    I might be in love with you because how did I not figure that i could've use the clone stamp tool to remove the harsh linesss. I'm shedding tears of joy. Thank you so much.

    Thanks for upping the resolution! I like to use 300dpi. When making pattern seamless, try "inverting" to check for seam lines. The "emboss" filter can add depth to the gold layer: it does look a bit too strong: until you rasterize the layer, then it looks more natural, in a rough way.

      Hi Kathy, these are great tips! Thank you so much for the ideas. Embossing does look really nice, also inner shadow makes the gold look like it’s in the grooves of the marble which also looks great. There are so many options to make this your own, this is just a starting point. I love rough textures so I will have to try the embossing method as well.

    Hi I recommend using the spot healing brush tool for making the pattern seamless. You do much less work then when using the clone tool. The clone tool tends to be a bad choice when you have a pattern that has very subtle gradients that can't be easily connected with the clone tool as it won't usually match the areas your trying to clone tool. With the spot healing brush you just brush the same area (make sure its on content aware) and you get the same colors from that area.
    The clone tool tends to cause issues when you use the marble pattern as an actual pattern in Photoshop as sometimes the area your cloning from doesn't connect well to the area your cloning to breaking the seamless pattern.

      Vigilence Thanks for the comment, great info. This sounds like a better option for metallics as well, I’ll have to give it a try. I’ve been using the patch tool to help with variations in brightness and vibrance. What do you think about the spot healing brush for drastic variations in lighting on the textures?

      @@PrettyWebzMedia I have used it for this purpose with good results but sometimes you have to keep trying as the results can get blurry.

      @@PrettyWebzMedia Your welcome! You sometimes have to switch between content-aware and proximity match when using the spot healing but content-aware should be the first choice.

    If the dimensions of the Render Clouds is a power of 2, eg 1024, the tile repeats seamlessly skipping a whole stage from this tutorial.

    At about 7:19, for the step where you merge the layers to create a new layer while also keeping the old layers: Everyone knows that Command is basically equivalent to the Windows key on a PC, but fewer know that the Alt key corresponds to Option on a Mac. So for Windows you need to hold down ctrl-alt-windows then press "e". AFAIK this four-fingered keystroke is the only way to do it; when I tried just holding down Alt and using the menu to merge, everything was disabled.

    • @ZahrDalsk
      @ZahrDalsk Год назад

      ... no. Command is equivalent to Control. Not Windows key. The normal shortcut to merge selected layers into a new layer is Ctrl+Alt+E, or on apple's junk OS, Shift+Option+Command+E. You don't need to hold down the Windows key for ANYTHING in Photoshop.

    Thanks for the video and your time. How can i creat higher sized pattern or how can i apply the patter on higher sized project? for example 6000X4500 px

    • @PrettyWebzMedia
      @PrettyWebzMedia  3 года назад

      You can start with that size for your pattern or you can create a seamless pattern with the offset filter and fix the seams with the patch or clone stamp tool. I recommend you just make it bigger. Creating a smaller pattern will affect how it looks in your final design as well unless you blow it up it will be much smaller, which defeats the purpose.

  • @Dula_95
    @Dula_95 2 года назад +1

    Great tutorial! But it doesn't work with bigger size documents - I mean clouds (first step) look bad, the whole pattern is much smaller. Can I adjust the size of clouds? I want to create a big size of the project but with marble like in your tutorial.

    • @BenkaCustomHomes
      @BenkaCustomHomes 10 месяцев назад

      You have to scale it up after rendering the clouds at a small size. Increase canvas size then increase the cloud layers.

    • @PrettyWebzMedia
      @PrettyWebzMedia  4 года назад

      When you make your color selections you need to work with the range scale. If the selection is too this I, lower the range. You can also make the selection then contract is by as many pixels as you need.

    Can you do the gold inlay but with the background black? Instead of the white? Like inverting it without the gold inverting?

    • @PrettyWebzMedia
      @PrettyWebzMedia  4 года назад +3

      You can make the marble black with the "invert" adjustment layer then add the gold after. In the select tool, the same as before but select the highlights and add the gold to that.

    Thanks for the vid! When I use gradient map, it is a linear application across the whole canvas, instead of only the specific colors to the dark and light areas of the marble lines? Do you know what I missed out?

    • @PrettyWebzMedia
      @PrettyWebzMedia  4 года назад

      You may be choosing colors that are too dark. Try keeping the veins dark (left stop) and the surface (right stop) a very light shade of the color you want. Let me know if this works.

    When I used gradient, it does just that, to the color so the top of the canvas is light and the bottom is dark, unlike in your video.

    • @PrettyWebzMedia

      Make sure to check “colorize” in the hue and saturation panel. You can also use a gradient map to get a duo tone.
