The problem is people often are too preoccupied with stuff and just want to get to their destinations that they rarely pay attention to the driver.
It would kind of be impossible to ignore the driver if you are riding shotgun and he is talking to you like Gronk does in the video.

It's definitely fake. The conversations flow way too perfectly for it not to be scripted. Most people would try to cut the convo short and avoid talking. And what are the chances that he even picks up this many random people who know him well enough to be able to carry a conversation about him?
And it appeared that all the riders were going to the same destination? Coincidence? I think not.
One of my friends is in the video. They're not actors; they're Lyft customers who were told that they were going to take a ride with a new driver and that it would be filmed to make a training video to use with other new drivers.

I love these undercover vids because it shows how celebrities think that every single person they meet knows of them or has seen them. Like when they take the disguise off and expect a huge reaction instantly. Similar to celebs or public figures being pulled over and pulling the "don't you know who I am?"
