This film was a pioneer in the history of the hobby Radio Control. This was THE FIRST Cinematic 1/10th scale trail truck builds filmed and posted on RUclips. Never before had an audience witnessed this DRAMATIC style of RC "ADVENTURES" video... and it led to so much happiness and fun for folks all over the planet. This video helped launch thousands of people into a world of imagination and excitement about "Trailing" with a RC truck. This was the FIRST video to show an RC vehicle could go INTO WATER (GASP!), and still survive. Back in 2009, I build the first ever water proof ESC and Servo combo to go into this truck. (Original Post 2009) I have a complete Build Video Series on RUclips. This was my first Scale build, and I decided to "Go Big, or GO home!" .. RC Adventures is all about building them as crazy as I can - and showing how much fun can be had with a great hobby. While building this - I filmed it for you to see. Simply Search "Tundra build Video" Forgive the quality - but it was my first Build video series ever. The start of an RC video empire. My build was inspired by KNIGHT RIDER!
This truck starts off as an extremely SCALE looking vehicle, and includes a 3 Stage Transmission. low, mid, and High Gear. This entire film was shot in Low Gear to mimic scale driving speed, and true mud bogging.
My upgrades include: 1) Lift Kit and Steering mod - JunFac*com, 2) RC4WD 2.2 Mud-Slinger Tires 3) RockStar Aluminum Bead Lock Rims 4) ProLine Memory Foam Inserts. 5) Tekin 35t HW Motor & FXR ESC Rock Crawling Combo 6) Castle BEC 7) RPM Snorkle 8) Custom Fender Flares 9) Custom lights 10) RC4WD "Sparks" Shocks 90mm, 11) 3Racing Winch 12) Team Associated XP HT Digital Steering Servo 13) Hitec 645MG Transmission Servo 14) Team Associated 5 pnd Shock Springs 15) 2, 3S Lipo Batteries - 1550mah 16) Airtronics RDS-8000 RX/TX 8-Channel
TOP 10 COMMON QUESTIONS:
1)Is the Truck Waterproof?
1a) Yes - but The Truck is not waterproof "stock" out of the box. I had to custom water "resist" all areas, and consistently lubricate all moving parts with "Marine" grease.
2) Are the Diffs locked?
2a) Yes, they have a locking option when building.
3) How Heavy is it? You should add some weight
3a) Total Weight of the Truck is 13 Pounds.
4) What is the name of the music used?
4a) I score all of my videos individually. The music you here is a score of loops I custom built for this video. There is no name to it!
5) What Type of Camera do you use?
5a) I use a Sony HDR XR-550v
6) How long does the battery last?
6a) Run time is approximately 60 minutes, depending on your driving style.
7) How many trucks do you have?
7a) This is consistently changing - Aprox 15 rc's
8) Where can I buy this truck?
8b) You cannot purchase this truck "as is".. to replicate it, you would need to order the selected parts.
9) Will you build me a truck like this?
9a) Sorry, I only build RC's for RC Adventures and select Clients
10) How much was this truck?
10a) The total cost of this project was Approximately $2000.00 CAD- And yes, You can buy a real truck for this much money, but wooptie-do, tell someone who cares. This is the hobby I choose ;)

This has to be my favorite so far. Love the music with the sound of the vehicle. Best part was when the truck did a backflip in unison with the music. Great editing!

It's a Tamiya Tundra highlift. They're sold as kits online or at hobby stores, but you can find a completed one every now and then on ebay.
Great throw back video, still stands the test of time. Glad you pioneered the crawling video, gives me hope for mine. Thanks for the entertainment and instruction.

I am not a huge RC fan, but you did an amazing job filming and editing this piece. I have always had a preference for practical special effects and models in movies over CGI and small films like this are why. Kudos.
