@JS_246 , financial investment comes from the owners and not from Edward's and hughs. It's both the owners and the transfer team that have dropped the ball. Everyone else has strengthened, we have not. It's clear as day that the FSG model doesn't work.

I've never been part of the "FSG OUT" group, but I now have to admit that LFC is far too big a club for FSG & it's time for them to go. For too long, they've run us like a mid tier club. We're one of the true giants of the game, yet we're constantly shopping from the bargain bin of players. We needed to make a huge statement this summer with the arrival of Slot, Edwards & Hughes, but absolutely nothing has changed. We have players on the last year of their contracts & a squad that will ultimately fall short this season. Our rivals keep getting stronger & we stand still with the risk of going backwards.

Its Slots who career is in tatters, he only saw Zumbi on July 9th this year and the n throw Endo under the bus and told Hughes and Edwards he want him, but Zzumbi looked and said , (hey you think I playing for Slot, Forget it )

LFC to speak to Zumbi, had to trigger the release clause, that is controlled by the player, if Zumbi said yes, LFC pay the release figure to the player, who then pays it to Real Soci, it is that simple. LFC do not pay Real the lease fee , they pay the player and they can only do that when the player agrees and signs the contract// Oh and did LFC dodge a bullet, with Lavia and Caciedo ..

Thankfully braced myself for this exact scenario, Zubimendi would have been a great addition but his loyalty to Sociedad is admirable, however to not have an alternative is a sackable offence. These guys are taking one of the biggest clubs (supposedly) for a joke.
Given the club's data driven approach to transfers, I absolutely refuse to believe that they don't have a shortlist of players available for this position- we must have looked at/considered several options.
I'm really hoping this "we may not enter the market again.." is just a matter of the club keeping their cards close to their chests after the catastrophe this Zubimendi has turned into (..and following the Caicedo saga last window)

Caicedo and Lavia went for 9 year deals and ridiculous wages/transfer fees, Zubimendi decided to stay with his boyhood club.
We signed Mac Allister, Szoboslai and Gravenberch last summer, all of whom have world class potential.
Leandro Paredes would be a perfect signing in every sense of the word.
A high profile international who wouldn't block the path of players like Bajcetic long term, but would give them someone like Thiago was meant to be to further learn from while still developing.
He wouldn't break the bank as he only has 1 year left on his contract. He's only just turned 30 so would still have several years to give at the highest level playing the deep laying playmaker who loves to pick a pass and has that solid defensive side to his game as he just showed during the Euros.
Add to that his connection with MacAlister and you've got a top draw CDM that would immediately add quality, not fingers crossed potential
I'm giving Liverpool the full window before I kick off. I accept that he wanted to look at the squad, but there's lack of depth in some positions for a full season so we need to pull our finger out, but I can't believe they will let the manager go into the season like this.

Why haven't people called out Michael Edwards? His feud with Klopp and lousy final signings are bad enough but then he leaks negative stories to his UK press friends about Klopp and only agrees to return if FSG buy other clubs. Klopp gave his all for us, Edwards is in it for the wrong reasons. If FSG hadn't promised him a 'franchise' he wouldn't have returned.
I can’t lie that buy out clause is bs, if he rejected the contract ok cool, but you have a clause for a price that should be it. You see this all the time players that should make the step up they don’t and down the line they move to Europa league level team for 20M.

Concerns: We are selling and loaning all of our depth which we have used extensively to plug holes with injuries and for depth. Fine so long as you bring in others (1 youth only). Could we not have done Goal tender business early in the window? Slot knew what he had here. Nyoni may be the only youth to make the game day squad and he is best further forward. With the limited window time left we cannot get embroiled in another transfer battle else we end up with no one while everyone in the league strengthened. The psychological effect along will demoralize the team and the fans!

I think the use of the word "may" could be telling, personally, I think we quite possibly will still make a move for somebody. Having said that, the use of the words "may" could simply be because they know that if they say that we will not be making signings, then the fan base will quite rightly be disappointed.
Also, given what just happened with Zubimendi, it makes perfect sense that the club wouldn't want to give any information away too soon in an attempt to avoid a repeat of the same situation, or similar.

i read an article on twitter that stated that the spanish club has structured the players contract in such a way that the payment for the release clause is paid to the player or the players representatives and then HE..... pays the money to the club to trigger the release clause ......psychologically its like handing a child a knife and telling that child to kill a parent.......the persuasion was nothing more than a guilt trip to get him to stay ......something a manipulative mother would do to her son, in a way.
