No point if they’re not interested in having Xbox consumers
Are you 5? lol
@@SoSickRick Are you 4? lol
No 3rd party manufacturer is going to sell an unsubsidized Xbox console, when Microsoft couldn't successfully sell its own subsidized console. Remember folks, Xbox has the most powerful console on the market from 2017 - 2023, and gamers passed on it.
They could've sold their system well if they just made consistently good exclusives
Agreed
@@Stargazing_night_skyThey didn't have much luck with those. Their exclusives are not hardware moving like Sony and Nintendo
That’s what I’ve been saying. Game devs are having trouble with the series S and X. Now imagine there’s 5 different versions of Xbox? It’s going to get worse
Nah if they can get an os to run well on pc they’ll do really well. Handheld pc gaming is really starting to take off but the windows platform is a deal breaker for some console gamers. If they can nail that and get the manufacturers to use it instead of windows they could be onto something.
They've been needing to fix things for the past two generations now. I highly doubt it. I've been on Xbox since 2008, and it's always "let's wait and see" or "this is Xbox's year". And now they're going full third party, and it should surprise nobody. Do you think Nintendo would have Mario, Metroid, ect on PlayStation and Xbox? No. Because they're successful.
Xbox isnt going full 3rd party though
Technological leap. I don’t think the 10th gen gaming consoles don’t need that. If anything they need innovation and fun gameplay. I believe that graphics have already hit their polygons marks.
Technology leaps aren't isolated to graphics.
Halo hiring the guy who helped with concord probably won't help anything
I think you're talking about Halo Studios' recent hiring of Concord's marketing manager. And I agree, she won't help, and we can only hope she doesn't attack the fans on social media.
Halo died when "they" went back in to censor content out of the games and or alter common sense options like male or female as a body type.
They think making it multiplatform will solve their problems. No the games just suck
Halo isn't the power IP it used to be. If Microsoft weren't going 3rd party, I would say they need a brand new IP, but it doesn't matter anymore since they are not competing with Sony and Nintendo anymore
I’m not saying that it was a good hire but people learn from their mistakes and improve
There we go... We are back on the "Xbox is dead" part of the cycle.
But it's true, just admit it😅😉😏
Their "group" talks about it while they play and they all come out with the same talking points.
Sony can't release games but Xbox has a problem...
@@SoSickRick Both are in trouble. Games as a service (your Genshin/Fortnite fare) is helping sell some consoles but is ultimately cannibalizing younger players time and money. Therefore everyone’s software is selling less.
@ Except Nintendo... their numbers are out of this world ridiculous! I see the next nintendo system being called a "failure" because it will only sell 75 million units lol
Xbox is everywhere but at the same time it feels that they are nowhere. GamePass is stale, they sell less and less consoles... They are going backwards, they don't need play "everywhere" they need to get customers before even thinking about that or just stop Xbox as a console and become a 3rd party publisher like SEGA what I expected them to actually do next generation.
What does “Game Pass is stale” mean?
@@DieHardEddieEdwards It freeze in terms of new people joining the service, Microsoft said it themselves, even after getting CoD they didn't had a huge rise in GamePass numbers.
@ Oh no. They might as well end the service!
Sony invested in making PS Plus better while Microsoft gave up on burning money on having a competitive library and platform exclusives. Rarely anything worth playing on Gamepass now that isn't also on PS Plus
I myself expect them to actually give up making the console and keep xbox alive by letting other people make the console and just purchase the Xbox software like how windows works. It's not like Microsoft makes windows computers only.
Apparently people have been saying the Xbox has been doomed since Don mattrick but yet it's still here curious
Nothing can save them anymore. That ship has sailed. From the Xbox One ''Tv Tv launch'' to lack of games the entire Xbox One generation, to now nothing being exclusive anymore. They are done.
But exclusives are bad for the industry, they would do better by releasing games everywhere.
@saruboss18 The point of exclusives is to inspire ppl to buy your console. Bad for industry how?
@@saruboss18 The trouble is, Sony and Nintendo have exclusives, and the Xbox hardware is still a closed platform, so indie PC games can't freely publish there.
Ergo, it is now the *worst* platform, because every other platform can play Xbox games, but Xbox can't play theirs. They need their own exclusives to give you any reason to buy their box instead of someone else's.
you mean they were ahead of everyone for an "All in one" Box? lol
having some exclusives would be a start
that's not going to happen Phil Spencer himself have said he no longer believes in exclusives
@@hnt8461That sucks.
Phil atopped believing in exclusive games when his userbase stopped buying games.
Probably not happening until Phil Spencer leaves
Phil Spencer... the Savior and Killer of Xbox
It's funny, because Halo MCC and State of Decay isn't Xbox play anywhere. lol
I have noticed this too because I purchased both games on console. I have noticed the newer titles are Play anywhere. I was pleasantly surprised to see Resident evil 7 and Final Fantasy pixels, dragon quest 3 hd and metaphor on play anywhere. I was able to play final fantasy pixel on my phone using the xcloud app.
Its because the foundation tech to allow the saves for cloud gaming/cross progression wasn't a thing yet as play anywhere came out about a year later in 2015, even Halo 5 Guardians would be another game if it came to PC probably would be like MCC where the game probably wouldn't quite have full play anywhere tech built into the Xbox and PC versions.
Unfortunately many first-party Microsoft aren’t Play Anywhere compatible. Not just older titles. Even Black Ops 6 isn’t Play Anywhere.
@@PikminGuts92 none of the Activision games are play anywhere yet. If and when they do make Activision games play anywhere it would definitely be a good thing. All the latest Xbox games like Indiana jones, gears 4 and 5, Forza horizon 5, halo infinite, sea of thieves, starfield, doom dark ages ect are play anywhere. Like I mentioned it’s just the older exclusives that aren’t on play anywhere. The comment by @finger112 explains why the older games are likely not on play anywhere.
@@PikminGuts92 I think Play Anywhere must be a pain to setup and not many people probably are using PC Game Pass because of Steam most likely. I think Microsoft won't need Play Anywhere in the future anymore if they can move everyone to playing to a PC Windows OS on a console like device but its not really custom anymore as it would be more similar to Windows in the background. Then play anywhere won't be needed.
I was going to buy a new Xbox, then I remembered what Don Matrick said. So I bought another Xbox 360 instead!
Make sure to never connect it to the internet.
Unironically, the 360 was a really good console. I bought the PS3 back then, but all the good ones were there and performance was always better on 360
@@jimcarrey2866 That's because the PS3 was more powerful, but an utter pain in the ass to develop for. So almost every third party game was made for 360 first, then ported to PS3.
Like what's happening with the PS5 and Series X, where the X is more powerful, but the PS5 version tends to run better.
I'm looking to buy a modded 360.
I've been an Xbox console user since the original Xbox. Before that I was PlayStation. But to be clear I am not interested in the console war I want everyone to be able to play every game possible on whatever they can play it on I'm a gamer. That being said as a console user I feel like I am at worst being abandoned by Xbox Microsoft and at best going to be relegated to a second class citizen. Nothing they've done in the last year or two looks good for us. Might be good for Xbox and Microsoft but I see nothing reassuring for console users. Love your show always find you insightful.
I dont know, they seem pretty cooked
MS needs to bring their og Xbox and Xbox 360 compatibility to pc
i think that's what they are going to do. Have a universal emulator for multiple platforms like PC,PS5/6,Switch 2, Mobile phones and etc. to play older Xbox titles.
They also need to, if licensing prevents more getting added, continue enhancing those ones they have beyond 720p 30fps
Xbox Play Anywhere is the only reason I still have a growing xbox library
So they've succeeded in their plan.
@ all they need to do is have every game on their store with that feature then I’m sold
@@hansolo989 I wish too but some of these games like Halo MCC doesn't support it fully (but parts of it are supported) because the tech was never built in mind for the collection originally. I think in the end the console side of play anywhere will eventually come to an end and all Xbox Console players will be moved over to the PC platform with an Xbox App layer on top of windows we'll be playing on because it will be massively easier to develop games for and manage. Once that happens then most likely multiplayer might become free because on PC, multiplayer is free actually without gamepass. All Xbox Series X/S is just a custom version of Windows 10/11 I believe. But if the ecosystems can be combined into one where we basically are playing within Windows on PC (were basically in Windows then) then there will be no more need for play anywhere because all games will just use the Windows version instead. Maybe eventually Microsoft can grant the PC version to everyone who owns the similar Xbox version of the same game for free without gamepass because right now both non-play anywhere titles are two different game licenses. Then all of the old console versions of the same games could just run through an emulation layer if you own those.
@ you make great points about the PC platform. I have a theory that in 15 years, Microsoft won’t be selling Xboxes like we know them, but will instead sell proprietary PCs. Kind of like how they do with their surface laptops.
Better call it "Xbox Play Nowhere" from now on😅
If anyone is going to make online multiplayer free? I think it needs to be Xbox. If Microsoft wants to retake a lot of the console market.
they need that if anything just to push their game pass numbers
They were the ones that started needing to pay to play online. Sony and Nintendo only started that during the 8th generation
every non Xbox console that came out before 2013 had free online multiplayer services, once sony adopted it too with the PS4 it all went downhill from there
@@NickJR528 that's why it would be a potentially appealing move to people though, especially in a climate where Sony and Nintendo quite frankly aren't doing much to justify the paywall on their respective online multiplayer spaces in recent years.
That said, I would argue the best time for Microsoft to have done this would've been right after they were forced to drop all the DRM policies on the Xbox One. After the colossal embarrassment Sony inflicted on them (So much so, it also infamously allowed Sony to get away with sneaking in their own paywall during that very same conference) it would've at least given Microsoft something of an Uno reverse card, they could've pulled something out of their behind like 'by the way, we forgot to mention, due to breakthrough research in the power of the cloud, Xbox Live Gold will not be required for online multiplayer on the Xbox One system'.
Will there even BE a next Gen ?
Yes. The Switch 2 is coming out this year. That's the start of next gen. The PS6 will be out in 2 or 3 years. If Microsoft decides to release next gen hardware, then they'll join in, but if they release a gaming PC called "Xbox", then I don't think we can count it as "next gen" since PC doesn't really go by generations.
Xbox already confirm the next gen console. A lot of things can change in that time for example releasing your games in all platforms being the new form to do business.
How the heck is a PS6 supposed to solve sony's problems!? @@G360LIVE
@@FalcoMerc seeing hardware sales plummet *this* hard, they might still cancel the next generation alltogether...
Why even bother firing up the production line if you prolly going to sell less than a million units?
@@G360LIVEOr smartphone, or laptop, or tablet😅
Microsoft needed exclusives and since the Xbox One they've had nothing really worth buying. All that money and no sense.
Once you’re in the Xbox ecosystem it’s actually pretty convenient. I just finished up Indiana jones jumping in between an Xbox series X, a series S , my gaming PC and my Steamdeck via Xplay. The cloud saves are so clutch. But I get it’s not for everyone though. But it’s cool to have different options to jump from device to device to play a game.
Yea, Xbox has good quality of life features no one talks about. Have to try them to appreciate them
It's why everyone is more focused on the exclusives, cause it's way easier too make sense of
Yeah, 80% of customers don’t care about that because they only use one system.
And all of that with quick resume. You can play up to 8 games simultaneously and just continue playing without ever thinking about saving while the game is on in seconds. I almost always have at least 4-5 games I am playing. Currently i finished mass effect 3 and started Andromeda.
My games currently on are:
1. Mass effect Andromeda
2. Alan Wake 2
3. Dead space remake
4. Burnout Paradise remake
5. Dragon Age Inquisition
@ i usually just play one game at a time.
And if I feel like playing GTA 5, im ok with waiting 1min.
They seem to fk something up every generation. This time destinguishing between the white One S and a white Series S was a big problem for most people. Not to mention the most popular version IS the Series S and it's so damn underpowered.
Should have given it a bigger case, better cooling and higher clocks as well as 12gb of memory. Make it draw the same amount of power as the XSX
And them putting out a limited run "pro model" would have been very e a s y.
Do a die shrink seeing as it would make the APU run less electricity so you could clock it higher, put in a vapor chamber and give it 20gb of GDDR6 (20gbps memory not the 18). Boom, still not quite ps5 pro levels of performance but they could price it at $500
You’d think after the PSN outage and all the anti consumers moves Sony has made we’d be talking about things PlayStation needs to work on.
This a video about xbox. So stop the whataboutism.

I don’t think their will be a return journey Mr. Frodo
Even some games dont support Play Anywhere, such as Minecraft Dungeons, you got to purchase the title and DLCs twice, even though achievements track both platforms.
Xbox only sold 2 million consoles last year... no wonder Microsoft put games on Playstation.
It's almost like there's other places to play Xbox games... I sear y'all are stuck in the past.
THAT is bad! ... but I think if they can sell 40 million this gen, then that's decent enough tbh

There just feels like there’s no point to own one over a ps5 or pc. There are so many affordable pc options now w/ stuff like Steam Deck, so the price thing isn’t even entirely relevant anymore.
Microsoft getting rid of having to pay for online would bring so many people to the ecosystem
the console was ALWAYS Microsoft larger push into gaming, and the console was just in case the Playstation started hurting Windows / PC revenue for Microsoft.........console sales didnt hurt Windows, and game software is where most $$$ is, so why even worry about consoles at this point? Ive followed this since the late 90s as a kid, and Microsofts ultimate vision never changed.
5:03 RIP to the family gamepass tier
Figuring out what Game Pass pricing plan I need feels like choosing health insurance.
Xbox needs Peter Moore back.
Lets be honest. Xbox gamers weren't begging for exclusives under Don Mattrick. Hell, Xbox gamers were getting great 1st party exclusives for the next 2-3 years after his ouster.
Xbox's current moves are right from the top. Satya Nadella has hated keeping software limited to one set of platforms forever. Why do you think Microsoft sells Microsoft Office on Macs? Any head of Xbox would have to deal with the fact that the people up top at Microsoft want Xbox software to be on all platforms.
it’s ironic that with the Xbox 360 glory days, Peter Moore was a huge part of that success.
I get that people associate Moore with 'the good old 360 days', however the flipside of that is he also has RROD hanging over his legacy, meaning Microsoft were spunking away all the money they should've been making trying to fix it for years. I don't think it's ever been explicitly said why he left in 2007 but if you put 2 and 2 together...
Another thing is that regardless of who was at the helm, a lot of people were only giving the 360 a chance because they felt priced out of the PS3 at the time. Unless Mark Cerny insists on making the PS6 a bleeding-edge machine, then that's not gonna happen again.
@@pattersong6637 These people can't comprehend that a business has people above others in a company like Microsoft 😂 Xbox is a Division to Microsoft and Answers to them UNLIKE Sony who generates all the most revenue FROM Playstation. Microsoft will surpass in Windows.

Let's get these 20 year old games next instead of modern titles yeah
@chuckgreen41 Modern gaming in the triple A sphere sucks. Too much bloat over world for visual density. Plus it an actual chance to see if the market would want those ips to pursue further. But yeah modern gaming woot 😛

The Series X is a pretty good console yet it doesn't sell. Nothing is better than firing up Gamepass on it. You are correct, not everything IS an Xbox. Microsoft needs to flood the market in some way. I would LOVE if my Mac was an Xbox yet it isn't there. Not all TVs have the Xbox cloud app either. A lot of work needs to be done.
GamePass doesn't interest me even a little. I'm an adult. I have a lot of things to do in a day. I don't play enough games in a year to make Game Pass worth it. The only reason I subscribe is because there's a pay wall to play online.
This isn't exclusive to Xbox either. I have the exact same issue with Nintendo. In my opinion, none of these companies have any real confidence in the strength of their game services. If they did, they wouldn't put online behind a pay wall.
you made the arguments for gamepass ironically 😂
@SoSickRick wouldn't I need to play a lot of games to make Game Pass worth it? I play a few games a year and never buy at full price.
This feels like history repeating itself. Remember the last time Microsoft tried to standardise a gaming format for multiple manufacturers? Well, that turned out to be the MSX 🤔
Ant no next Xbox console
If they make an extremely good halo game for the next Xbox.
I’m sure they’d sell millions.
But halo devs are probably clueless of what the real halo experience is like
Unfortunately, just because a game is on both console and PC game pass, doesn't mean it's Play Anywhere. Even first-party games like the recent Black Ops 6 isn't Play Anywhere. Heck, even Minecraft isn't Play Anywhere. If Microsoft can't set a consistent example, why should third parties bother?
Sounds like sticking with PS is the future, being able to play PS and Xbox games on one device in the living room sounds better than buying 2 to do the same thing.
Sounds like moving to PC is the future. Being able to play PlayStation and Xbox Games on one device in the Living Room, the Bedroom, on the go, at a Desk, and anywhere a Windows Device can go, all while having free Online Multiplayer with no Subscription Fee is better than buying two or more devices to do the same thing.

@@cyxceven545 Switch have no good games. I have played on my switch 4 hours total 2024. 1 hour per game and Nintendo own games and there are not great anymore . PC is the way to play.
Big brain move to enable steam. Then you get to play all the PS PC games 😂
The first step that they need to make is merging Battlenet with Xbox on the PC side of things. It is an inevitability at this point, hopefully it doesn't piss off too many people.
3DO, CD-I and the Steam machines went the multiple manufacturers route.
Let that sink in.
Was gonna say that. Goldstar Xbox incoming lol.
So did Sega Saturn. There were some admittedly cool consoles from Hitachi and the like, but yeah…I’m not holding my breath for an Xbox console worth buying.
Console was meant to be one-universal platform. Having multiple SKUs means more work. At that point why bother just port it for PC.
So is the Switch lol
@SoSickRick Proof of 3rd party manufacturing of the Switch other than trust me bro?
Seems they were not just pushing to bring Xbox to many platforms, I think they rushed it too fast. Perhaps sales may have been so abysmal that it might have been a frantic decision to just spread gamepass and 1st party games everywhere. I do agree with Spawn that Xbox seems to be focusing on just software and allowing other platforms to use the Xbox OS. This is where people's first perception is that Xbox is leaving the console entirely, and probably the only thing people would believe Xbox would exist is on PC as it is on every Windows OS. It'll be difficult to entice other manufacturers to put Xbox OS on their system, especially with Steam OS gaining popularity.
I just hope you’ll be able to play your Xbox games on PC through an official emulator in the future.
They would still need a reason to invest into their ecosystem at all. PC is already dominated by Steam, console is covered by Playstation and Nintendo. Cloud is the only place where i could imagine Microsoft having a headstart, but that still requires good games
I'm not sure that even cloud is a place where Microsoft could go. Google already failed with Stadia. And Sony updated the Portal for cloud streaming, which gives Sony a headstart over Microsoft there. Not to mention, Sarah Bond said that they don't see cloud making any real gains, so cloud streaming is likely just going to be a niche thing for AAA games. But yeah, if Microsoft is going to compete in cloud, they need great games.
Microsoft owns about half of all publishers and studios it feels like but still can't make their box sell. One can't make this up :'D
AAA titles only work when playing on a tv or monitor. They are making it too fragmented. Cheers Jon
Nintendo laughs in the Chat
Xbox says they can’t compete with Sony because everyone built their digital library with PlayStation already, so they decided to compete with Steam instead….
Nah son, that's Fail Spencer excuse. People jumping from Xbox to Sony or Nintendo were willing to give up their digital libraries.
That’s what I’m saying. It makes no sense. Especially to try and lock horns with Steam where it is only digital libraries.
As someone with every console since the 80's I for the life can not fathom this Sony Loyalty these ponies have...
It is not that easy to integrate Windows and XBox systems, because WIndows is well, too open. Microsoft is years behind something like the Proton from Valve, for example, that allows WIndows games to run on Windows. And it will not be easy to convince devs to be restricted to a new SDK that cuts their capabilities to make it interopereable with XBox.
Windows might be the strenght of Microsofgt, but at same time, it has became their weakness, because they can't change it too much.
I have been an XBOX hardware lover since the OG XBOX, at the time there was PLAYSTATION 2 and the GAMECUBE. Then there was the XBOX 360 O.M.G. The only reason that I got the PLAYSTATION 3 was because it was the most affordable BLURAY player plus game system, but then I really didn't lose respect for XBOX until the current generation. I don't think that I'm going to invest it there hardware yet again. Make no mistake I at least have respect for the brand in general. I want to see them back on top of their game once more, but I'm not certain they will ever be there again since the XBOX 360 area Love your channel.
“Tiers all over the place.” Sounds like my wife on our anniversary.
The years of piss poor marketing, lack of direction and flip flopping, AND massive studio investment has resulted in Microsoft forcing Xbox to go multi plat with all their studios. Microsoft are so huge that Xbox as a brand will survive, but they can't be a serious console competitor anymore. It's tragic as they have superior hardware in some ways, but have no idea how to promote their products.
If Microsoft wants to go into the ecosystem route especially on PC, what would be cool is if they figured out nearly 100% parity. Like if I buy a game on the Microsoft store, it'd be cool if they could work out a way for us to have the PC version as well. For backwards compatible games that aren't on PC, backwards compatible games are basically emulated anyway it's just really, really good emulation. Since most PC gamers have hardware that's better or at least rivals an Xbox, allow PC gamers to play their backwards compatible games on PC with the only issue being requiring a controller. I'm a Linux user, so I'm not even really in Microsoft's ecosystem, but if they did that at least half of my SSD would have both Windows and Linux. It's a pie in the sky idea, but everyone wins in this scenerio. I get to play my games wherever I want, it would allow Microsoft to keep me as a user in their ecosystem, and SEGA would continue to make money without even having to remaster the game, and it would make them a legitimate competitor to Steam in the PC space. So many people win and it'd be cool if Microsoft could figure that out.
Initially I was appalled when Microsoft announced that they were going to publish games on rival platforms. After I thought about it, I realized it's a great idea. Playstation will follow suit. I heard someone talking about 75% of all revenue on the Playstation last month went to Microsoft. Exclusives will become a thing of the past. I think it's great for consumers. Lots of people can only afford one console. This would be great for them. In the end this is all about money. They don't care about anything but selling games to make money.
Games are what incentivize me to play on any given console. When I can play your games on the console I already own, I’m not gonna buy your console. I’ll just grab random games as they appeal to me.
I really hope Microsoft let's Rare port Rare Replay to the Switch, even though many of the N64 titles are already on NSO, it would be nice to have the option to play the 360 remastered versions of those games, as well as all the other Xbox Rare games
I'm not expecting 3rd party to play anywhere, but I do with Xbox 1st party. Both companies have different levels of service. They are not confusing at all.
is it that they have no games?
Xbox focusing on bargain bin gamepass will kill them
If the box is no more.... no more xbox
Xbox is still making consoles they've already said this they have a handheld coming and supposedly a 2026 they have another console as well which is also supposed to have steam.
Xbox is done as a platform, it's oher, i don't know why Microsoft is even bothering to make new hardware at this point? It's a duopoly with Nintendo and PlayStation.
Even though Xbox has around 30 million units sold their monthly active users on console alone is around the 120 million mark.

xbox anywhere!
not on my devices, for sure
Between the campaign "This is an Xbox" and Game Pass, Microsoft is killing itself as a hardware maker. I feel as a software publisher that they will be around a long time.
Microsoft hoped GamePass would be Netflix, cloud based and available everywhere but it’s failed and now they broke their business model. There won’t be a next gen Xbox. They will become SEGA, just a publisher. Complete fumble like the windows phone.
Game pass hasn't failed. Game pass grew by 30% on PC alone according to recent reports and it's still growing on console. The last time I looked game pass alone was making four or five billion dollars and this was just a couple of years ago and even Phil Spencer has already said that it's making money.
Xbox is also making a handheld and next-gen console for 2026 so they're not going anywhere and the Sega comparison doesn't even fit because they didn't have a big game pass like service with over 30 million people and the Dreamcast only sold like 9 million consoles.
The reason they separate certain games from PC to the console is to force you to buy a console. I don’t understand what is wrong with people!

Xbox dug their own grave. Their "being everywhere" policy has driven their relevance half way into the ground.
nah... microsoft should quit the console race and become a 3rd party publisher like sega and support their windows platform.
How do you make a compelling next gen box when everything is already an Xbox?
Call it xbox 720…. I sit back and cross my arms
Even if it worked, realistically how many people are jumping between devices to game? Sounds like a niche. Also as long as "Play Anywhere" doesn't include Playstation and Nintendo, they're not getting that audience either.
my thing is, i dont have a Great laptop, and my phone can barely handle RUclips for more than a few minutes without getting laggy...i like the idea of "a console" because then i Know i have a device that can handle the game im trying to run, instead of "my laptop COULD run this, if i install a $1000 graphics card" or "my phone COULD run this, if i have a strong-enough wifi connection"...but if i have An Xbox, then i have a pretty good chance at being able to PLAY An Xbox Game...
Castlevania Aura of Holy Might
(New Castlevania 1 Megamix Out Tomorrow)
So here the thing is that exclusives do sale consoles, but devs are starting to notice being exclusive for 6 to 12 months or forever hurts their game in the long term. same with game pass and epic games.
For example, alan Wake 2 has never left Epic Games yet and has not been put on steam, while a majority of the customers are waiting for it to be on Steam. Square enix is starting to notice this with final fantasy.
The issue with a United ecosystem is that you're basically asking for bottlenecks, what is the biggest challenges Xbox had this generation was the separation between the Series X and the Series S, a lot of major games skip to their platform entirely because nobody wanted to work for the weaker system, so if you go as far as to bring third parties in to make crappier Xboxes themselves, wouldn't that just make the problem even worse? That's why I feel like this wouldn't be a great idea...
An Nvidia based Xbox would shake things up!
either I wasn't paying attention or I learned nothing from this video......
It doesn’t benefit publishers to do a onetime purchase and get Xbox and PC versions of the game. It’s a pipe dream. Microsoft can do it with Xbox games but it’s an impossible task for 3rd party games. They could lose out on multiple purchases.
I think they should release more controllers and announce more ways to pay for Gamepass.
I will never support this ecosystem or anything Xbox related again, and I'm convinced something is wrong with Phil Spencer
Well the sell to 3rd parties would be streamlined development as the games would be being made on the same API, so no more porting within the Xbox/windows ecosystem. It's the only way they could guarantee across the board support on any Microsoft based platform for any given title. This kind of vertical integration could do wonders for the publisher long term where it would maintain healthy margins on a per unit basis but also ensure a steady stream of incoming. Very few people are willing to buy the same game for multiple different platforms at the same time, you are more likely to willing buy extra copies for friends if experience is anything to go by.
Microsoft has spent decades making the windows user experience as seamless as possible. But when it comes to the Xbox, it's by far the worst in the industry.
Get a new peripheral. Sony, Nintendo: connect it and you're good to go. Xbox: 20 minutes of setting adjustments.
Want to update or uninstall a game? Sony, Nintendo: three presses of one button. Xbox: six screens to navigate through.
The last time my controller desync from my PlayStation or switch? The north side of never. Xbox? At least once a month.
Third party manufacturers like Amazon or TV makers aren't going want to deal with Microsoft core Xbox programming and trying to make it compatible with their systems.
A lot of you reading this are the 'tech guys' with your friends and family. Knowing what it is like to navigate an Xbox to just find your games or connect a headset. Would you really recommend a third party device for your less tech savvy friends
Maybe a good ol cash payment gets these companies on board. It is a little weird, I agree.
First they need to name it either Xbox 6 or Xbox 7. Would be smarter than whatever naming scheme they think is working 😅
For real, just name it something people can understand for once.
@@justinreschke3642 it's like they've been doing a "wii-u" since their second console. Xbox 360 was a dumb name even though we all finally embraced it. But then they went Xbox one. Dumb name. Xbox one x and s even more confusing. Then they went even a step further into stupidity with Xbox series x and s. It's like you'd have to be trying to fail to fumble as bad as they have.
seriously, this girl said she would give me some xbox 1 games but they were games from the 1st xbox and i was like yeaaaa, thanks, but no LMAO
@justinreschke3642 The reason they didn't go that route was because of the PS3. Microsoft was worried that naming Xbox 2 would sound inferior to PS3. We can't blame them tbh. People couldn't figure out the Wii U so it would have been a disaster for Xbox 2
@@alpha-boss No we get it but by this point they're just hurting themselves by not going back to the number scheme and we know it's not Xbox six or seven but it would make more sense in the Xbox series next x and s they're probably planning on calling it 🤣
Resident Evil 2 Remake and 3 Remake are a part of that program. Resident Dvil 7 and 8 aren't on the Xbox App, so they can't be a part of that program.
Last I checked, every single Capcom game that gets released on both portions of Xbox (console and Xbox PC) are a part of the Play Anywhere program.
Why do people keep thinking companies are going to make an Xbox? Who is going to make a failing hardware.. MS already stained the brand.
Losing japan and other Asian markets to Sony and Nintendo
Xbox has never had that market. Even the original Xbox flopped in Japan.
I don't think there will ever be gamers that don't use PCs nor couch-warrior that enjoy console games. I'm a bit sad that XBOX seem to be leaving hardware behind. There's lots of talk of hardware down the line but no real evidence...yet.
Xbox play anywhere is the reason that I have an Xbox at all. People like to say that it’s best to have a PlayStation because you’ll get multiplatform games but I really like buying PC games and having them show up on my Xbox so my nephew can use it.
Xbox next gen hardware sounds like a waste of every one’s time and money.
At this point Xbox is Sega which is not a bad thing but if they made it handheld that would be a good move too as well as PlayStation
Right now, I am sporting a PLAYSTATION 5 PRO.
Like I said before, Xbox needs to release Xbox OS and every pc could be Xbox.
We already have Xbox games on PC, and Steam is superior to Xbox OS. That's why PC gamers don't touch the Microsoft Store.
Xbox lookin' a lot like Sega rn. Short of making online free, and just charging for game pass, I don't think they got legs.
