Its more akin to the pseudoscience of “alternative medicines” that people will so readily believe in to not get the vaccine. Of course, this skit mocks how they think they’re being rationale when they’re really just looking to justify their preconceived beliefs with a flawed method. If we’re actually thinking rationally we’d consider that there are easily 100,00 or more scientists, people smarter than both of us ever will be, working on all aspects of the pandemic’s spread and producing a viable vaccine to bring this mess to an end. It’s all to easy to simplify that when we don’t actively see it before our eyes, same as we aren’t thinking about everything that the million people in some country across the world are doing. It’s like it’s not even happening when we don’t see it, but it is. Still, there’s only so much that they can do if the rest of us don’t put their research into action, like mask wearing, social distancing, and getting vaccinated.
@@OnliPhans_Kenobi mask wearing. So tell me how wearing a mask, especially a cloth one, especially reused ones and ones that are constantly played with, stops a virus. A mask is as useful against a virus as a jail cell is to containing a housefly.
@@BillSmith-rx9rm its pretty simple really. No one says masks are 100% effective, they say they help. The virus gets stuck in water particles in your breath and the mask traps the water particles, catching the virus. N94 masks are good enough to stop the airborne virus.
@@Redtooth75 and you just described the other issue with mask wearing. That is, germs are being trapped in the mask that people are wearing for hours on end and reuse over and over with those same germs in The mask and collecting new germs daily. Who knows how many people got sick because they were wearing a mask. I don't think there's any study on that. Overall, all things considered, a mask does more harm than good. In fact, there are studies that they try to hide, that show statistically that wearing the mask has provided no safety against the virus. To wear a mask is the same kind of "science" as the medieval bloodlettings to cure the Black Death. Science today now knows that the bloodletting is actually contributed to the spread of the Black Death. I think future scientist will say the same thing about mask wearing.
@@BillSmith-rx9rm When worn properly, face masks are as effective as air filters, especially given they work in the same manner. Making sure you limit how long you wear them while replacing them with new ones is important. The key information your missing here is that while masks are intended to trap bodily fluids, if you already have been infected then getting sick from wearing a compromised mask is irrelevant since it was your germs to begin with that got trapped. The entire purpose of the mask is to protect others from your germs not the other way around. In doing so, it helps reduce transmission rate decreasing overall sickness in the population. Viruses need hosts and without a way to spread, it eventually dies out. Vaccines do the same thing yet in a more biological sense as it acts as a filter for the body itself by boosting the immune system into producing the necessary antibodies you otherwise wouldn't have had.
