the campground on bad days.
Hi! Thanks for sharing your story. Did your wife watch this video? Hopefully she will get some insight. I admire your desire to not have ‘wasted days’ and hope you have many more good times ahead in your trailer.
I love this! Hope you have many, many years to enjoy your camping traveling. And I also have two boys in their 30’s who would be confused (and concerned) if I sold my little house and full time traveled. I do it a few weeks a year in my minivan and those are my most relaxing days.
My wife and I are in our late 60's and 70's. We bought our first Travel Trailer about 7 years ago and have enjoyed it. However as I write this, we are selling it and have a buyer. We took a trip from the Midwest this past June and went to the Pacific Northwest. I have to honestly say that this trip broke us down mentally, physically and put a nice dent in our bank account. We have a 28 foot TT. First, the gas alone round trip cost us around $1600. Then campsites cost us another $700. And believe me, there were days we only paid $10 a night to camp. Other times we weren't so lucky. We would spend at least $50 per night to camp. But, I realize that nothing is cheap and I prepared for it. Just parking the TT, setting up our water, electric, leveling it, emptying tanks, etc. was a time consuming issue. And then you do the reverse when you leave. Yes, we camped in a couple of campgrounds that we were happy we had a travel trailer. Otherwise, it wouldn't have been fun camping in a tent. But, I have to honestly say that owning one of these TT's is a money suck. If we had to do it over again, we would have bought a camper van. A lot easier to park, you can go the speed limit on interstates. Our kids flew out to the Pacific Northwest to meet us. They rented a car and a nice VRBO. They were only 4 miles down the road from us. Us on the other hand, camped in a nice forest, but had no electric or internet, and I had to haul water to our camper. I look at them and they had no stress flying and staying in a VRBO. From now on, that's what we're doing. It was fun but it burned us out.
that is awesome. I need to get rid of our 20 yr old trailer (too many issues now). on the fence about another unit... want to go small, but have some issues with our need for a walk around queen bed (not so nimble anymore!). More thinking to do! Love the positivity!
Me and my wife just bought our first RV this year. She has cancer and we may not be able to retire together. I am 63 she is 65 . 42 foot deisel pusher with a tag axle. So many things just in our back yard in Michigan. So it us , a German shepherd and a bunny on the road . We both have worked hard all our lives . I am a trucker and my wife was a computer feild service tech. But now keep asking ourselves why we didn't do this sooner . Safe traveling every one.
We baught a pop up camper when are kids were home we traded for a small used Rv that doubled as a hunting cabin. We traded up to a larger pull behind which we used for several years we purchased a couples camper 5th wheel which we now take the grandkids camping we have purchased from a small dealer that hsd taken good care of us as the grand kids get bigger we will probsbly trade for a toy hauler.
I live in a RV Park in South Florida half for 20 years I see your big RVs come in here every season and every season the RV fixer is that their place at least once during season what I'm telling you is the Arby's breakdown and they're very expensive to fix and they always break down I would not spend the money on an RV get a regular pull-behind trailer or a fifth wheel
My husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Lots of friends told us to travel. Thank god we didn’t follow that advice. As the year went on my husband spent most of his days getting chemo, blood and tests other things. No way we could have been on the road
Never buy for the MSRVP. Negotiate. First time buyers mistake and eager beavers overpay. Understand circumstances were dire here, but if you have limited funds, don't be in a hurry.

I feel closer to God when I’m out in nature and see how incredibly beautiful He made it for us to enjoy!
Amen!!!
Thanks..
I really really needed to read this ❤
That is the biggest reason my wife and I love traveling. We want to see more of the wonderful country God has created for us all.
If this couple started their own channel, I would watch !
Me too!
He doesn’t get much time to talk. She’s so passionate about it. Cute couple
My and my husband’s story is almost the same. I just turned 70, he’s 72. We knew absolutely nothing as well. We’ve adapted very well and are now retired.

Wow. 71. That’s old! I’m 75. Seriously, hitching and unhitching a travel trailer isn’t physically taxing. If is/was to you get some instruction.
@@lawrencewiddis2447 I have only ever towed a jet ski. iI guess it is the towing that is scary. 😱
Wow! I can't think of a better example of living life to the fullest! God bless you both!💗
As someone living with cancer, God bless these two moving forward. I'm 70 and just started a van build. Good video.

I love this couple ❤
Lovely couple and great video Randi. 😊
You will have a blast I have owned quite a few campers new from the dealer, but my past 10 campers I have built myself because I have more time to build than I do to camp and both are relaxing to me.
What a fun hobby!
GO MARK !!!
Very inspiring couple. Thank you !!
I have stage 4 cancer going through chemo then surgery. We bought a small camper right before i got diagnosed don’t know why I bought it I was never much into camping or RVing. Now I know it was a “God Wink “. Thank you 🥰🙏 🕊️ 💕
It was a God wink! 💜 You got this and will enjoy camping in your new camper! 🙏
We bought our first trailer when we were 57, and have upgraded twice, most recently about a week ago when we bought a 2021 Forest River Wildwood.
I am 62 and my wife is 63 and Im her toy boy too. LOL. I am on the heart transplant list and have been for almost 3 years. We have decided to buy our fifth wheel and truck and start colllecting memories instead of stuff. We are selling our house now and getting ready.
It's inspiring to hear how you're prioritizing experiences over possessions! Good for you and wishing you BOTH the best on your new adventure!
Thank you!
You can do it!
I wonder how many stories like this are out there?
My wife and I have a very similar situation.
One of the best decisions we ever made!
Great video people Godspeed to you all.
I bet there are many! Glad to hear you took the plunge!
Love it.
YES! ❤
Such a cute couple!
I'm a woman that is 77 years young and I am toying with the idea of hitting the road myself. How is it really out there? When my parents retired one of the first things they did let's get a fifth wheel and a pickup truck. I remember their fun times.
You can do it!
Never too old to go rving! I brought my ALINER a few yrs ago and just traded it in for a 2024 coleman lantern lt 17b ENJOY and love every moment of it stay blessed!
Never too old!
You guys are AWESOME 🤩!!
Hope you have many years of fun and love together 🥳💜!!
I couldn’t have said it better!
You are truly inspirational; I am asking myself why I am hesitating to buy an RV when it's what I really want to do. I have never done this before but then neither had you and you managed and therefore so can I. Thank you so much for sharing your story and I wish you many more happy adventures.
You can do it!!!
What a testimony!!! 👏 👏 👏
Thank you for sharing your life experience! It’s so important to cherish every moment and enjoy the journey. Your perspective is truly inspiring!
Your mom was a smart woman. I think what she told you was great wisdom.
Awesome!!!
🎉🎉🎉god bless...you both are amazing
What a great experience. But Mark rambles on too much, drove me batty 😏
Happy travelling!!!
“Whether you think you can or think you can't, you're right” is a famous quote by Henry Ford
Winners think they can. Losers think they can’t.
Rock on!
Rock on!
74 and am on my way across the USA.
You are an inspiration! Enjoy your trip!
I love this! Hope you have many, many years to enjoy your camping traveling. And I also have two boys in their 30’s who would be confused (and concerned) if I sold my little house and full time traveled. I do it a few weeks a year in my minivan and those are my most relaxing days.
And I am 68 and single. So yes, we can do this.
Thanks for sharing your story. There are VRBO and AirBNBs everywhere to make your next chapter just as adventurous!
Great story
that is awesome. I need to get rid of our 20 yr old trailer (too many issues now). on the fence about another unit... want to go small, but have some issues with our need for a walk around queen bed (not so nimble anymore!). More thinking to do! Love the positivity!
I think you’ll love camping in a small camper!
Best advice! We are heading out for about 6 month and in same age group.
Mary is the talker. Lol.
She is a domineering narcissist Bch!!
Does she ever let him talk lololoo
She is a narcissist!! A mean woman.Cant imaging what a bch she is behind closed doors to him.
Loved the video! ❤️
Only thing is…I was hoping to be able to get a tour of their camper. 😢.
Maybe one day they will give us a tour of their Little Guy Max!
Yall need come ride the Pinebelt Trails from Collins Ms to Hattiesburg Ms bout 40 miles on referbed rail road
Does this couple have a UTube channel? They are great!
Nope. But they should!!!
The key take away is that you're doing it now. Enjoy yourselves and the travels and don't look back.
Lucky woman. Cancer took my mr wonderful in the first round.
I’m sorry to hear about your loss.
Nothing better than camping and spending time with the Grandkids!
78 and 82
I live in a RV Park in South Florida half for 20 years I see your big RVs come in here every season and every season the RV fixer is that their place at least once during season what I'm telling you is the Arby's breakdown and they're very expensive to fix and they always break down I would not spend the money on an RV get a regular pull-behind trailer or a fifth wheel
My husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Lots of friends told us to travel. Thank god we didn’t follow that advice. As the year went on my husband spent most of his days getting chemo, blood and tests other things. No way we could have been on the road
Does mark smile
I think I know what 🤐Mark is thinking.😵💫
They don't look 69 and 70 years old. They look much younger.
Never buy for the MSRVP. Negotiate. First time buyers mistake and eager beavers overpay.
Understand circumstances were dire here, but if you have limited funds, don't be in a hurry.
Buy used get a better deal
Happy for you. However, someone folks are in a position of not having the money to do what you have done.
Does Mark ever get to speak?
